I think the reason it has become social etiquette is because they have wages lower than minimum. If they don't receive tips they will not be able to survive on that job. It's idiotic really, they should just be paid minimum wage and tips should be for excellent service. I hate the US more and more with every passing week.

Always found the idea of tipping every meal idiotic. You don't give people extra reward for doing their job (which they are rewarded already for in salary). Problem is, at least in the US, many waiters (most?) make sub minimum wage as said before, like under 3$ an hour. If they don't pull in tips they're [bleep]ed. I would prefer that waiters were paid minimum wage and tipping be reserved for exceptional service. And the tip would go only to your waiter, nobody else (rewarding others for one person's hard work...derp).

Neither of those posts encourage inefficiency. They offer alternatives that may be less efficient. That is not the same as encouraging it. And it was 1. dumb and 2. a rant in the first place. Not someone looking for maximum efficiency.

No. It depends what type you get. You can get ones with extra buttons for mapping, you can get extra sensitive buttons/triggers/sticks, you can get very lightweight or heavy controllers (even seen a few with adjustable weight inserts). I believe you can also have a completely custom made controller done just for your personal preference, whatever shape you like. Costs an arm and a leg though.
