Buy a dumbell set, and suddenly you have a wealth of home exercises available to you. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

rushrock
You might as well have named this topic "Post here to brag about yourself like all of the jocks at my school about how much you can bench." Viktorkrum77
Am I the only one who doesn't bench? Because seriously, if I went to a rich school, or maybe had a car I would, but that's American funding for you. Me doing staff.
Celluzion
What does going to a rich school or having a car have to do with benching? I take a bus ride 30 minutes to the nearest gym every alternate day to work out. My school has a gym, but all 5 Polytechnic Institutes in Singapore have them. Known formerly as Ameoba3000. Now known as Vigoss.

It's usually only rich schools that have weight rooms and such. Our converted department store excuse for a school isn't exactly up to those standards. But that's where I figure most people learned how much they could bench from. My city really doesn't have public transportation, what does exist, doesn't come near where I live. I wish in America you could walk EVERYWHERE like here in Guinea. Me doing staff.
Mr_Putter
Am I the only one who doesn't bench? Because seriously, if I went to a rich school, or maybe had a car I would, but that's American funding for you.Why you call it benching? There's more to weightlifting than just benching? Personally, I have an amazing weight room, all to myself. I would estimate....8-9 bikes, 5 ellipticals, 5 treadmills, 7 benches (incline, decline, convertible and regular), a full dumbell set (as in, 2-3 pairs of each weight, save for the like 100+ dumbells that no one uses), full barbell wrack, and pretty well every essential and non-essential machine you would ever need (we'll just say, if you tell me an excercise I can do it). [This is all just to give you an idea, not like I need to ride 7 bikes at a time.Though I am crazy enough to try.] How did I manage this? The two football coaches at my school are workout junkies and advocates for their players to work out. Now, I'm not a football player, but for 25 bucks a semmester I can go in at any time between about 7:30am-4:30pm. I have a spare first period, and unlike most people who just take an extra hour of sleep, I go in and work out 3-4 days a week. It's absolutely about the sickest thing that's ever happened. I only weigh 125 pounds (I'm pretty strong for my size, I'm just extremely lean). I can't really do max bench type of stuff, because without a spotter, I would DIE. :ohnoes: And there is charts where you do 5 of a certain weight and it shows you, but I don't want to do that either because it, too, can be risky. So until I get a spotter, I can't check, but if I were to guess...Probably 115-120% of my bodyweight maybe? That's actually not that much when you actually think about it (143-150), but compared to my bodyweight I wouldn't say that's too bad. Also, my chest isn't very big :(. My arms are not too bad size-wise though.

I lift with 20+ people in our school weight room, since theres not much equipment it takes a LONG time to get a good 5+ machine workout in. kido14
You might as well have named this topic "Post here to brag about yourself like all of the jocks at my school about how much you can bench." Every single post you make is negative. This ultra-rad teenage rebel attitude is getting old. Get a life. And for every negative post I have is an idiotic response (not as dumb as this one in most cases, I admit) written by you. I'm used to you telling me this every time I post, but you're said anything so dumb. At least when I make my posts I try to include an extra something that might or might not contribute to the thread, unlike you. And like always you only take the negative part of my post out. Your posts have evolved from being a quote and a "+1" do this. It's still spam but I don't know which one is dumber. At least my posts relate to the thread rather than yours which could easily be PMed to me. I thought about ignoring this post of yours, but it was just way too dumb. If I see someone post something stupid I'm generally going to call them out on it. This is a good example of confirmation bias, as I somewhat recently learned in psychology. I do have some good posts (somewhere  ) but I just haven't really had the time to think/type intelligent and long posts recently. You only notice the negative ones because those are the ones you WANT to see, granted my negative:not negative post ratio isn't so great, but still. Mr_Putter: Get someone to come work out with you? :-s I have a question. Would I still get a fair amount of muscle if I worked out in college? I'm pretty sure I was prime time for building muscle like a year ago just from stuff I've heard people say. I lifted a ton of weights in middle school a few times a week after school but it really didn't do too much. I haven't really lifted actual weights much for the past couple years, and when I do work out its only either basketball(I know, this won't build up muscles as much although it helps my legs a bit), push ups, crunches, calf raises, and things to work on my quads. Many of your posts are direct flaming at the user. Seriously. If you have nothing good to contribute, then don't contribute at all. Want to know another great example of one of those posts?
