Kaida23
Excellent news everyone. Today I have taken yet another step towards the end of my long journey. Level 97!!! :twss: [spoiler=woot!] Not bad for three weeks, eh? Nice to see the new ancient effigies have some pretty high level content. Only two levels left to go, and about the same amount of Xp left as I started with at level 81. There is a small problem though, that I only noticed today. Apparently the addition of the Dungeoneering also added 1 to my overall level, meaning my plan to reach 99 Mining and 900 overall has gone a bit sideways. Not much to be done about it at this point but move forward. I'll just get 901 overall with my 99 Mining. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Kaida23
He might be taking another break. :( Oh well - good luck!I'm like the Cheshire Cat, appearing and then disappearing as quickly as I came. Seriously though, life has a way of cutting into gaming time. Once again I had my kids for the summer, and RS kind of fell by the wayside but I have returned...sort of. Haven't had much time for playing lately, but I was able to get in and complete the Cryptic Clue Fest II: ...and did a little wardrobe shopping I absolutely love the Investigator's outfit! <3: I think it's the best looking thing F2P has gotten since GOP and the Runecrafter's robes. Jagex definitely has set the bar for futue event rewards pretty high. My problem is since we've also gotten a basic clothing update I'm torn as to what I'm going to wear. I'm not even sure which of my two basic outfits I like better. :-k The Investigator outfit is awesome, but the basic outfit matches my mask like nothing else (seriously, why was that the only thing Jagex ever gave us in that shade of blue? #-o). I'm going to have a difficult decision to make. I'm hoping I can start getting some more game time in again when my boys go back to school in a couple of weeks. Look for more regular updates to start up again. Getting 99 mining and 1000 skill total at the same time would be even more epic. :razz:I've actually been considering it, but getting another 99 levels across the rest of my skills would delay my getting 99 Mining quite a bit. If I knew for certain when (or even if) Jagex was going to be releasing the F2P skill items, then I would definitely take to the time get 1000 total at the same time. can't wait for your lvl 99! having a party?:)I'm definitely coming to your party. I really hope you're having one. <3:I certainly am! You don't achieve something like this without bragging to...er, I mean celebrating with your friends. Watch for details as I get closer. ...can u tell me your secret on how to become a pro mechanter xD.There's not much to it. Really. I've found a couple of items that I can buy and sell quite rapidly, and I'm fairly aggressive with my pricing to help keep things moving quickly. I'd rather make a couple of gp less per item and have it sell right away than wait two days for max profit. The trick is to find items that are traded heavily and can be bought/sold in large quantities quickly. Raw materials (ores, ess, raw fish, etc...) have worked the best for me. It's been a couple of months so I'm going to have to test my items again and see if they still work. Wow! A long one today. Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone. Hopefully it won't be another two months 'till my next post. :P Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Youmu
Get 15 dungeoneering and use the Dwarven Mine resource dungeon to bank your iron ores. Kaida23
Get 15 dungeoneering and use the Dwarven Mine resource dungeon to bank your iron ores.I started reading up on the new release and...wow! I hadn't realized the Dungeoneering resource dungeon update was so robust: - a bank box in the Dwarven Mine - a total of 13 more Mithril rocks, 4 more Adamant rocks and 3(!) more Runite rocks - 8 Maple trees (F2P can now cut Maples!!!) It's a veritable F2P skiller's wet dream.I'm not too sure which rewards are new, but I don't recall the gem bag in the initial release and it would be very helpful to have on the rest of my climb to 99 Mining. Now I'm really considering putting off my mining for a while and descending into the depths of Deamonhiem so I might reap the rewards of this latest update. If I like it and the leveling goes well, I might just put off 99 Mining for a bit and get 1000 total at the same time. Or at the very least get 25 Dung so I can get the gem bag and then get back to mining again. An excellent alternative to simply dropping ores (which I absolutely hate).Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either but since I'm making good money merching I figured it pretty much evened out. With the resource dungeon update, I'm seriously reconsidering it though. Does anyone know if using the bank box in the Dwarven Mine resource dungeon has a serious effect on xp/hour? Kaida23
