  1. Nice guide valor, although it isn't money effective to mine ores and then smelt, you'd be better off selling the ores for 500 each and buying the bars for 200 each, or even finding somebody to do a 2;1 trade. The problem with guides like this, is it doesn't address the issue of time as a commodity(usually the reason why people are poor is because they lack time management skills and knowing when to spend and when not to) , if it did I think it'd help alot of players out, but hey thats just me.
  2. Personally I am kinda sick of the whole rares thing too , although what i'd rather jaqex do was track prices for a month on all rare items, average the price they were traded for (and then give a little extra) and then give that amount of GP to everybody with (a) rare(s). The only problem with this is its simply not feasible to do.
  3. Whats the armour do?
  4. Nice guide valor, although I wouldn't borther doing a construction guide just yet. Prices are likely to change and make differnt options more and less affordable, but hey thats just me. I am sure lots of people would like to see it.
  5. Anyways, I stocked up a few points before the release in the hopes it'd be good. I was hoping that I could finally cash in say 10 points at once, but you gotta wait for 100 untill the bonus. Here are the rewards I got: Herb pack(10 points): 3 harralander, 3 ranaar, 4 irit, 2 avantoe, 1 kwuarm (38,000gp, 3,800gp per point) Mineral pack(5 points): 25 coal, 18 iron ore (6,800gp, 1,360gp per point) I think they are pretty much useless, i'd personally perfer the xp.
  6. I hope the same truck hits you, too. First of all, don't insult people by calling them idiots. Second of all, do not DARE to call me a liar. Thirdly, no, lots of people on these forums would NOT break the rules for their own pixelated gains. Get off my forum. You suck. Sure he shouldn't have done it Leesters, but you really shouldn't wish for physical harm to come to somebody just because they did something wrong. A lot of young players look up to you on these forums and its understandable that you and everybody else is angry, but hoping somebody dies isn't a valid solution and I would have expected better from you. Disappointed in more than just durial. :(
  7. Is ectoing not 400% of normal bone experience? It is, but its also very slow form what I hear. It's pretty easy to teleport from your house to bank + use your butler to bring your bones, so I think this will be the new way to level prayer.
  8. If they change the price of marble blocks, maybe 2,000,000 xp, if not probably about 750,000 xp. (Marble blocks are a few hundred thousand a piece)
  9. In regards to how he could have know if he already teled, well he could have seen the spear, thought he picked it up then teled, check his invent and realised there was no spear. I am not so sure how he could have proof, I guess he could have taken a picture. But I don't see why you would take a picture but not remeber to pick it up;p
  10. Yeah, I did forget about the yellows. Thanks for reminding me. On a side note, I got a spirit seed from misc birds nest yesterday, yay. Pitty I have level 7 farming  Also here is my bank pic as of day one. Sorry I didn't take one at day zero, but my bank was still pretty messy.
  11. Haha, I dc'ed at dragons two days ago aswell. Lost like 6mill worth of stuff, atleast the guy near me sounded nice. We had a good conversation before I died :).
  12. Sell it for more than you got it for. =p
  13. Having a week to come up with a topic and properly educate yourself in related information, I would've expected better. Yeah, no offence to the editor but I totally agree. Also, quite a few of the popular 'official' worlds have been missed out. Like the blast furnace world. I found this actually painful to read and the only thing of interest the list itself (which was disappointing to say the least).
  14. Totals for day one: Cash decreased by 17mill(Rounded to the nearest mill). Total profit was 2683k (2.7mill rounded to the near hundred thousand). Comments for day one: Not bad for day one, I didn't play very long (45-60 minutes) and I didn't have any of my rs official posts running. So mostly they were biggish trades from my friends list. It was nice to get rid of my rune ore and rune bars, because I was having a bit of trouble finding buyers. I just gotta offload those 150k nats, i've already had multiple offers for 300 per, so if worst comes to worst I get my money back. Going to go get some dinner with the family, see you tommorow maybe.
  15. Not really, its called sarcasm. I posted that about 30 minutes ago, so its not like I forgot it. I posted it because I wanted to point out the inconsistancies in the persons post. (I.e, its ok for everybody else to post logs, just not merchants) That post is kinda what made me decide it'd be neat to have a trading post. People always ask how I make money, well this is how I do it.
  16. *Shrugs*, I wasn't sure so I posted it here and trusted that the mods would move it. Although, I don't really want a rating and its not really an accomplishment, so I figured this was the spot.
