  1. If flax costs me 40 gp each when my popular support is at 100%, how much will flax cost me if the percentage drops to zero?
  2. First question... If my membership expires, with money in the coffers of my kingdom, do the workers keep collecting? I believe they will but I need someone to verify. Second question... Asuming that workers collect even after my membership expires, I plan on leaving a few million in the coffers. Is this a good idea? I have never really understood how the percentage of popular support affects the rewards. During my absence the percentage will continue to drop but how will this affect the outcome? Will the items I collect cost me more money or will they simply not collect as much? If anyone has any answers please post. Thanks.
  3. I remember mining and selling silver in the crafting guild trying to save up for a green halloween mask. Seemed like it took me forever to save up 300,000 gp... I still have that mask by the way.
  4. I started before the Guide or the Tutorial Island. I remember choosing a class when I started, I think I choose Miner first. Then I started over as an Adventurer because they started with a tinderbox and the Miner did not. It was several days later I found out you could buy a tinderbox at the general store.
  5. I started playing runescape sometime in that first year. My stats are not great but they are not bad either. My bank is decent, some barrows, some dragon, a mask I have managed to hang on to all these years. I have been thinking about starting over though. I don't want to make a skiller or a pure. I don't want to just level as fast as I can either. I have been thinking about how much Runescape has changed over the years. All the new updates, new quests, new areas, and new monsters. There have been alot of changes to the game that I would have enjoyed as a new character. Am I just crazy or does anyone else think it might be fun to start over? I know I would do things differently if I started over from scratch. I see alot of people posting on Rate This showing there new pures or skillers and all of the stuff there friends donated to them. I would want my new character to be self-sufficent, no relying on friends. In fact I would no longer even buy and sell raw materials. If I collect something, it means I am going to use it. No more selling pure ess to make a quick buck or buying coal because I was too lazy to get it myself. I have avoided some new dungeons, new quests, new monsters simply because there wasn't much of a reason for me to try it. I want to go back now and experience some parts of the game I have just skipped over. Maybe I'm just crazy. I havent made this new character yet. It is just something I have been thinking about. Anyone have any thoughts? UPDATE I went ahead an started a new character. I cancelled members on my character, and started members on my new character. I don't have much time to play anymore so I have been consentrating on questing right now. Its been fun questing, alot of the old quests have cut scenes now. I really think its gonna be fun starting over. I have read through everyones comments and I have appreciated the responses. Basically, I play Runescape for fun, and I think I'm going to have fun with this. If anyone wants to chat you can message me in game, I don't have much free time lately so I don't spend much time on the forums. New Character: Dryyn
  6. I totally forgot about the penguin army, it makes me laugh just thinking about it. Good luck with whatever you have ahead of you.
  7. Thats what you call organized? You need some help with that bank. : )
  8. Most people will tell you 100% maples and 50% flax but I think flax is easier to sell. I can sell maples but I find it is easier to sell flax. Also I tried coal once and it took me forever to sell the coal at 200 each.. I just stick with flax now.
  9. Hey thanks, I'm going to go check out that quest now.
  10. Ok, im pretty new to members, what hot air ballon are you talking about? I am guessing its a quest I haven't done maybe?
  11. I'm curious to find out the answer to this one too.. I've always mined clay in the mine south-west of Varrock. I bank in Varrock's west bank. I make my clay into soft clay at the water faucet north of Falador's west bank. I use the pottery wheel in the barbarian village. I have members now, so now I'm looking for a new way to do it.
  12. I dont remember much before sleeping bags and fatigue, so I think agility must have been the next skill to come out. I am not sure.... Maybe agility was around before sleeping bags..
  13. I walked into the blackarm gangs hideout and got spit on, apparently im pheonix. :D
  14. So I am getting ready to finish up the Heros Quest. I just realized that I don't remember what gang I am in. I need this information so I can find a partner.. Anyone know how I can find out that information? Thanks Runescape Name: Mucky Pup
  15. I got those earth runes that you dropped, I saw that other stuff you dropped but wasn't fast enough. Thanks for the runes.
  16. I saw you, you were making the end of the line look good in that lederhosen
  17. Seriously, whats up the role model stuff snopy? Anyway, heres what I got. Thanks for the party
  18. There is no real incentive to cook anything other than fish. At cooking level 40 you can sit on the dock with your lobster pot and tinderbox, catching and cooking as many lobsters as you want for 120 exp each lobster. Or At cooking level 40 you can round up buckets, milk cows, gather flour, and eggs, find a range and cook cakes for 180 exp each. The amount of work put into a cake is 10x more than cooking a lobster but there is very little reward for doing the extra work. You get alittle extra exp and a cake you can't sell because members can steal all they want. I personally would love to see the healing properties of cooked fish to be signifigantly lowered to put more emphasis on other foods. It has gotten better though. I remember complaining about this same thing 3 years ago and back then the exp for a cooked lobster was the same as a cake. So they have made changes, the changes were just not big enough to make a difference.
  19. I read through this whole post and I've been laughing about this line I read back on page one the whole time!
  20. I always turn the music off but leave the sound effects on. I tend to watch TV as I play Runescape.
  21. The Atari 2600 was pretty much my start-- when I couldn't get quarters for the arcades. Pitfall and Yars' Revenge were the best! I love Yars' Revenge!!!
  22. I can't believe you are suggesting this, don't you remember carrying sleeping bags around everywhere you went.. Man I hated fatigue..
  23. I decided to mine some rune essence today, something I very rarely do. I was surprized to see how many combat level 3, 4, and 5 I saw mining. Most of these low combat level players were using the default character appearance. I did not mine for very long before I started to lag so I switched worlds. When I switched worlds I saw even more of these low combat and default appearance characters. I started adding these people to my friendslist whenever I saw one. In two trips to the rune essence I found 12. They were all combat level 3-5 and all had the default appearance. All 12 characters I looked up on the highscores only showed on the mining list. The lowest mining level was 49 and the highest for 59. I have heard others complaining about all the autoers but I had not really experienced this myself intil today. I was suprized to see this after the mass bannings. One good thing happened when I was there. One of the low combat level guys had his rune pick head fly off. I went and picked it up and he just continued to stand at the rune essence rock. Apparently he had not figured that into his program yet.
  24. It always makes me laugh when someone tries this. :D
  25. I usually play use the window client I downloaded from the Runescape website. Otherwise I use IE, not sure what version, whatever came with xp.
