Yeah, no issues with HD, even at high resolutions. <*drops jaw and feels resolution envy...*> Man, I wish I had double 1600x1200 monitors. ~D. V. "Daaaaaaaang!" Devnull

Okay... there went that wacky idea... :-? Hmm....... Should I try disabling cookies temporarily, and try to force it to browse with session IDs in the URL? ~D. V. Devnull (p.s.: Accidentally typed in the wrong password a couple times prior to posting this, because I'd been using other sites I like today and got confused. If you see a hazard alert in the log about my account locking itself, you can safely disregard it.)

Uhm... and where did you lose 100 off the count? <*DVD slaps 321Ownage silly to the point that they fall into the pool nearby...*> Enjoy the swim and the wet wake-up call... 4670 ~Mr. "Hopefully they remember how to count?" Devnull -
Sorry about that triple-post, Rainy_Day ... At the time, I was trying to leave my posts untouched in case of replies inbetween my postings. :anxious: I'm surprised everyone else isn't having this problem. Usually, problems I personally hit upon with software tend to be a mass bug that hits everyone somehow eventually. :? BTW, I DID try all possible ways of logging in. None of them drops me back at the thread I left off at. That was about the time I started this thread. Didn't matter if I directly hit the Sign In at the top, hit a reply button on the page on someone's post, or etc. while logged out. Signing in always dropped me back at the URL that I copied into my posting up above. Maybe something isn't properly set in my forum profile that I've totally missed or don't have access to? (Only place I haven't checked is my profile on these forums, BTW.) :-s ~D. V. "Murphy's Law must have it in for me..." Devnull

Back in my day, you could always earn profit for putting time and effort in... Combining items to make stuff always gave the ability to gain lots of gp... :^_^: Back in my day, you could always meet someone's needs and gain gp wherever you went... The trade limits and Grand Exchange have ruined this. <_< Back in my day, the middle mouse button actually worked in RuneScape as a 2nd left button, and it was extremely nice to have. If anyone here wants it back, come support at both this TIF Thread and this RSOF thread in order to get the point across to Jagex about this nifty little feature the RuneScape Applet used to have. :geek: There's more, but I can't think of it right now. ~D. <*Skips the massive quote handling and just hits the reply button...*> Okay, not seeing the Session ID on the URLs, even after clicking around about 30-some pages of the forums... Something is stripping it before the pages are ever delivered to me, preventing me from maintaining a session key, or having one when I click. I literally don't have a session key from the moment I arrive, and don't get one with any links on the page. Might be due to the fact that I didn't clear my cookies since PhpBB3, so I'll try clearing all my cookies for these forums while I'm not signed in. Odd that the login/logout works and holds, though, which is what's bugging me about all this. :-k As for the error page, find any post while not signed in. You should see that the little "Reply" button on the posts themselves are available. Clicking it gives me the error page, and a link without any passed parameters for signing in that pretty much acts like a duplicate of the "Sign In" button up above. Might be something in the ACP you'll want to adjust there, unless you want people to be able to directly login to reply to a post? Again, another thing I'll have to clear my cookies to check. :-s ~D. V. "Here's to hoping that info helps." Devnull UPDATE: Clearing cookies flat didn't work, only trashed settings kept on this PC for this forum. Session ID is only available for the first page after I reach the forum front, even attempting to sign in from that always drops me back at... http://forum.tip.it/index.php? ...and without fail to drop me there, even if it was a topic page. I am not getting delivery of anything you're saying this board has in the way of login redirect features, and I absolutely know I've done nothing to prevent this from coming through if it was going to ever work in the first place. Going to check my "about:config" now to make sure that nothing has messed with me in the way of things like "referrer handling" and related. :-| ~D. V. "Running out of possibilities here..." Devnull FINAL UPDATE: Checked for referrer-related settings, only found one in my entire "about:config" thingy. (Frustrated enough to be unable to think of a more descriptive word right now.) It is set to literally send referrer data for EVERYTHING, without fail, so I've got no stripping going on here. At this point, I've LITERALLY exhausted everything, every option for diagnostics I have here. Unless you can whip out some blazing forum coding magic, whenever time permits for you, I'm permanently "S.O.L." here. I guess I'll have to start making more use of WordPad in important situations. -.- ~D. V. "I'm stuffed, aren't I?" Devnull

Try using "Disruptive Behavior" as a rule to report them under, after having a non-offensive chat with the offender in an attempt to get them to go away. What you're experiencing is something called "Griefing", and is universally wrong all over the internet. If they don't go away, and you've reported the offender after all that, Jagex should nail them, because you'll have provided proof of the offender's disruptive behavior. Have fun, and good luck at putting an end to what those people are doing to you. :) ~D. Whatever the heck can be done without driving Tip.It's Forum Admins off a mental cliff... As I said, I've already accepted that I may have to live with this, seeing as the page prior to my login is never the thread that I was at due to issues beyond my control (no matter what I do) in how the login is being handled towards me... Almost as if it doesn't understand how to read what I'm doing, even though I'm doing nothing that modifies behavior. Perhaps it is silently failing to set the cookie (if that's what it uses) here, even though I have nothing blocking it doing so? :( First off, for all any of us know, there are a ton of people experiencing this issue as well, and just not having the mental nerve to pipe up about it. Given that, I could just be one in a small group. :-k Second, why attempt to do something about it? In order to prevent the issue for anyone else, right along with myself. Especially future registrants of the forums. Why assume it is only just one person, when it could be more and we just don't know? ~D. V. "Open minds, please?" Devnull

