  1. If you like RPGs, I suggest getting it. The graphics aren't realistic or spectacular, just beautiful. The gameplay, the story and the plot are amazing. I've not got this because it's not been released in the PAL region and the Wii's area fixed.
  2. I find it wholesomely touching you treat those Palestinians with the contempt of a lame horse that needs putting down. Those are human beings. To say you're protecting civilian life through your actions, and then to kill 400+ people in the process is ridiculous. Above all else, your attitude tells me what I've suspected about Israel for a long time - it couldn't give a rat's [wagon] about its own people, it just wants to control the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
  3. Pendulum - Propane Nightmares. In unrelated news, dive for the bomb shelters. U2 are close to their new album (well... I use "new" loosely).
  4. I find communities that only obsess about one thing quite boring. That's why most have an Off-Topic section. Tip.It's OT board is miles ahead of any other site's, easily. Some genuinely thought provoking threads and lots of great personalities.
  5. Did that argument prevent the 1916 Easter Rising? Or the 1919 Anglo-Irish War? And believe me, the Black and Tans were offering much more than knives for punches.
  6. I find adding light spirit to the coke removes certain inhibitions you would normally have. Great for getting to meet new people when you're as shy as a hedgehog in headlights. I'd never get drunk week in, week out though. I pity for people who feel they have to get drunk that often just to make life bearable. As for wine... can't stand it.

Just keep telling yourself it's only a temporary solution to keep options open. ;)

Can I just say, I'm never gonna view Katy Perry in the same way ever again. :P
  9. HAPPY NEW YEAR! (Even though it's far too late...)
  10. In which case, you face inevitable custody. ;)
  11. 2 1/2 hours. For the epically sad, Animal Crossing has a countdown to the New Year. I won't be following it. Beer + AC = bad dreams.
  12. They played Preston's major venue, 53 Degrees, a month back. I didn't go because at the time I didn't have the money and I didn't wanna go into overdraft. Worst decision of the last two months, tbh. :( *adds 'better decision making' to New Year's Resolutions list*
  13. Because America has gotten to the point where it's so unrivaled in terms of power, there is no other authority in the world that can credibly step in. Nothing short of Condoleezza stepping of a plane in Jerusalem demanding a cease fire will result in one. Until America turns round to both sides, and tell them both to stop the violence, it won't stop. The EU does what it can. It's been providing humanitarian relief in Palestine for years in order to reduce the desperation for Hamas to stay in power. Only, the buildings that money went to build are now being reduced to rubble because Israel cannot control its temperance. Hamas needs to stop the rocket attacks, but Israel in turn also has to agree to the peace process. In any case, this debate avoids what the war is really about - how the Kadima party are doing in the polls.
  14. Indeed they do. However, claiming to be a 'better nation' because you don't target civilians, and then targeting them in strategic operations is blatant hypocrisy. For peace to ever occur in the Middle East, a stable and united state of Palestine has to exist first. When you have a country neighboring you, with a Zionist agenda, constantly threatening to wipe out one of your major political parties along with the entire territory's infrastructure, how likely do you think that is? Nothing, and I emphasise nothing, Israel has done in the past four days has helped bring the Middle East to permanent peace. Simply lumping the blame on Palestine, and telling Israel to sort it doesn't cut as an argument, I'm afraid. You've just whined about the rockets Hamas are using, but you don't like people complaining about Israel's weapons. Double standards, much? Here's one way to ensure civilians don't die: cooperate with the rest of the international community (less America) to restore lasting peace. And from what I'm seeing, neither side is committed to peace. Israel is adamant to see this through to the bitter end; a ceasefire is not on the table as far as they're concerned. I find when two forces are at a stalemate, the onus is usually on a third party to come in and negotiate a solution. Only, this third party would be America, but America's happy for Israel to continue, so Israel continues to support the War on Terror. Don't lecture the Palestinians on peace, yet continue to turn a blind eye to America's foreign agenda.
  15. Surely being in the friend zone makes it easier to send out "flares" hinting that you're wanting a bit more than just friendship anyway? I'm fine with my friends hugging and flirting with me, but God if some girl just approached me in the middle of town and started it I'd freak. :? Essentially, it boils down to intuition with other people, and weighing up chances. ;)
  16. Ignorance isn't bad necessarily. After all, there's no possible way a human can know everything the rest of humanity collectively knows - there will be some gaps in knowledge. Willful ignorance is something entirely different though. I call it arrogance, and I despise it. Apathy? Depends what it's about. If someone was dying in front of me, and I was apathetic to the situation, I'd have a problem. That ad at the top of this page though? Couldn't care less.
  17. Of course not. Just because I condemn Israel's actions doesn't mean I'm Hamas' #1 fanboy. As Fatah have said, if they hadn't launched the rockets in the first place, this wouldn't have happened. That doesn't give Israel a right to obliterate Gaza's entire infrastructure though.
  18. Nope. The resulting zygote is unsustainable because of its unmatching genetic code.

