Thanks Cad your tutorial made me do this. Yeah well it's not the best of works .. but I'm pretty darn proud. My first works. Any C/C would be appreciated most .. and I hardly know the tool's names so don't mention them. Thanks if you do reply. Oh btw this is my second attempt at photoshop As you can see in the signature .. but with a tutorial. I think I'm an Abstract artist in the making.

My first one with Cadbury's tutorial.

This one didn't turn out so good.

This new one I just made. The render had a black background but then it wouldn't all go so meh, but I think I've got the general idea:

Gaara was too big of a render. I think I ruined this one but meh, I try:

Swoot, more people who used my tutorial. :D

Anyway,

  • [*:29gdpg3n]Border.

Try to keep it to 1px black, other things generally look fairly tacky. But if you want to include some colour; use a 1px black but give it a stroke of a colour from the render.

    [*:29gdpg3n]Render.

Set the bigger render to overlay, it looks quite INYOURFACEOMG at the moment.

    [*:29gdpg3n]Text placement.

It'd probably do better in the gap between the hair and arm/shoulder. Text doesn't always have to be in a corner. It looks like it has a blurred version behind it? If it does, make it's opacity a bit bigger. If not, do it. :P

    [*:29gdpg3n]Text.

Make it a tad smaller and lower the opacity by ~10-20%.

    [*:29gdpg3n]Blending.

It really needs it, a signature with no blending looks really quite bad. Even just a bit of feathering is better than nothing.

    [*:29gdpg3n]Colouring.

    Needs moar.

yeah, one is too blurry, and the other too sharp and visible, try using a lower opacticy (SP?). your font for the first one is smooth, the sig looks sharp, as stated in cad's tut (finally got a chance to look at it  ). looks to me like there are few layers....the more the merrier ~Gangas Khan (SP?), just don't filter it a bizzilion times....get a nice set of brushes, and some renders.....

also, for renders try my little shoppe.....

Newest one.

Much better. :)

  • [*:nmc2lmvc]Small render.

Try sharpening it, it's quite blurry. Then feather it a bit. (~4px)

    [*:nmc2lmvc]Large render.

    Feather it a bit. (~7px)

    [*:nmc2lmvc]Colour.

It's a bit off, your render is mostly orangey/reds, you should make it that. Also it looks like you are using a H&S layer. You should use a cloud layer set to overlay.

    [*:nmc2lmvc]Contrast.

Up it a bit. Signature looks quite flat at the moment. Make the adjustment layer above the brushing but below the renders. (~5 brightness, ~20 contrast)

    [*:nmc2lmvc]Text.

This is good, it's simple and not at all obstructive or OMGINYOURFACE. Perhaps add a motion blurred line under it?

Getting better. ;)

Hey thanks Beesafree. I will use your shop, I have just looked at it, it's good. I have tried lowering the opacity .. and I have no idea what a filter is lol. I have 5 background layers and 14 other ones.

Thanks for the advice Cadbury. I have done everything you said except the colouring .. The thing is, when you said to make a background, I chose the purple instead of black, and now I don't know how to change it. I guess that was my bad ..

Yay, Vincent. ^^ I like that one better than the rest... although the left side of the sig could use something to break the blank black. Don't know what though, I'm afraid, because I don't make abstracts... you'll want to wait for the other guys. :P

You're definitely improving though, keep it up. :D

They all look sweet except that the render that you used for one of the gaara ones (the one with gaara in the middle) makes him look like a, uhhhh, the word i'm trying to say will be Bleeped... Well.... it makes him look like a boy trying to look like a girl..... That was actually pretty hard to explain  . It makes him look like he has makeup on. Other than that, your signatures are wicked.
