Seanthorn
Many people, i have heard, have been complaining about a new, but hidden update. It is technically impossible to powermine Granite now. Why? Because you now need to bring Waterskins to the Granite/Sandstone (Below Bandit Camp) to survive. Before, you could just go to the mine and mine away without the heat hitting you. Now, you need to bring waterskins and top-up every now and then. Me, and probably everone else, is hoping this is a glitch, and not an update. IS THIS THE END OF POWERMINING GRANITE??? WILL YOU STILL USE THE GRANITE MINE, OR GO BACK TO IRON???
easonadam
the granite mine is in the desert right? (please correct me if i'm wrong) so it would make sense for you to need waterskins.

Yes you are correct. But, why would people powermine there if they knew they were going to have to top-up on Waterskins? Before, about 3 days ago, when you get to the mine, you didn't need Waterskins to survive. NOW, you do.
Peronix
...please don't tell me this is the same at the bandit camp  (I could care less about mining... hate the skill)
Seanthorn
I think so... lol. I know it is at the mine, after about 2-3 mins, it says (Cause i always take 1 Waterskin on way back, as i ent paying 200gp!!! {Rip}) You have a bit of water! So it might be... Umega
Jagex said that this is an intentional fix. Seeing as you are in the desert anyway it would seem fair that all the desert should be made hazardous. Unfortunatly for miners this is not a glitch/bug. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
Seanthorn
Well thats like.... 90% of all wanna-be member 85 miners, erm... 'peed' off. That 90% includes me. And, can you answer, is it also Bandit Camp?? Where did you get this information from?
wakka102
Thats ridiculous. So all the people who power mined there to 99 got a quicker shortcut then others? thats lame... *goes to the rants board on official boards*

But I have a few RS friends who has been going for 99 mining but now has given up. A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have small purple pet elephants named Jack. Put this in your sig if you are one of the 8% who like to do the fandango on Wednesday afternoons
Seanthorn
Lol yea, technically, they have been abusing a bug, takign advantage of not getting 'hot' in the mine. But, that makes me banned aswell... i gained 16 levels from this place lol. (And i don't want that to happen, i'm on 10.0 blackmarks!! )

How about the "PC" generation who don't actually train the stats but use Pest Control points towards it. People who live at PC to get their combat stats up. I'm glad this is one less "power" train option =D> Or at least, making it a bit more of a pain to do. I understand that many may not like my old fashioned to training approach and that's fine  Vine is waving at me. What? What was that?! poiuytreza2
It should have been done long ago. And if you powermined there it isnt fair against all the people who got 99 mining elsewhere, TAH! --- Since januari/februari 2001 ---The Grand Exchange Search Extension
Seanthorn
But PC is a game where you CAN "powerlevel" your combat levels. They made the game so you can spend points on gaining combat points. I don't think jagex intended to make Granite a place to "powermine". I, and basically every member miner, took advantage of this and mined away without dying of heat. Now Jagex ahs taken that advantage away. Bit like rare items. When they got dropped, i don't think Jagex intended them to be the expensive items in the game? And if anyone remembers, the Camo gear, was once, tradable! Worth around 1M for the set. They also took that away from traders, making it untradable a week later after the camo release.

It use to be that things in your inventory auto dropped when were full but now they don't so its a very tedious skill. This just makes it more tedious. The skill is almost dead so why make it more dead?