  17. Thanks and sorry I can't spell :((
  18. So anyways, I decided i'd start a log of most of my trades just for personal reference and I know I like reading other peoples logs, so I thought i'd post it. I am using normal accounting procedures to calculate my profit (i.e, I am not calculating it using market to market, which is what enron used and ultimately lead it to its collalpse) so profit will only be counted when items are sold, not bought. For example if I buy natures for 10gp each (1,000 of them) I will not caculate the profit untill they sold. Trades valuing under 100k haven't been included. Names have not been included. I am aiming to get a full set of rares. I have broken down this goal into shorter sections to make it more acheivable. Starting cash: 79mill Current cash: 61mill Goal: Full rare set X 2 Break down(Set 1): (Bolded means the item has bought) Easter egg Pumpkin Red mask Blue mask Green mask Santa hat Purple party hat Green party hat White party hat Red party hat Blue party hat Yellow party hat Set two: Easter egg Pumpkin Red mask Blue mask Green mask Santa hat Purple party hat Green party hat White party hat Red party hat Blue party hat Yellow party hat Current goal: Blue mask, cash target 100mill (cash target is the amount of cash I want before I buy the good) Green text indicates I am selling a good Red text indicates I am buying a good Day one: Sold 950 lantamynes (paid 2,800 each per) sold at 3,000 each per. Cash increased by 2850k, profit was 190k Bought 81,000 pure essence at 80 per. Cash decreased by 6480k. Bought 150,000 nature runes at 300 per. Cash decreased by 45000k. Bought 405 green hides at 1,700 per. Cash decreased by 688k. Sold 200 sharks at 1,000 per (bought for 900 per). Cash increased by 200k. Profit was 20k. Sold 339 rune ores at 12,000 per (bought for 11,000 per). Cash increased by 4068k. Profit was 339k Bought 445 kwuarms for 4,300 per. Cash decreased by 1956k Sold 2,134 rune bars for 14,000 per (bought for 13,000 per). Cash increased by 29876k. Profit was 2134k Totals for day one: Cash decreased by 17mill(Rounded to the nearest mill). Total profit was 2683k (2.7mill rounded to the near hundred thousand). I will update as the day goes on! Comments are welcome.
  19. +1 Yeah man totally agree, to continue on with the hatred I would just like to say that I hate anybody who posts barrow logs, monster drop logs and skill logs. Infact anybody who posts any log whatsoever sucks big time You've worked hard sure, but why is it that you said merchanters haven't worked hard? If you knew anything about the way a market economy works you would know the law of supply a demand, an item is worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for it. Trading in this game is a hassle, when you deal with a merchant you are paying for a convience. If you want a real life example, how about 7/11, they charge me like $2 for a chocolate bar, at a super market I can get one for $1. So why should I pay double the price? Well because 7/11 is open 24 hours a day and I might not want to wait 12 hours for the supermarket to open and for me to get get and eat my chocolate bar. Also, since trading isn't automated (i.e, you can set up a stall buying iron ore for 100gp per unit) you are also paying merchanters for the time it takes to amass large amounts of goods. Merchanters DO NOT, drive the price of goods up, they charge a fee for convience. If you don't want to pay the fee, then don't. If you complain about merchanters driving up prices (i.e, everybody pays 1000gp per rune ore, but merchanters pay 2000gp per, they drive up the price!) this is simply not true, they are obivously selling the good to somebody, somebody who ahs decided their time can be better spent doing skills and paying a service fee to the merchanter. Sure merchanters show off, but so do skill levelers, runescape is filled with people showing off. If you are going to get angry about something, else be consistent and be angry at everybody who does it, not just a group of people. /end rant. Thats all fine and good, and those people can do that. I dont care about showing off, Cause ill be the first person to say hey look what i just found. but merchanters act like they are insanely godly to stand around and spam prices and sell stuff... thats not the point in any game... ive noticed most merchants are not that skill reliant, whats the point of playing the game and having the most money if you cant do anything? merchanting is pointless if your just collecting gold and never using it... whats the point? sit there and look nice WOOO! well worth hours of game time so that just you can stare at it.. The whole concept of MMORPG's and why they are so successful is that there is no end point, you can't beat the game. You set your own goals and then you try and acheive them. Who are you to say that your goal is more worthy than somebody elses? Obivously merchants get joy out of showing off their wares, or else they wouldn't do it. (They might do it to further themselves skill-wise, but apparently no merchants do this, hell they might even help their friends!) I mean personally I can't see how mining is enjoyable at all, but I have friends who practically have an ****** every time they mine and I respect that, just like they respect what I do. Compassion and seeing anothers point of view is a skill that it seems most people are still level 1 in.

  21. Nice story, I enjoyed reading it. Maybe I should start buying rares, I wanna make a log but i'd rather just input it in a VB program so it can work out the profits for me and so forth, oh well maybe after exams.
  22. As coherent as your post is, I don't think you really realised what I said. If somebody taunted you with items they had looted from you, you would be pissed as well. From his viewpoint thats what it probably would have looked like. I am not saying cdub should have given the stuff back, I am just saying that I would have. I think its pretty pathetic that nobody looks at the other side of the story (maybe this isn't such a good example, but a lot of the time people on these boards just don't take into account anything thats going on and just post nonsense).
  23. If you look at it from his side you can see why he got agitated, it would have looked from his side that you were taunting him with the items and then not giving them to him. Personally I would have given them back, but hey thats just me.
  24. It's nice to see that you got rewarded for your good deeds, now hopefully more people will do good! Congratulations on the dragon drops too.
  25. Those figures aren't really helpful at all on the main page, we need to know how many of each thing you get aswell. I mean a rune axe for 1gp is good, but if you only get it once a week then you aren't really getting a good idea of which is the best profit.