Okay, this is a big one blog fans so hold on to your browsers. It's been a couple of weeks since my last entry and I have much to report. To make things easier I'm going to break everything up into sections. [spoiler=Section 1 - 900 total]I decided to give Dungeoneering a try, but I didn't want to overshoot 900 total and miss getting a pic. I had a couple of skills pretty close to leveling up, and a large stock of stuff in my bank that I've picked up while wandering around the GE, so I took out some bones and some fish and got the following: [spoiler=44 Prayer and 900 total!] [spoiler=62 Cooking]Yay, I can cook Monkfish! The stuff I've picked up just hanging around the GE over the last few months is amazing. The uncut gems are the only things I didn't find there. Yes, I found 141 big bones noted on the ground at the GE. In F2P. So now with the 900 total milestone out of the way, it was time to take a trip to the mysterious land of Daemonhiem. [spoiler=Section 2 - Dungeoneering]I've decided to take a small break from mining, dust myself off and see what Dungeoneering is all about. [spoiler=My first trip to Daemonhiem]I began my journey in the horrible microwave known as Al-Kharid, where I spoke to a grumpy, bearded fellow who was obviously overdressed for the heat. I don't know why he was so grumpy, it's his own fault for wearing furs in the desert. He took me to a strange, and barren land he called Daemonhiem. Where I saw many strange and curious things. And a nice fellow gave me a ring...I hope he wasn't trying to propose. I learned all about the dungeons and how I couldn't take anything in or out because of some horrible somethingorother in the dungeons...wait, why am I going down into this Saradomin-forsaken place again? [spoiler=Oh, right...] I'd like to say my first few forays into the dungeons were wildly successful with no mistakes or anything, but I'm sure we all now better than that. My very first floor I accidentally bound a Marmaros full helm instead of the Death Runes. #-o Not too much of a problem, just destroy the helm and bind the runes and it's all gravy right? Oh, if only good reader. I thought I would venture forth without the support of Tip.It's encyclopedic knowledge base of boss monsters, and spent nearly 30 minutes trying to kill a Gluttonous Behemoth before finally figuring it out. Ah well, it was still enjoyable and I've been going back down for the last couple of days. I think I've even finally figured out when to reset my prestige (after three floors of not realizing I should have, and getting 0 prestige for them). I got some good starting tips from Sonic's F2P Dungeoneering Guide, like binding a Fractite spear, which I never would have thought of and is working great. (thanks Sonic ) At the very least I'm going to get my Dungeoneering to level 15 (currently level 6) so I can access the deposit box in the Dwarven Mine, but I'm enjoying it so much I may just keep right on going with it for a little while. Not too long though, so don't worry. Already I hear the siren call of my beloved Mining luring me back. [spoiler=Section 3 - Everything else]While I was working my way through the dungeons this morning, I realized I had gained a level and hadn't even noticed. I guess I was enjoying myself too much. [spoiler=Constitution level 52] I also realized I forgot to post an updated cash pile shot (this is from last Thursday). [spoiler=62M gp!] The bonus Xp weekend gave a huge boost to my merching last week. I made over 5M in three days! I'm also going to start updating the image in my other blog about once a week. Feel free to check it out. *whew*I really need to start posting updates a little more often. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. SwreeTak
You're doing some great progress. To get level 99 Mining is incredible hard in F2P, but you're really close to it now. Kaida23