That sounds interesting, I will have to try that as I've had the problem you detailed... That's what has been turning me off using Ubuntu, and now I may just come back :P If I have to resort to that, I'm going to be very turned off from using ubuntu, as that will likely mean I'd be looking at a number of other semi-convoluted things to make other items work, including writing/using '.BAT' files for DosBox. (Already have to keep jumping back to windows to write one and save it in a format DosBox accepts, dangit.) <_< Looks like WinXP might be the last OS I will ever use. My dad goes solid ubuntu like he's thinking of, I'll be offline for good. No point using a computer if usability isn't as good as security, especially when both Java (with RuneScape) and Flash (with XgenStudios "Stick Arena: Ballistick") are big things for me. :( ~D. V. "End of my computing days... What an awful thought..." Devnull (p.s.: To everyone, your mileage may vary severely... Mine is always landmined because of my dad's total inability to at least accept the fact that I have an interest in something... Bugs me every time...)

I think I've found the problem, but it is by no doing of mine that it is happening. When I go to reply, but I'm not signed in, the page is failing to pass the parameters of where I should return to across to the login screen. Basically, they reach the page that gives the "You're not signed in" Error, but then the link that it gives me to click doesn't pass the parameters to the login page. Is there any way that the error page could be given a login field set, or that it could be adjusted to forcibly pass the parameters as part of the URL? Again, I've got cookies enabled and the whole 'nine yards'... So whatever is happening to me could be anything from an odd anomaly to an insane rare bug that's only affecting me, and may need to be reported to Invision. ~D. V. Devnull (p.s.: Quite likely I'm just gonna have to live with this issue, but if possible I'd like to see a resolution. I've only come back for this purpose, and will leave if people start in on me again.)

I've seen this as well... Will watch this thread for further thoughts... Very curious about possible speculations here. B) ~Mr. D. V. "Nice Catch!" Devnull

That's pretty much what they and I are saying, albeit not totally in a nutshell... And seeing as it isn't part of the forum code anyway, at least from what I see of thread legends, it would be nice to either have the locked image icon darkened, or at least made semi-transparent or something to coincide with the "read thread" image... That or the forums need a modification added to provide read/unread states, which I think would be unnecessary overkill. :( ~D. V. "Modify image please?" Devnull
-
Second that... albeit this thought about the locked thread icon might need to have its' own thread. :P Mods/Admins, SPLIT PLEASE? :?: [Edit: Wow... ninja'd  ...] ~D. V. Devnull

Two to gank, and page numbers where they blew it... 321Ownage - p509 Kcdragon8116 - p512 <*DVD pulls out a yo-yo, and quickly whips it through the air, whacking both 321Ownage and Kcdragon8116 for throwing the count off earlier. A sudden thunderclap-like slamming sound is then heard throughout the room as both of his targets find they have extreme opposite charges of static cling that cause them to attract and smack against each other so hard it knocks them out cold.*> Wow... Stormy today... If they were going to scream, they didn't have time... BTW... 4757 Oh, and I noticed the fast-traveling count... well done... nothing to junk my pants over, though, unlike popular belief... my jaw did drop, though, and I did a double-take. :P ~Mr. D. They must have fixed the OpenGL handling before you got to it. :) ... I was hearing horror stories, and ran into browser crashes with 8.04/8.10 ... Good to know, thanks for the heads-up. |^_^| ... Just curious, were you in HD Mode? Also good to know. 4900 ... Consider yourselves ninja'd... <*DVD suddenly hears a "THUD" sound from across the room... Apparently Napalm_Death and Hextriplet have had a very painful head-on collision due to that ugly static charge that Hextriplet currently has.*> Well, that's what you both get for trying to mess up the count. <*DVD slaps run4runes with a telepathic thought for not reading his long wall of text earlier, and then goes back to sleep, smiling, safe and happy inside his personal shielding...*> ~Mr. D. 5 quotes... one BIG finale... Well, well, well... Someone threw the count off... <_< While someone recovered it, I still have someone to do unreasonable amounts of damage to... How shall I make them suffer? Ah! I think I know! <*Mr. DVD pulls out a rather large hammer that has lightning flowing silently and gently around it. He tosses it into the air, and then yanks out two rather large swords. Apparently, DVD switched Valkirimedira (his Grand Paladin Fighter Bow) into its' "Tornado Mode", as he suddenly dashes at Hextriplet so fast they don't see him coming. DVD lets Hextriplet have a good heaping of his fury by launching into a spinning tornado-like attack, slicing the air in manners that smack his target left and right, always keeping Hextriplet square in his sights. By the time DVD is done, his target is stumbling, stunned and dizzy with no idea of what is up/down/etc., and bruised all over their body. The lightning-charged hammer that DVD threw up into the air earlier comes down, and DVD catches it and slams it into Hextriplet with only a mere fraction of his might. But it is just enough to send Hextriplet flying backward a few miles, and into a lake, where they skip and slide across the surface, and hit on the far edge. It causes Hextriplet to fly up in such a manner that they go right into a tree, and smack hard against the trunk, knocking them out cold and giving them nightmares that make them wish they were dead. DVD then puts his weapons away, and sits down in a nearby chair, flipping on his Regeneration Shield and going to sleep for a bit, invulnerable to any form of harm that someone might wish upon him.*> Their static cling is going to be miserable for them later... :P Now, where is this count at? Ah, yes....... 4955 ~D. V. "There are worse fates than death... I can be one of them, should it be necessary." Devnull
