My First Rate This, 70+ All. (STORY TIME)

Hello everyone, I'm Dodongo and this is my first Rate This! thread. I have spent a good amount of time working on this goal (since January) and I can tell you it hasn't been pretty. Each one of my 70's has a story to it, so I guess I'll just go through them in Chronological order.

Here are the earliest stats I could find, from when I came back to Runescape last year on the 23rd of June.

My main goal then was to get 70 Ranged, in F2P. I did after a week on 30k xp a day, quite a lot for me back then. That was my second 70, and one of my favourites (my first being fletching, which I haven't trained to this day). I remember meeting a lot of people there, some of which I still know today. It was pretty epic - I remember I was ecstatic when I finally reached it, getting 100k xp in a day (OMG!) so I could have it sooner rather than later. Here is the picture.

This was all part of my quest to get a Crystal Bow, which I completed ending in this.

After this, I thought to myself what I needed, and one thing came to mind. Money - and lots of it. What was one of the best ways for this (or so I thought at the time)? Well, fishing of course! So, another week of getting 60k xp a day and a big grind on the weekend to get 70 Fishing, one of my favourite skills.

And then came Summer. Here, I grinded every day to make 10m on 100k/h, and bought a Dragon Chainbody. I immediately sold lol. Then, I got all my combats to 70 (no picture for you sorry). That concluded my summer.

Then, I was back to F2P, and I decided it was time to start setting me some goals again. I decided to get 70 Woodcutting and Mining, still in F2P. These were OK, no major stories. However, I was annoyed by the sound effects of the woodcutting - I thought I had turned them off, because the bar was all the way down. Turns out it was just above 0 lol.

Then, I decided to go for 80 Melees, and in the process 70 Slayer. This was hard, I stopped playing many times, in which I got this.

This was easy. Got 550k xp in a day without breaking a sweat. :)

It was a bumpy road, but, nonetheless I attained my goal and here they are.

OK, so this is the time I believe I really started trying for 70+. It was half term, and I had a week off school. I decided to get 70 Agility, thinking it would take all week (from 60). I was wrong, I was so impatient I decided to go from 64 - 70 in a day. I did, with time to spare, in fact. I actually rather enjoyed, especially since my good friend D Jay did some of it with me (back when he was going for 80+ all!).

The same week I decided to get 70 Thief. This took two days from 50 ish to 70. Not as fun, but bearable because the xp was so quick.

Here is where I hit my first major snag. Runecrafting. Oh boy oh boy. This was hard. It took me 4 weeks to get from 68 to 70, I had truly burnt myself out at that point, untill one day, I grit my teeth and just did it. It wasn't even that much xp. Funny, how even after 70 I came back to get an extra 5 levels doing Natures for money.

Unfortunately, as I did ZMI from 60 - 70, I lost a bit of money, meaning I was still poor, and I had the buyables to get through as well.

After this came Hunter. I did this every now and then, taking a break from Runescape in general. I then set aside a few days and got 70 while watching Bleach. I made a nice amount of money from this, but still nowhere near the mountain of cash I needed for the buyables.

Here is where I decided to make things a little more fun and instead of just purely slaying for cash, I decided to get a Mining level every Slayer level (I find Mining fun). It was enjoyable, however, I quit after finding that Slayer just wasn't good enough cash. So, I turned to my Arch Nemesis - Runecrafting. I took out all my money, bought supplies and I runecrafted a lot. 70 - 75 on Natures, making me a lot of money. However, this still wasn't enough, so I decided to get Herblore out of the way in case prices went crazy, and get 60 - 70 Crafting on Flax.

It was slow, yes. But I made a nice amount of money in the process. I spun 35k Flax in 5 days, it was pretty intense. And I had school.

Then, I went to Stealing Creation to get some hammers for Construction. I had a blast, and came back with a lot of tools. I got 55 - 70 Construction in a day. That was pretty cool.

Then, I spent the last dregs of my money on Prayer. I had to ectofunt the last bit. Prayer training is very boring, no matter how quick, because it's just so god damn expensive - especially these days. Nonetheless, I got this in reasonable time (a few days).

And there it was. The end was in sight. Just Summoning left, surely it couldn't be that hard? I slayed for a while, and I realised yes, it was. It took me a good amount of tasks to get enough Crimsons, even with the 150 Blues I had saved from my slaying, but eventually I had enough, and I thought the hard part was over. I was wrong. Summoning costs a lot of money. I Runecrafted yet more, doing 5 or 6 Graahks a day, untill I had enough money. I sold my whip, making 1m profit as I bought at the low price last summer. I then put in my offers on the Grand Exchange and waited. I bought most of them on max as I was so impatient. I then spent an hour and a half training, get 400k xp, 100k of that in 5 minutes (Blue Charms FTW). The end result being this, and the completeion of my goal.

Goals now? Getting all stats to the nearest 5 or 0, then on to the monster that is.

99 Runecrafting, Agility and Mining. I really don't set nice goals, do I?

Next, I would like to thank RsStats (Bauke and Nepica) for tracking my stats and making me see what was possible. Seriously, I looked at your stats every day when you were getting 99 Runecrafting and Max Total Bauke. You were getting like 150k a day, so I thought to myself, why can't I do that for one day?

And also, this forum, for making me see what was possible, and making me want to best all the achievements in it. However, it'll be a while untill that.

And finally, FSC, Codguy's chat, or ESC, Evil Mumm Ra's chat, or for a short amount of time, Blogworld, Th3 Crusader's chat. Everyone in there, I couldn't have done it without you. You guys own, and I <3 all of you forever. Even you, Ray.

I got mine like a year ago (before summoning), then quit for around a year.

Came back, and with 1 summoning, I felt so 70'less :(

You could now make your goal to get all 80+, that's what I made mine :)

Haha, I have been thinking about 80+ but I have decided against it for now. Too much like hard work. Maybe later. And I put you in Trech, how could I forget! And yeah I spent ages writing this story D Jay :)
