BrineShrimp
Welcome to.... the Awareness thread. The purpose of this thread is to inform people of all of the bad things that are happening in the world. Whether it be the large amounts of homeless people in New York City (Celt XD), or the horrible genocide that is going on in Sudan, me (and HOPEFULLY other tipiters O:) ) will be informing you about. It would help if you posted an article or a website about the issue P.S. I'm still working on this thread ._. Let's see where to start.... Apparantly this site is purely profit... so I deleted the link. ____ http://www.savedarfur.org/content I hope that you know about the genocides that are going on in Darfur... well if you don't here is where to find out about it. This website shows you all of the recent acts to protect darfur, and informs you about what is going on. You can also send an online letter to the President of the USA to try to convince him to donate money to Darfur. Seriously... paying trillions of dollars for the war in the Middle East, while we can spend even 1/100th of that for a country in need... http://www.savethechildren.org/ There are alot of starving children in the world... and on this website you can donate to them. There are various links on this site, and you can read the stories of children in need. A great site to check out :) I'll be posting more later, and I hope that you learned something :uhh: Tipiter's ideas Gonpost- http://video.google.com/videop.....e+children Very interesting video... I'd advise you to watch it. Helps you realize what's going on in the world When sperm whales mate, 3/4 of the sperm goes into the sea, not his mate.Thats why sea water tastes funny

Viktorkrum77
The first site is a PROFIT organization that does not state the amount of money donated to the cause. I will never ever click one of those 'click this everyday" links and give some CEO's more pocket change. Me doing staff.
BrineShrimp
Didn't read your post that carefully... meh. I suppose I'll take out the link if you are so stronly against the CEO. Thought you were generalizing the sites, a thousand pardons. Did I say that you had to donate to them? No, I merely advised you to do so. In the websites, there are stories about the people in need, their purposes are not entirely to make money. If you REALLY want me to, I can post the content of the websites, but lets not waste my time, eh? Celt23
Seattle doesn't have major homeless problems. LA and NYC are probably alot worse.
BrineShrimp
I didn't expect you to read that XD. Any click these sites take money from the advertisers on their sites each time you click. This money is dived into three portions, one goes to the cause, another goes to pay for the site, and the last goes to the CEO's behind it all. How the money is divided is not told to the public I believe. Me doing staff.

Barihawk
Serial kidnappings in Mexico of women that has been going on for 20 years now. How about the plight of the Mexican people in general? Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Reagan have all tried to put pressure on the Mexican government to share it's wealth, but there is honestly little the US can do due to NAFTA and NATO. It's up to the citizens of the world to help fight for the plight of these people. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

Gotta say... they've got a cheek asking others to share the wealth lol. America does not have a severe problem with wealth distribution. Not to mention that Clinton, Daddy, and Reagan all started like you and me and made their fortunes. The current Bush was obviously born into his family's money, but still works for a living. In Mexico, the rich sit on their butts and don't work. The peasantry (the fact that I use that term denotes a problem) work like slaves and make less than 5 bucks a day on the high end. Add to this no welfare system or social security of any kind and you can honestly see why illegals come here. We can't solve illegal immigration until Mexico gets it's act together. Barihawk
So you guys think New York, Boston and Los Angeles have habitation problems? That Mexico City? I've seen similar pictures. Something like 10,000+ people live in what we would call a single city block. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Zonorhc
you're making a thread about all the bad things in the world? so what happened to all of the countless good things? :-k We don't need to complain and whinge about the good things. And you know, if they bothered to implement a decent welfare and social security scheme in Mexico, their population problem would actually decrease in the long term. This is, of course, due to the simple ecological fact that children in wealthier societies are more expensive to raise, and thus there will be less of them. At present, people are driven to have more children because A) They are cheaper to raise; and B) They can supplement the family's income with their own. Not the entire country, there are regions (most of it, really) with lower densities than 1 person per square kilometer. Anyway, that's Rio de Janeiro. All of those "favelas" are ruled by drugdealing organizations, too. Which have, recently, kicked the national security forces out of their hill under heavy gunfire. ^The most disturbing signature on Tip.it^Last.fm|HELLY KAYLA!|Oh the mehagurtz!|#Siencemakers"they care less about their spelling mistakes then I." - Lionheart"apinagez... let me
