  1. @ meol & Das --- Again, I already went through and checked everything, even tried that whitelist idea to remove the one thing that did fall foul... Unless those who are handling the base mechanics of the forum tied this item I'm not getting into the BurstNet Adverts, I don't have anything left that could possibly be creating this anomaly at my end. And that includes my about:config settings. :!: At this point, I'm going to ask for a thread lock... Seeing as no one in the Admin Coding Staff is willing to develop something that would never have an anomaly like this surrounding it, there is no longer a point to this thread being open... I'm outta here. <*De-watchlists*> ~D. V. "*sigh* ..." Devnull
  2. Then I'd like to know what on the web is filtering my traffic, because I've got nothing here that should be preventing me from landing where I left off after login. Perhaps just an FF2-series (and FF 3.5.7) incompatibility here? I NEVER have had a FaceBook, NEVER want one, and NEVER want their code near this PC. Sorry I didn't make that clear enough. :( ... What ticks me off worse about them is they are trying to get onto everyone's page code, and that's what ultimately resulted in a hyperblock with ABP against anything even containing the word "facebook"... Hell, I'm surprised this forum thread is still rendering for me. :-? Eh, what browser are you using? ~D. V. "Damned Anomalies!" Devnull

  4. Guess I'll have to try a whitelist on that single item, even against my better judgement... :( Nah, that's the only item falling foul of my filters. And only because of the FaceBook Social Networking crap. I personally think that kind of stuff should never be in the same script file as major forum code for logins. (Privacy/Security concerns, anyone?) I don't need (or want, for that matter) FaceBook seeing what I'm doing. Maybe Peter (Pure_MageUK) can fix this?!?!? :-? <*goes to test that whitelist idea...*> ~D. V. "Social Networking and Tip.It Forum Login should NEVER mix..." Devnull ================================================= UPDATE: Alright, just tried unblocking that, which would remove even that last single accidental block against the forum JavaScript code... NO effect... THIS PROBLEM IS NOT MINE, IT IS YOUR PROBLEM! Please check the forum base code and figure out why it won't work in FireFox! My system is clean of anything causing trouble! ~D. V. "Now I'm worse than angry..." Devnull
  5. Just checked that... all of those others deal with the FireFox user interface... I did just, however, find an item that's running afoul of my "*facebook*" ABP filter... http://forum.tip.it/public/min/index.php?charset=iso-8859-1&f=public/js/ipb.js,public/js/ips.quickpm.js,public/js/ips.facebook.js,public/js/ips.signin.js,cache/lang_cache/1/ipb.lang.js If this is what's doing it, I'm gonna be worse than angry... No one should ever link FaceBook crap into a forum's login system! <_< ~D. V. "Grr..." Devnull (p.s.: The problem had better not be mine due to my utter hatred of FaceBook... That filter saves me from way too much trouble.)
  6. Kcdragon and Jimmy, congratulations on becoming Super Mods... Just don't forget to come to "Countdown From 15K @ http://forum.tip.it/topic/77423-countdown-from-15k/" and join the fun, or I will have to come haunt both of you. ~Mr. D. V. "All must join the count!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!" Devnull
  7. Yes, I do... "forum.tip.it" is "Permanent Allow" in my cookies. :) Running both FF2-series and FF3-series here, and never gotten the redirection functions you speak of... And no, nothing on this end is blocking... I double-check with AdBlock Plus... I am noticing the Forum System is throwing an EXTREME amount of JavaScript Errors, though... Aha! Knew it! Problem's yours! Loosely quoted in code tags from my FireFox's JavaScript Error Console: Error: Loader is not defined Source File: http://forum.tip.it/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login Line: 139 Error: ipb is not defined Source File: http://forum.tip.it/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login Line: 88 I'm doing NOTHING here that could touch those, so I'd just about bet those items aren't properly designed for non-IE browsers... Any bets there's trouble elsewhere in the IPB Forum Systems? <_< Pretty much, yeah. Ever visited a business website? Tons of CGI going on with some of them. :P ... Nice joke to crack, though. ;) ~D. V. "Somebody wanna tell me why those JavaScripts broke when I'm not touching them?" Devnull (p.s.: I'm ignoring all those posts between yours and mine as they have a "flamebait" feel on them.)
