Ah the heated debate continues... on why people need to steryotype people who listen to emo, so post your comments on the subject.

Simple, its horrible music, and scene kids need to DIAF. Here we perfectly have NORMAL kids, whining and complaining about their lives because of the music's influence. The message is ridiculous, and I fear for music's future if this keeps up.

But I can easily argue.. the same message being passed on by other forms of music.. why can you so easily diss one genre when most others do the same.. How can you insult one form. when mosts others easily do the same to people

Because emo music, unlike other genres, sends suicidal messages to the kids. I can't stand for that.

BTW I'm talking REAL emo music, raw emo, not the subgenres of it that have branced off.

Two real problems with that

A) You use such a steryotypical view of emo, rather than knowing anything

B) There are easily other genres of music that bring suicide into the picture.. rather than just emo

So you made this thread specifically to bicker with the first naysayer? Hell, I'm a professional arguer, I'm up for it.

Emo sends bad messages, have you ever interacted with an "emo" kid? For one to say this is something to "not worry about" it simply defies all logic. After all, there IS a reason everybody hates the genre and its followers......you know.

I just find the whole music and scene to be pretentious, unoriginal and super-ficual.

Since it seems that you know your stuff, atleast that is what you make us believe. Would you like to put up some "Emo" songs that are different then the songs we know?

"An excuse for wannabe goths to be depressive"...meh i don't like the music for a start, and the suicidal messages it sends out shouldn't be targeted at an audience, they should be discovered by those who want to be discovered.

Emo just sucks. Its just a bunch of kids who want attention and say they'll kill themselves. Music sucks too.

It is awful music. I'm not really sure how some people can make their living by crying into a microphone but it sure has worked.

Plus.... I hate the "scene" and everything about it. If I see one more girl walking around with split bangs and bracelets, I might start cutting myself. :lol:

Emo music itself just sucks. Period. I don't much care for the musical style. I have alot of friends that listen to emo. Do I hate them? No. I just won't ride in their car with them because they're always listening to it.

Yeah, emo is a bad influence and we should hate it. But then again, we should hate all these other genres because they are also a bad influence...Yes we should actually. Maybe not the genre but the bands that send bad messages... It's just that most of the "Emotional Rock" bands sing a lot about suicide just like most "Rap" singers talk about cars, jewelrey, money, etc.

its just all oppinions...of which some peoples are better

some emo is good..if it has a good bass and drums and not whining singing but i geuss that defeats the purpose...but some is good.definately close to the middle upper half of the genres i like...i like all those listed by mypurplecrayon...but metal is a big hated...more than rap

I listen to a little bit of just about everything, except for emo.

You seem to enjoy jumping on my posts, I really wouldn't make a habit of that if I were you.

No, everyone who listens to emo has soemthing wrong with their taste in music. I mean WHO can stand [cabbage]ty 3 chord backgrounds with whiny vocals and drummers that (I swear it's true) sounds like they're havining epileptic seizures on the drums.

cant stand emo altogether, its just goes on about pointless stuff not that id stand listening to it for more than a minute i just happen to catch it cos my sister likes some of the bands