Today it's cold. Very cold. -3C cold. I had to wear a scarf for the first time ever and felt like a right [bleep] because of it. :( I can't remember a winter this cold in my life. Dad says this is how they always used to be. On the other hand, cooked a lovely Toad in the Hole for dinner ('sept the puddings were premade, so the sausages were seperate). :
  20. No one is honestly suggesting Israel has no right to defend itself from attack, however: 1) The scale of the attack is wholly disproportionate and appalling; 2) The attack was conducted in full knowledge there would be innocent civilian casualties as a result of the massive firepower used in the assault; 3) Israel's attacks are a direct attack on a political party, rather than a country; 4) Israel still has not, four days into the attack, laid down conditions for victory. Is it the destruction of Hamas? Is it to stop the rockets? Is it to take more land? This rather hints the attacks are purposeless, unless of course, the polls have anything to say; 5) The attack is counter productive to the peace process. Gordon Brown was absolutely right when he said "There is no military solution to this situation"; 6) These attacks could not have been coordinated in the one and a half weeks since the cease fire officially ended. This is not a response to the cease fire, this has been in the pipeline for quite some time. I would personally suggest since Lebanon.
  21. No one is disputing this. But can you come up with one decent reason why heterosexual couples should be allowed to act on their "wants", yet homosexual couples should not? Thumbs. Essentially, our sophistication as humans stems from our ability to use tools and write in a common language. Nothing to do with homosexuality. Now stop raising strawmen.
  22. I concur. They're the only team Sky Sports ever show, except last weekend when it was pointless anyway (Would have been better than Patriots vs Bills though).
  23. I like The Feeling, and one James Blunt song. Now do I fail?
  24. Aside from the adventures and the side-scrollers, Mario. Sonic, unless they keep to 2D. Killzone.
  25. Ah, this old chestnut. Could it be that Hamas was forced to put military bases in the middle of cities because its been given a stupidly small amount of land to work with for the amount of people it has? The Gaza strip is the largest refugee camp in the world, yet you expect Hamas to make a decent country out of it? Even the UN hasn't blamed Hamas for having military bases in the middle of cities. Far from it, it actually condemned Israel for using excessive force in a small area in the knowledge civilian casualties would be a result. Last I checked, hospitals and schools make pretty damn useless military bases too, yet they're being targeted. Strange. 480 deaths in ten years : 320 deaths in three days? Your argument would work if I actually supported our actions in either Afghanistan or Iraq. You appear to have fallen for the newly christened "All people from a country think the same as its government" fallacy. ...And the other side has claimed a divine right to your holy land. Be honest here, they're both belligerents, it's just one acts the sweet maiden to the West whilst portraying the other as the untamed beast. Do you realise how unjust its history has been since WWII, thanks to Europe and the US? Your argument is tantamount to saying "Oh look how much company X gave away to its competitors" when it owned a monopoly in the first place.