  8. Not exactly... While it might work part of the time, that kind of move does not always work... :( And anyway, don't you think that's just a bit convoluted, when a simple and small cgi could be instead put in place to properly log-in and redirect a person back where they were? :-? BTW, yes I understand that means a little work to put it in place if such a function isn't already present. But IMO, it will definitely be so much better ultimately for both forum usability and functionality. Might even result in a little growth in the community, because word would spread of how nice these forums are. ;) ~Mr. D. V. "CGI Redirect @ Login = Better" Devnull
  9. Because if anyone actually fell into that 'trick', I'd have two people to gank... Both the one that fell in, and the one who made the hole to fall into... I'll let you imagine who I'd happen to be more vicious to. BTW, I think we're at 4980 ... and a new page... :P ~Mr. D. V. "Wouldn't a two-for-one be awesome?" Devnull
  10. Hello, Tip.It Staff... While browsing the forum this morning, having just arrived via the website, I had totally forgotten that I hadn't logged in. Well, I go to hit the reply button, and get reminded of this ugly little fact, only to be as equally made an ugly shade of angry. How, you might ask? Well, when logging in, you don't get to come back to where you left off. Worse, you instead get dumped at the forum index, which is both counter-intuitive to posting and rather disruptive to forum traffic flow as it sometimes isn't possible to remember the forum section that you were in when you had to sign in. Particularly when you've been reading a 3+ page long thread that you just happened to notice from a slightly stale copy of the forum index that was loaded at a point >30 min. before things could actually be viewed. (Frustration by IRL distraction, much?!?!?) In short, I'd personally like to see the restoration of a function that this forum had back on PhpBB (both versions 2 & 3) ... When in a thread on the forums while not logged in, it should be possible to hit the reply button and get a login screen, and once the proper login has been submitted, get dropped back exactly where the person who hit the button left off... It really can't be that [ble-e-e-e-e-ep] hard to do something like this, can it? BTW, if this already exists, somebody wanna show me where the [bleep] it gets flipped on?!?!? I wouldn't be surprised if this is in the ACP somewhere, and someone just missed it... <_< ~Mr. D. V. "Getting Dislocated = Instant Upset, and then some..." Devnull
  11. Banned for not banning me properly, and being way beyond overly serious... Why? I'm only F2P, so there isn't really anything to add to your quote about F2P's Limits... ~D. V. "LOL" Devnull
  12. Banned for meme'ing twice in the last 4 posts (as of the typing of this post, that is) on this thread... Such poor etiquette you have. :shame: ~D. V. "No overdone memes, please!" Devnull (p.s.: In case you didn't get it, that's a sarcasm-loaded joke... LOL!)
  13. Consider yourself banned because your face has become a "meme avatar" ... :P <*DVD points at Blaziken's face...*> ~Mr. D. V. "Maybe you asked for it? Damn memes!" Devnull (p.s.: BTW, that should be over 28000 banned now... And you do realize my post is a pure joke, right?)
  14. And I just got it on "quote box"... You know what that means. <*Mr. DVD suddenly pulls a Naruto, and clones himself 5 times, then smacks Napalm silly with 6 rasengan simultaneously, leaving Napalm_Death all knocked out with a silly look on their face as they land on a stack of pillows nearby. DVD then reverts back to his single self, and sits down in a nearby chair.*> Funny, looney, and fully impacted... Just how I like it. LOL  Now... where were we? Ah, that would be right... and I'll say it in a shade of red this time, just because it has that bloody feeling attached ever so nicely... :P 5018 ~Mr. D. V. "You just got Naruto'd." Devnull
  15. @ run4runes -- I got 'tipper's joke... obscure humor, but funny... ... And yes, it DID fall within the definition of a joke... You might want to read it again, just to get the joke yourself. ;) 5020 ... New page... B) ... And since it is page 500... NINJA! ~D. V. "Please re-read to get the LOL!" Devnull
  16. Wouldn't even leave us an "address book thread" to point to major info and discussions, eh? :P ~D. V. "You know I had to ask..." Devnull
  17. Just out of curiosity, what slots do you still have open inside the PC's case? How many Old PCI, AGP, and/or PCI-Express? ~D. V. Devnull
  18. No question for me... I've handled Admin of both IPB and PhpBB before... and I can say that, by far, IPB kicks [bleep] for both usability and Admin capabilities. Only could have wished that PhpBB had taken a few cues in this department. ~D. V. "I'd have to say IPB FTW..." Devnull
  19. cooldog08, you probably experienced the hiccup with one or more of the servers yesterday. It appears Jagex was unable to retrieve/save the data from that server's session, causing damage to a mass number of user profiles, and forcing usage of older data. So you haven't mentally lost it. But you will need to work to get all that stuff all over again, sorry. :( ~D. V. "I know, it sucks, but that's all you can do..." Devnull
  20. I'll have to team up with my dad, and see if we can't give this one a go on the Live CD/DVD ... Hopefully it will act far better than what I saw back with 8.04/8.10 ... :P ~D. V. "I throw hardballs... This thing had better be ready to catch..." Devnull (p.s.: BTW, I'm gonna watchlist this thread and stay tuned...)
  21. IMO, if you're going to move RS Bugs to GD, then make it a subforum of GD instead. When I go looking about Bugs, I want to see those and not a mishmosh of other threads with it. It is one of the reasons I've liked "RS Bugs&Sugg." as it has been all these years that I've been here so far, because it puts two of my favorite offside items (bugs & suggestions) together in one nice place with a minimum of other junk getting in the way. Heck, maybe the Moderators here should really be putting more effort into moving bug threads to RS B&S, and a sticky should be put in GD about not starting bug-related threads in GD. At least, that's what I'd do about it... <_< Beyond that, the rest is fine. I'll be looking forward to the Media Section. |^_^| ~D. V. "RS Bugs in GD? You're asking for trouble, but it won't be from me..." Devnull
  22. I know what your problem is, Dark_Aura, which is that your browser is only keeping the cookie that maintains the hide for the current session ... Been there before myself with other sites... You need to remove your current cookie exception setting for "forum.tip.it", and then set a new one with a setting of "Permanently Allow" (not just "for session") or this issue will happen again. :( ~D. V. "It sucks, I know..." Devnull
  23. 5074 Glad to see we're still moving. B) ....... Hmm... Anyone mind if I rant a bit? *sigh* -.- ~D. V. "This day hasn't been that awesome..." Devnull
  24. What about Linux? ~D. V. "An alternate OS, perhaps?" Devnull
  25. If you're a mage, and you're F2P, then there's no question... "Bryll Robe Top" ... While you're at it, don't forget to bind runes. B) ~D. V. "Magic FTW!" Devnull
