  1. So if Mother Terasa had eaten a dog, you'd despise her, in spite of all the other good things she'd done for the poor and helpless? I'm sorry, I'm just trying to draw out the point that an action that you believe is wrong does not go "hand in hand" with someone deserving to have their overall character called into question with words like 'despised'.
  2. Doesn't that completely run against the idea of argumentum hominem? You've just admitted to hating the person, not the action.
  3. The fact you both do athletics might help the relationship. If you're spending time exercising to improve your sports performances, you need someone who'll help motivate you, not try and tempt you away from doing the hard yards in the gym. Same works for him.
  4. Webber said he was in 'positive' talks with Red Bull over a new contract so I don't know how much truth there is in that one. Given what happened last week I wouldn't be surprised if the sporting media are trying to make something out of nothing in the absence of any other news.

Lordy, what keyboard costs $120? :o http://www.thinkgeek...ards-mice/e609/ Although I'm sure he means Australian dollars and I have no idea how much that's worth. Around about the same, US$1.07. If you earned the money then who's she to judge? Would she rather you spent it on drugs and alcohol?
  6. I guess it depends on the situation. If the secret was the fact that you cheated on them, but they (wrongly) trusted you enough in the first place not to bother investigating, is that a secret? I'd still say yes, moreover it's you've denied that other person the truth so therefore you've lied as well as kept a secret. It's the lying that's dangerous, because it's indicative of a fundamental breakdown in trust.
  7. http://www.sldreamteam.co.uk/ You have to pay for it now though... I'm not sure if you can work out the mechanisms from what's available there.

    I don't get it...
  9. Um... yes? I don't know what you're driving at...
  10. I played on the rugby league's official fantasy football. I was in the top 1% after Round 6 but then my squad was decimated with injuries. <_< I'm not expecting similar results here because I don't know football players as well as rugby players but I'll give it a bash anyway.
  11. No I don't, but drunk actions are sober thoughts, right? My guess is that when she's sober, she realises a relationship could ruin the friendship, but when she's drunk, she cares a little less about that than she'd otherwise want to. Still, end result suggests she's very happy keeping it in the 'friend zone'. And Standard... I think the point I'm making is when secrets turn into lies, and when they start to affect and harm other people, there's a problem; but a relationship where the other person knows everything about my history, my actions and my thoughts makes the word 'love' turn into doublethink.
  12. It's well known that only Nintendo deal in "proper" games, stupid. All the games on the XBox are hyperviolent-bloodrushing-mindless-shooters, dontcha know? :shame: You can't call yourself a gamer until you have a gold-plated Wind Waker special edition GBA SP. Oh, don't you have one? Well it is quite rare... too rare for casuals like you. Just go and play CoD and camp with a sniper rifle like all the other non-proper gamers and pretend you have 'skills' while I try and break the speed run record for LoZ. Gameplay > graphics. </fanboy>
  13. I half disagree, to be honest. Lies are bad. Secrets give a sense of mystery to the relationship. I sure as hell wouldn't want to know everything about someone else. There's just stuff I'd rather not know.
  14. Done.
  15. Done in luminous green.
  16. It is a fair point, given how much introverts are supposed to like keeping their 'inner world' to themselves. I managed to kill that gross, stupid, worthless moth with a blast of deoderant (sp?) from 5cm out. It was on my speakers so I couldn't f-whack it with a shoe. Did the job though; a generous serving of instadeath.
  17. This moth in my room. YES I AM trying to kill you so pleeease do whatever any normal animal would do and fly away instead of camping out in the far corner of my room at 2am. I'm being serious when I say I threw a 5p coin, hit it directly and it somehow it survived with its wings still intact. This thing ain't going down...
  18. I've got to admit, walking into a room and preemptively mapping escape routes and scanning for weapons seems slightly excessive... especially if it's around friends.
  19. The dramatic side of me does wonder who it is that has it in for Das... but no one really checks the Comments section so whoever it is is receiving minimal exposure. Besides, the best form of trolling is when the other person doesn't realise they're being trolled but everyone else does. This is too blatent, it's pretty crap trolling to be honest.
  20. Knowing the contentiousness of national flags and sporting nationalities in general across all sports, let alone football, there's only one place that idea's going.
  21. Sorry for spamming placemarks... I had no idea I was doing it until I refreshed the page and went:  Thankfully I worked out how to delete them.
  22. You know as well as anyone else that in the UK we don't vote directly for a Prime Minister...
  23. Fear is a response to a perceived threat, whereas anxiety is more generalised and requires no identifiable stimulus in order to occur. To a certain extent, we're always anxious... about how much food is left in the cupboards, when we next receive money, whether we're liked by peers at school/work. Fear would be a response to the perceived threat of starving to death, being made homeless, being bullied etc. Where anxiety is excessive and has gone beyond the point where a person is capable of coping with the anxiety, you have an anxiety disorder.
  24. He's not talking about an exclusive relationship though, he's talking about any relationship. I think the main reason is companionship. It's pretty common for people to stick close to the people they like and move away from the people they don't like. Wanting to be in an intimate relationship with someone you love and feel safe around is just a natural extension of that. Besides, I think most people report that having sex while in a relationship is more satisfying than having sex with someone you're not in a relationship with, in general.
  25. Maybe they're camera shy. If you know them, why would you need a picture anyway?
