  1. Was that directed at me or the thread generally? (I know it's a self-absorbed question but it is under my post). Anyway, for the record I turned 21 in August so I'm an oldun' by tip.it's standards now.
  2. I saw that clip this morning, she seemed so tongue-tied and just out of her depth. It's something I can see being exploited by the Democrats.
  3. No, instead we process the human meat into green wafers and pass it off as something else - nobody will suspect a thing. I say we call it Soylent Green!
  4. Its not a gimmick, people see "Night Race" and immediately think its going to be F1 cars racing around in the pitch black. When infact the lights at the circuit will provide enough light to make the circuit lighter than it would be during the daytime. The only main reason there having the race at night is for the fans, so the people in the Western World (Europe mainly) where the majority of its fanbase is dont have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch the race. Did I say it was in the pitch black? I just don't think it will add anything to the sport in terms of interest and excitement - that is why I consider it a gimmick that is only designed to get more viewers. The FIA should be looking at ways at making the actual business of racing more exciting by making overtaking more common and by giving the teams a more level playing field.
  5. My view is that at 18 you should be old enough and have more than enough knowledge to make an informed decision by yourself, that's what is supposed happen when you become an adult. If you want to smoke then smoke, make your own decisions. Asking for this sort of advice on a forum that is mainly viewed by younger teenagers who don't know what they are talking about isn't exactly clever either.
  6. It just seems like a bad gimmick to me, I really don't see how this will make F1 more interesting or exciting.

I didn't say that it wasn't worth the effort, I just don't think it can ever feasibly work in practice. I don't personally buy into the idea that all global conflict will cease for a day because somebody has created this random day. It would be nice and I applaud the idealism behind it but I just don't see it working.

