It's an interesting thought, but I bet that it'd be spammed, Tip.It has its share of trolls and the like. Ah well

It's an interesting idea, although moderating it and keeping out spammers and trolls would be a bit of an issue. At the same time, a lot of our community uses either the forums or the IRC chat to talk for the most part, I'm not sure how much a shoutbox would be used. I'll pass this along to the rest of the staff and see what they think.

I would much rather people come post on the forums! Less impersonal :)

I think we have to many people visiting the website, the shoutbox would be useless because it would be filled up in no time.

A shoutbox would have far too many messages posted in it to be appropriately moderated. Especially with a website that's so heavily trafficked.

 

Even on the forums it would be difficult.
