I think Gliscor will almost always take down Garchomp, even if it loses a fair deal of HP to out-slog it.

2011/12 Football Season
Six points needed from Chelsea, Blackburn and Blackpool, or if we beat Arsenal, game over. Easy.

New forum section for homework
But then, what's the difference between homework and every other piece of help offered on Tip.It? Isn't learning from the experience meant to be a key factor in both homework and real life? I'm not saying we should go around writing essays for people, but if someone's stuck with a simple question, is coming on here really any different from asking a friend? That said, I'm not sure if such a situation warrants its own board. The RLH&A thread would be okay.

20-Apr-2011 - Dungeoneering Guide Competition
Dunno if it's just me but... the use of the word 'epic' there really winds me up. There is no way that two pages of information about Dungeoneering can possibly constitute an epic.

E3 2011
My main concern about Project Cafe are the rumours about there being a screen in a GC-style controller. The GameCube bit I'm happy with--I think ergonomically the GC was the best controller of its generation, though maybe this is because I'm 5'0"--but the screen worries me because it'll ramp up the price of new controllers, which definitely makes it seem more 'anti-multiplayer' when games are played on a local network simply because new controllers are less affordable. I guess we'll have to wait until E3 for Nintendo to confirm this rumour as even being true in the first place, and to prove the benefits outweigh the extra cost.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
The fact it doesn't matter that much makes me wonder why I even bothered with all this. I started problems where there weren't. It wasn't worth it. I was fine in peace and quiet. Yeah, but the other way of looking at it is saying, 'I had nothing to lose, it was worth a shot'. Now you know how the situation feels you can run through how to manage those emotions for the next time so that even if you are nervous, it doesn't show. Of course, if you choose there isn't a next time, that's up to you, but:

Forgot? Never knew them. This is me desperately trying to catch up on two or three years of no information about the metagame. Didn't even know what the Starter Pokemon were until I got Black as a birthday present.

Haxorus: * Strongest Outrage in the OU tier * Defensively frail. * Almost always holds some kind of boosting move (SD, DD or Choice). * Bold nature is useless since it takes away Atk. Adamant if running a choice set, Jolly if SD/DD. * Mold breaker will hit Levitating enemies. Shame EQ can't be gained until after E4, because if Hax switched in on resistant Eelektross, it wouldn't stand a chance.

E3 2011
There is that aspect and I've argued that against my friends who were Nintendophiles, now 360 converts who ridicule the Wii's online gameplay. Not much chance of someone teabagging or shouting abuse down the microphone on Pokemon, that's for sure. The standard of behaviour is definitely something Xbox could take from Nintendo's book. We're digressing though. I doubt any of this will be debated at E3, lol.

GB Color to GBA wasn't huge either. Sorry if I came off as angry before, it's more frustration with the fact that Nintendo has very good competitive games, but XBL and PSN have left Nintendo's online multiplayer services obselete (even if it's free) and this means that PvP competition just isn't that accessible without joining a fansite for that particular game. There's potential not being realised with Nintendo's games and it's painful to watch while CoD gets (re)released like an annual and without doing anything really radical, inherits the online spotlight. If Nintendo had an online delivery service like XBL, I'd gladly pay £40 for it.

Your local public school budgets are being cut
If cuts have to be made, I can't see the value in continuing to fund subjects that don't improve career opportunities. When it comes to art, I take a very 'Those who can do' attitude. On the other hand, investment in athletics programs improves public health.

E3 2011
OK, two points: 1) Sales - Xbox is now selling more than Wii, which is selling more than PS3, though really there's no country mile between any of them: http://uk.gamespot.c...nes%3Btitle%3B6 2) Hardcore gaming - Really? You've actually competed on Smash World then? Only they actually discourage the use of Nintendo's in-game SSBB matchmaking system because it fails to punish bad habits and therefore isn't good practice for tournaments. In fact it doesn't even adhere to standard global Smash World rules. Some criticise SSBB as a retrograde step in terms of metagame from SSBM. Mario Kart Wii's online games can be hacked, making it unsuitable for proper online competition unless done through a dedicated fansite. You still can't even talk to people online unless you have their Friend Code. Nintendo don't give a damn about anything hardcore except Pokemon, and even then, the removal of Vs Seeker is a clear attempt to make EV grinding much harder, and the lack of guarenteed Ditto snags in B/W renders IV-breeding hard for those without Gen IV games. How you can say Nintendo are still hardcore is beyond me.

Nintendo won't steal anything--except hopefully some ideas on how to build a decent online matchmaking system from Microsoft, hopefully in time for MK3DS.

Banning the burqa
This is essentially the idea here. While there are some issues associated with such a ban, given the small number of burka-wearers in France targeting them to ensure protection of French values and culture is not too bad an idea. Freedom of religion does not extend to that which is harmful to others. Which is why Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world, and the vast majority of Muslims live outside of its original Arabian countries. But hey, if you want to cover "I'm fed up with Islam" by saying "The world is fed up with Islam", go for it.
-
Banning the burqa
Yeah, that was more the point I was making. But that's not in opposition Islam specifically, as the guy I was responding to implied. Just that in a conflict between the state's interests and a religion's, the state should take priority. EDIT: Just noticed that the 'q' in 'burqa' isn't followed by a 'u'. What is the meaning of this nonsense?
-
TIF is bit over-moderated
No no, sir, you've got this wrong. It would have been dysfunction had those unjustly banned not had their bans reverted. That they were reverted tells me the system is good enough as it is to pick out anomalies.

Banning the burqa
It's not really to do with the assimilation of anything. It's just that in France, they expect people to be French first, everything else second, and being a French citizen means respecting the country's attitude to secularism; therefore they expect that French Muslim women should wear partial veils instead of full-faced veils. It's not really anything against Islam per se, but more in the interests of French secularism. Is that xenophobic? Probably, but only if you categorise Islam as being inherently un-French, which I don't think it is.

New Forum: Metagame Discussion
It's a common tactic in nurseries to place disruptive children in isolation so they cause no further harm to others. Frankly, so long as that remains true, I don't really care about the rights and wrongs of how this came about. Good luck then.

Banning the burqa
No go on, humour me... what am I exactly? A guy asking for clarification on your (apparently ignorant) statement? Y'know I don't want to derail this thread any more so if you've nothing interesting to say I'm just gonna head off and cook tea for me and my housemates. Nice chat though.

Banning the burqa
Oh I see what you did there... ha... ha... yeah... to what? i don't consider that thinly veiled insult as a question (pun intended) Are you talking about arranged marriage or forced marriage here? Yep, looks like a question to me.

Banning the burqa
Are you talking about arranged marriage or forced marriage here? Wait, can you even tell us the difference without looking at Wikipedia? lol you mad? Nah bro. Not after Kuyt scored the penalty against Arsenal anyway. Strange answer though.