The more likely scenario is that people pay little attention to 'peace day' and everyone continues to do what they normally do.
  9. I thought Jesus died like 2000 years ago..? Lmao I despise you right now. I can't come back from that in any way, you know what I meant.
  10. I don't think 2008 has been an especially bad year for celebrity deaths. Some great famous people die every year, jesus, Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonioni died on the same day last year, that was traumatic.
  11. As in the guy was being sarcastic in the first place, well done on missing that completely.
  12. My opinion is that I hate vague topic titles. As for your question, I'm okay with tatoos but long hair isn't for me but I don't care what other people do. Whatever floats your boat.
  13. I hate you more with every pic. Seriously though, it looked like an awesome trip. The picture of the Petronas Towers looked surreal. Welcome back.
  14. I genuinely don't mean this sarcastically (I know it's not like me) but what lesson do you think we should have all learned from this? I can think of a few from my perspective but I'm just interested in what you meant.
  15. I just couldn't fit Kaka into the system I used (basic 442). To me he really needs to be at the tip of the diamond if you're going to get the best out of him.
  16. Other than 2 videos they're all rather old, how is a video from 96, 97 or even 05 relevant to how good they are now?
  17. Sure. Kids are [developmentally delayed], they don't think and they don't hear a thing parents are saying. Yes, I'll admit, some kids are like this, but that's like saying all Germans are racist because Hitler and a few others were. Oh, and I don't think a kid that gets run over thinks "Oh looky, a car. Let's cross the street and hope nothing happens." Drivers are irresponsible too, and they are the cause of a lot of accidents and people getting run over. And kids aren't the only people getting run over, adults get hit by cars too. So yeah. I didn't say all kids are stupid and would shoot each other, I'm just noting that when you're young you still have a lot of maturing to do before you become an adult (especially when you're 11). Also, I'm not saying that children go looking to get run over, it's just that they often don't pay enough attention when crossing or don't think about the road safety training they've had when they go to cross. I'm in no way suggesting that it's only children that get ran over, they are just more likely to get hit than the average adult (OAP's being an exception to this here but that irrelevant to my point. All I'm trying to suggest is that no matter how much training a child has, they can/will make mistakes because they are children.
  18. It is not reckless if the parents have the common sense to actually hammer the safety rules into their skulls and never let them have a gun without adult supervision, and it is the parents fault for the lack of teaching the kid common sense. Kids these days would probably do less stupid [cabbage] if parents would start using physical punishment, aka smack their kids [wagon] once in a while. You can teach a kid until you're blue in the face but that doesn't mean they'll listen because they are not at an age where they're mature enough. Children are taught road safety and yet many still get ran over every year because they don't abide by the basic training they've been given. I just don't get the thought process that goes into giving a child (not even a teenager - that would be bad enough) a weapon that is used to kill. It makes no sense to me.
  19. An 11 year old child should never have access to a gun. I don't care if it's common in some areas, it is reckless, an 11 year old is nowhere near mature enough to be allowed near a weapon. It's not the games fault it's the child's parents fault for giving him a gun. -------- Well hypothetically speaking, he could have been shot in the head after being killed by somebody else in order to make it look like a suicide (an accidental one in this case). If medical examination weren't done in these cases a lot more people would get away with murder.
  20. Big games like the Euro 2008 final... As for Ibrahimovic, I just don't rate him personally. Sure, he scores in Serie A but he never seems to live up to his reputation in the champions league or the international tournaments (his overall international record is good, but I'm only referring to the tournaments).
  21. GK: Gianluigi Buffon - An absolute no-brainer, he is the world's best keeper. LB: Phillip Lahm - Absolutely brilliant fullback. He's able to attack, he's quick, he can pass, cross and even shoot very well. He's also able to take care of his defensive duties. CB: Fabio Cannavaro - He might be 34 but Italian defenders are like fine wines, the get better with age. He was, to me, the number one reason why Italy won the world cup. He might be a bit older but he doesn't lack pace and he never seems to make a positional mistake, he just he a sixth sense of being in the right position and on top of that he is fearless. Look at Italy when he's not playing, they struggle. CB: Pepe - He's the sort of defender I like, one who can play the ball. He brilliant defensively and he has the skills to play the ball and initiate counter attacks. On top of that, he is very quick and a good header. He's already used to playing alongside Cannavaro at Real Madrid and that would help plus it's a good blend of youth and experience. RB: Daniel Alves - He'll cause problems for any team down the right. Like Lahm he's quick, can pass well and decent defensive job. MF: Xavi Hernandez - He's one of the games best passers, he rarely makes a bad pass for Barcelona or Spain. He's and extremely creative player and uses the ball well. He can play either centre midfield or as a defensive midfielder so he's more than capable of attacking and defending when he is needed. MF: Gerrard - As much as it pains me to pick an Englishman, you jest can't leave out Stevie G. He's got everything, he passes well, he shoot well, he can defend, he has it all. How many times has he taken Liverpool by the scruff of the neck and lead them to a win, he just seems to inspire everyone around him. LW: Leo Messi - He can run rings around defenders and is a brilliant passer and shooter. He's a creative genius, that is why he helped Argentina to an olympic gold. RW: Cristiano Ronaldo - He scored over 40 goals last season and is probably the best player in the world at the moment. Enough said. CF: Fernando Torres - He's, quick, strong and is clever enough to get into the sorts of positions and make the runs that give and defenders nightmares. Right now, I don't think any traditional striker can touch him. CF: David Villa - I take that last comment back, maybe he can touch him. Another great striker and he showed it during Euro 2008. That's why I'm going with the Spanish strike partnership. Subs GK: Petr Cech RB/DF: Sergio Ramos DF: Rio Ferdinand DM: Javier Mascerano MF: Andrea Pirlo AM/MF/RW/SS: Kaka CF: Samuel Eto'o ........................................ . Villa Torres . . .Messi C. Ronaldo . . Gerrard Xavi . .Lahm Alves . Cannavaro Pepe . Buffon ................................................. Edit - Why does everyone go for Ibrahimovic? He is so immensely overrated and is a big sulky primadonna. I wouldn't have him as my teams kitman.
  22. This happens to me a lot. One day I'll be randomly reading something for no reason and then it seems to come up on a gameshow a few days or weeks later. I can't complain, it creates the illusion of me being a lot more intelligent than I really am.
  23. As soon as I saw this topic, I immediately thought of the scene in Trainspotting where Spud takes speed before a job interview.
  24. You are a moron.

Why does this topic come up every 8 or 9 months? He was probably just some bored tube who wanted to wind up some gullible muppets online.
