tripsis
Time for a new release of the: >>>Tip.It Times!<<< WRITE FOR THE TIMES - SUBMIT A GUEST ARTICLE:Remember, YOU can write an article for the Tip.It Times! You can apply to write full time, or just submit a "one-off" guest article any time you want! Our editors will work with you to ensure that your article is ready for publication. All guest articles can be submitted to @tripsis or any other Editorial Panel member. For more information, including details on how to apply full time, read this forum thread: http://forum.tip.it/topic/209138-how-to-write-for-the-tipit-times/ I'd like to remind people of the rules pertaining to Times threads: [hide=Read these rules before posting in this thread]Rampant flame wars have taken control of virtually every week's times discussion topics. The following guidelines must be followed when posting on this topic. Posts that ignore these guidelines will be removed. 1. You are invited and welcome to express like or dislike on articles and a particular author's writing style. It is not acceptable, however, to flame or personally insult an author. Posts that aren't anything but an attack will be removed from the topic. 2. Spelling and grammar errors can be reported to tripsis by PMing her and they will be fixed promptly. It is not necessary to post them on the discussion topic. 3. Off topic posts that do not discuss the content of that week's articles will be removed. This is not the place to discuss the direction of the times, how much you love or hate the times, etc. Off topic posts will be removed. By keeping within these guidelines, Times discussion topics will mean more for the Panel and Administration than just a place for flame wars. Flame wars do not provide any useful feedback to the Times, which is mainly what we're aiming for with these topics: feedback. This policy is effective as of now, November 17, 2010. Any posts prior to the creation of this policy may or may not be removed according to the new guidelines.[/hide] [hide=Submitting Crossword Puzzles]If you want to submit your own crossword puzzle, it's quite simple. Simply provide a word list (about 10-20 words) with their corresponding clues. Then, message @The Floating Pen with the word list and it will eventually be published in the Tip.it Times![/hide] When replying please make sure to clarify the article you are replying to! Thanks! If you spot any typos or mistakes in an article then please PM them to @tripsis. :) Enjoy the articles! - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
J35u5_M4
I think the Magic Fix was required, it gave magic a way bigger advantage than the other styles in low level PvM, and magic still has the upper hand in high level PvM with seismic weaponry and tectonic armor. In fact, many times people with dual drygores (t90) were being outdps'd by chaotic staves (t80)
Pirkka
Loved the first article, a fine point was made about yesteryears whine. 40,919th person to access Turmoil. 21,559th person to access Overloads. Riptide Mage
I think the Magic Fix was required, it gave magic a way bigger advantage than the other styles in low level PvM, and magic still has the upper hand in high level PvM with seismic weaponry and tectonic armor. In fact, many times people with dual drygores (t90) were being outdps'd by chaotic staves (t80) You must be joking? Tectonic and Seismic are completely unreachable for the vast majority of players. It makes perfect sense that players with a t80 weapon casting t95 spells were doing more damage than t90 melee weapons. All this did was make magic unusable for high level anything. For ~230m you can get one t90 bow, or a mainhand drygore and two offhand drygores, or you could be barely 25% of the way to the offhand t90 magic gear. t90 magic gear will only go up in cost now as magic will be useless at vorago for anyone who previously used t80 magic weapons to kill him. You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.
Platinum_Myr
They should just make spells into ammo that you make via magic, and equip in the ammo slot... (and require that a staff uses equivalent ammo just like range...) They should either make it exactly like range/melee or make it unique. Not this mish-mash thing where magic is now horrid because they can't seem to release high level weapons evenly. The whole way they did everything is messed up... Kimberly
They should just make spells into ammo that you make via magic, and equip in the ammo slot fletch/rangerc/magic Stating that doesn't really disprove anything Platinum mentioned there. If anything, it compliments it. After all, it wouldn't be the first time runes are considered ammo. In dungeoneering, they're all lumped in as "ammo" groups. They should just make spells into ammo that you make via magic, and equip in the ammo slot... (and require that a staff uses equivalent ammo just like range...) What do you mean by equivalent ammo? If you're referring to how runite crossbows could only use rune and lower, magic bows rune and lower, and so on that was changed a bit ago. If not then please forgive me and help me out, because I'm not sure what you meant. :)
Platinum_Myr
Oh you can use any higher level ammo with lower level bows? Does it scale the ammo down though? Quyneax
Yes, ability damage is based on the lowest-tiered item out of ammo and weapon (or it was, after this update it needs to checked again, obviously).
