Nice read, but was it necessary to put your name in the title?

The author makes some large assumptions such as that everyone hates training rc. While most don't like the skill, I enjoy it very much and shouldn't be slapped into some category you label. Also, who are you to say that it is wrong for people to play for hundreds of hours just to obtain a 99 that they will never use? Some only like the accomplishment of maxing a skill or competing with their peers. Incase you haven't noticed, mmo's are built around player competition and without that, then the game would be dull and boring. The same applies to real life shopping in a way. If people honestly didn't care about what other thought about their clothing, then no one would be spending $500 on a pair of jeans.

A bit off topic, but I had to do the same puzzle box back to back in the same clue once :x . Luckily I enjoy them irl and was only a minor annoyance to me.

Just because money doesn't rule a game doesn't mean it wont make an impact. In runescape, most skills can be maxed ridiculously easily with a large sum of cash. However, in games like Warcraft, money doesn't decide entirely who is the best. so then it will be like warcraft, where only the no-life hardcore players are "the best"- instead of the average guy who makes a few good investments and plays for a few hours a day on runescape- i'd preffer the latter. I never said that :ugeek: . However, I'm sure Jagex will prevent your ideal game from happening again.

The day I bought full black years ago when I was a newb. I took it into the wilderness and was attacked around level 15 by some random guy. Being stupid, I ran further in and somehow lost him around level 20. Even worse, I thought he'd give up when I ran out of seeing distance on the minimap. Obviously, I decided to take a rest at that second and he immediately ran back at me :wall: . I was so pissed at myself.

Or we could go the way of Warcraft and make the entire game gear dependent. Only a few people have the best armor there and that takes several months (at the least) to get.

Think of all the spamming and whatnot; no one can read anything and it's just mass chaos. It's usually only like 50ish people spamming in one spot, not enough to dent the world's population at all.

I'm definitly looking forward to this! I just hope the runescape crowd doesn't rush over, considering the game is aimed at ages 20+.

I love storms! Haven't had a thunderstorm since November or something :( I havn't had a good storm in a while now. It doesn't help that I sleep through most of them. :( You know what would be epic? Watching a thunderstorm while having Mozart, Beethoven or some other classical music blasting at max volume out of the speakers. It IS awesome :thumbup: . Beethoven's 5th sounds amazing while rain is blasting against your windows.

Australia isn't exactly the apex of freedom either. Ausfalia has been censoring video games since the mid 90s. Conroy also wants to bring in a ridiculous mandatory nationwide filter. So actually, shadow is right. Both America, Australia, and the UK are authoritarian and are becoming increasingly totalitarian with their constant interventions in areas in which government should never have any input whatsoever. Can't we just agree that government sucks no matter where you live? :lol:

Girugamesh sucks as a meme. I was on /b/ the night it was forced (became a forced meme) because the picture was posted thousands of times in a row. All of /b/ shut down for an hour, it failed.

I think discussing news is definitely a fun part of the OT. Hearing everyone's opinions on something is generally a good read.