I sense somebody will become a pro dungeon raider soon ;)Perhaps faster than I realize. I opened up two more floors today. [spoiler=Check it out] [spoiler=I also gained a defense level] It's hard to get a proper screenshot of a combat level though. When I started, the complexity of the first 6 floors kept going up (as I assume it does for everyone at first) and only opened up three floors. Of course I didn't realize how the prestige worked then... :wall: but I've done 4 C6 floors in the last couple of days and opened up 3 more, which means I can do at least 2 more before I have to reset. At this rate, I should reach level 15 in the next couple of days. The floors are taking a lot longer than I thought though; at least 35 minutes for a small. Maybe I shouldn't worry quite so much about finding everything, or trying to make the best armor I can each time. Oh, and speaking of armor, I finally found/bought enough Fractite to make a full set of armor (including gloves/boots). [spoiler=Aww yeah!] Looks awesome, no? Usually I end up with a mix-and-match setup made from whatever I can find, but this last dungeon really paid off. Too bad I can't take it with me. LatinII
Amazing progress you've been making lately  As for Dungeoneering: since you're FTP, it may be a good idea to bind 125 law runes. This way, when you're soloing, you can always teleport to your group gatestone (which you get at the beginning of a floor) without having to create runes first. What I do is when I start a new dungeon, I pick the higher tier food from the table, whatever equipment there is on the table and sell the equipment to the Smuggler and buy a toolkit and a couple of rune essence and craft them into cosmic runes. This way, you can gatestone any door that takes a while to get to to speed things up and maximize your XP/hr. Oh, and I'm sure Sonic has already mentioned this, but bind a platebody to you once you hit level 50.
Youmu
Oh, and I'm sure Sonic has already mentioned this, but bind a platebody to you once you hit level 50.NO. In free play, you don't really need armor at all. Instead, you should use your 2nd bind on a different aspect of the combat triangle (either ranged or magic). Kaida, the reason why you take so long is because you're overpreparing. >.> You don't really need to skill, make armor, or even prepare food at this stage. Most of the bosses in the early floors are pretty straightforward lol. Oh and if you plan on maging at all, get 54/65 rcing for laws/deaths. It's better to craft them then bind, as you should use your ammo slot on arrows if you can. Kaida23
Today's Dungeoneering was especially productive. [spoiler=Here's where I'm at now] I gained 12 levels today, and a Strength level to boot! The resource dungeons were especially helpful, gaining me a total of 6 levels on their own. Not bad for just walking through a couple of doors. I'm getting better at going through the dungeons. I'm not worrying quite so much about getting Fractite armor every time, so I'm doubling back less, but I still need to get armor (not all of us are combat specialists ;) ). I've found that I can get enough cash to buy 8 Kratonite ore pretty easily and smith myself a nice plate suit, so all I have to do is worry about opening the rooms and beating the boss. I've also started working on the Lumbridge Hard Achievement diary. I've done what I could, which is about half, but I'm going to have to raise my Crafting, Prayer and Runecrafting levels in order to complete it. I'm hoping I can get my Craft/Prayer done by Saturday, but I need 6 RC levels so that might take a bit longer. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Kaida23
Happy Saturday everyone! I made a lot of progress last night getting my Crafting to level 50 and my Prayer to level 45. [spoiler=Crafting levels 44-50][spoiler=level 44] [spoiler=level 45] [spoiler=level 46] [spoiler=level 47] [spoiler=level 48] [spoiler=level 49] [spoiler=level 50] [spoiler=Prayer level 45] I was crafting gold amulets and it worked really well. I even made some profit from them! Which was good considering I spent about 100k on bones to get my Prayer level up. I've now only got one task left to complete the Lumbridge Hard diary: craft 100 or more water runes simultaneously. So I'll be alternating between Dungeoneering and Runecrafting for the next few days. Hopefully I can get 57 RC by the end of the week. Speaking of Dungeoneering, I got level 25 this morning and was able to enter the Karamja resource dungeon, which gave me another two levels. [spoiler=Dungeoneering levels 25 and 27][spoiler=level 25] [spoiler=level 27] Woot! Levels galore! After grinding away at a high level skill for over a year, it's been nice to gain nearly 40 levels in a week. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Youmu
A side note - you don't NEED to have 57 rc to craft 100 water runes at the same time. At your current level this is still possible thanks to the "more runes" update.
