  1. [hide=Here's a straw] You're clutching at it.[/hide] The votes gained per time period aren't anywhere near high enough to merit any sort of hope that this vote will pass a significant total. Whether it's 0.5 votes or 1 vote per minute being lost, the rate is still decreasing.
  2. I'm interested what Jagex's next move will be. $15/mnth for an outdated game that's only being re-released for nostalgia's sake is far too much. I can get far better classic PC games for $15. Not a month. Just $15. Will they change the goalposts or say "You made your bed, go lie in it". This is assuming it doesn't reach 250K of course.
  3. I'm not anticipating a large increase over the weekend. Firstly, because a lot of people who play weekends only also play on Friday night (as opposed to Sunday evening), and secondly because I don't think there's that many "weekend-only" players. I think it will reach 250K. 500K? Not a chance. That's not an ideal result for me, but it's still one that's wholly acceptable. Bring it back, commit a small amount of resources to it, charge $5 for it. Fine by me.
  4. One Small Favour's quite fun if you set yourself a challenge to do it as a time trial. >:] I apply that philosophy to most things in life that I'd otherwise find boring. Keeps it all interesting. :^_^:
  5. Which markets have crashed? I want specific answers, not a generalised doom forecast.
  6. We didn't put up with it then. Don't mistake our inability to prevent botting with any sort of tolerance for it. It's very much something we've never "put up" with.
  7. People have been asking "What's the best way to do X" since the start of RuneScape. Efficiency is hardly a novel concept, and it's certainly not one unique to RuneScape. Just about every game in which there is a goal, which includes most level-up RPGs, has a method which is best to achieving those goals most productively.
  8. We already have. The fact it's taken you 24 pages to even notice this thread, and have only ever posted here once speaks volumes of just how active you are in the RuneScape community.
  9. It stands to reason that only those who played 2007scape should be allowed to vote on its return. It would be practically impossible and such a permutation won't be applied, but a vote cast by anyone who wasn't a member on 10 August 2007 is a vote cast in total ignorance.
  10. I know... we disagree with you and we're explaining all of the reasons why we disagree with you. This freedom of expression thing is shocking, isn't it?
  11. A simple hierarchy of evidence would disagree with you, I'm afraid. Evidence is neither 'right' or 'wrong'. It is simply more accurate or less, more reliable or less. If you think one theory and its accompanying evidence is wrong, provide a stronger body of evidence that proves so. I'd look at the results, see you're right and agree that my own is inadequate in supporting my theory any longer, in light of the new evidence. That's how an evidence base works. So please, show me this (better) poll that says people who'd pay for 2007scape aren't in a minority.
  12. You have to imagine Jagex would send an email out at the least to alert them. Plus those who quit may be part of general MMO or WoW forums where they'd catch wind of the poll. A satisfactory result for those of us who aren't interested would be for the servers to exist if there's enough interest for them, but only if there's a charge for using them that covers their costs. Then it really is none of our concern, perhaps even a tiny benefit in a small amount of extra profit for the company.
  13. Agreed. It's poor evidence. But given you have no evidence at all to prove a majority exists, it's still better than none at all.
  14. http://www.tip.it/ru...-play-on-a-2007 As of right now, 73% of the people asked support 2007scape. If you ask people to start paying an extra charge for it, that number drops dramatically to 20%. I think that constitutes a minority.
  15. You could do your Jad vid again. Just sayin'. Nothing in 2007scape about monogamy either. ;)
  16. We know it dropped on average between 2008 and 2012. We don't know when that drop actually happened between those two dates, because there's no data points inbetween. Therefore we can't deduce when, or therefore for what reason, the number of RuneScape members started significantly dropping. Is it really that hard to understand how utterly unreliable and useless the graph you provided is?
  17. Correction: He's using a two data points within a month of each other to imply causation with an event that happened 48 months ago. To say it's an intellectual scandal to pass those statistics off with that strong of a conclusion would be a massive understatement.
  18. Yeah, but then most of them will leave Main RS and leave you guys with a better enviornment. Are you really that naive? Before I was putting it down to a lack of forum experience, but now I see you're completely delusional.
  19. There's no way Jagex would make a rod for their own back, given they've basically written the rules of this game. It's fair to assume 300K is more than achievable, and we have no guarantee of just how fair this 'vote' will be (I say this with the Free Trade vote in mind).
  20. You don't need our support then, surely? :?
  21. I've explained how. Stop repeating the same question and expecting me to give a different answer.
  22. 2007 RS is a completely seperate and different game than current RS. He won't be playing it. I don't see how what people do on a game you don't play can bother you is what I am saying. No, it doesn't work like that. You can't sit here and preposition us into supporting this, and then tell us it has nothing to do with us after. That's not how responsibility works in reality... If we said 'yes' to this fearing that botting would run rampant over 2007-scape, and then exactly that happened, that's what we'd have voted for. No way.
