  1. Even at 22, the number of elderly patients I've dealt with who've basically been dumped on the health service / state-funded social care because their families can't be arsed / don't know how to look after them... I wish more people would take the same responsibility for their parents as you have. It's certainly not an insult in that context.
  2. In your dreams. My first post in FG, just to ruin yours. Vezon.
  3. Congratulations! :)
  4. You'd know more than I would. So he enjoys it now, then? Well that seems much more reasonable. In that case, he never really disliked it in the first place. We all grow tired of things. :P All I'd heard was that he'd quit, said he didn't really like playing, didn't think he'd come back. Heard nothing about him since.
  5. I'm not judging anyone; I've made that quite clear in my first post Prod. I'm hardly being aggressive either. What I am is interested in people and the reasons they do things, and I'm exploring what motivations could possibly lead someone to do something they dislike as aggressively and efficiently as he has done. Saying "It's personal, that's the end of it" is a completely useless and inadequate understanding of the people around us. Because given my (admittedly) highly personal and limited experience of life, if people find themselves doing something they don't like, they don't tend to do it for very long and they don't tend to do it with any enthusiasm, and I'm sat here wondering what is it about this guy that means he's different to that general rule.
  6. Honestly? If it's something I've genuinely not gotten any enjoyment out of doing in the first place, no I haven't returned to it. At least nothing I can think of. Not even for a wage. Perhaps you could give me an example from your own life where you have, something I could relate to, so you could jog my memory. Why would anyone? It's not we live in serfdom; within context we can more-or-less do whatever job we want and do whatever recreational activities we want. I don't see anything "real" about saying you dislike something, and then saying you're only doing it because of your own perfectionist tendencies.
  7. I'm not sure about awe. I'm stunned, yes, but I find it all a bit nauseating really. I'm not taking anything away from what many other RuneScapers would see as an achievement, and it is an achievement. Nor is it my place to judge his life or how much he plays the game. However, this is a guy who said five months ago that he hated the game, but because he was such a perfectionist, he felt he had to go on. I can't really know what that feels like, but compulsively doing something against your own free will... that must be a such a horrible place to be. I just hope that of all the emotions he feels when he finally does get 5B, a sense of personal freedom and liberty is the one that will be most prominent.
  8. Since starting my hospital placement, which is effectively working full-time, I barely have a couple of hours to play RuneScape during working days. It's severely crippled my progression through the regions, but I'm at The Scythe now. I'm going to focus on earlier regions so I can use my full voyage count per day, and I'll just focus on upgrading buildings for now. I'll probably send all my boats out overnight for cherrywood missions, so I can keep my crew recruitment going. I don't have any of the skills needed to make anything from PoP yet, so there's literally nothing to be gained from rushing through it. As an aside, it's probably easier to get scrolls here anyway. The scramble for armour has all but ended now. To be honest, this is one of very few RuneScape features which genuinely feels like you're playing a classic RPG, in the sense that you can mix-and-match your approach to suit circumstances in reality, and the game doesn't punish you too harshly for it.
  9. All anyone does with a lanyard is stuff it into their chest pocket or, failing that, under their top. They're completely useless.
  10. When me and my friends first started drinking, and it was all pretty new to us, we went to a house party for some girl's birthday who I'd never even met before. The house was incredible, three bathrooms, more rooms than they knew what to do with, two lounges. We started drinking, I had a glass of vodka with coke mixer. I noticed the beverage was black but with a hint of dark blue... I put this down to the poor quality of the cola and a relatively large volume of diluted vodka, and drank anyway. After half the glass I was very drunk (although, being new to the experience, I didn't really recognise this because I didn't know what "drunk" felt like). I also started to feel slightly queasy, which, like the drink, I put down to reasons other than alcohol. In this case, it was nerves from being so introverted in a room full of people I'd never seen. I went to the toilet, next thing I know, that slight uneasiness in my stomach turns into a full blown tide of vomit which I just about managed to aim into the sink. I managed to clean it up before anyone noticed, and went back to my friends. I asked my friend if I could see the vodka bottle. What she thought was diluted vodka actually turned out to be full strength vodka, and I'd just drank about half a cup full with fizzy cola. I spent the next hour vomiting in the kitchen sink in a house full of about 75 strangers, and not really knowing how to make myself better, until my friends eventually decided it was better to get a lift home from one of their relatives. Apparently, the girl's mother was spitting venom about me after I left and with hindsight I really can't blame her. Four years later, it appears I haven't learned my limits. :/
  11. It plays a part, though, doesn't it?
  12. I woke up last Sunday massively overslept with about two litres of vomit on my pillow and running underneath the duvet, and a full pizza on my desk chair, with no recollection of anything between getting into the nightclub and waking up in the morning. It was horrible and I hope I never end up that way again, so I can't really judge anyone for it. :(
  13. Not just prostitution, but sex in general. We have a very immature attitude towards anything concerning sex. I agree with you. The best one is how much of medieval and renaissance art depicts naked figures, and how these works are seen as "cultural", but a lad's magazine in 2013 does the same and it's "porn". The only difference is the medium; it's a total contradiction.

Less people play RuneScape, less people join Tip.It, less people go to the OT board.
  15. Start again. Enjoy RuneScape when it's grind-free and you only have to wait ten minutes in between levels, while it lasts. Most of the basic skills/equipment you don't need members for anyway.
  16. I don't think those of us who are against the legalisation of prostitution are "upset" with those individuals who are forced into that situation. I know you were making a flippant point, but it was one that completely misrepresented how we feel about the issue nevertheless.
  17. I remember hearing that 8th January was the day women were most likely to register to online dating websites or some date around that period. That's a NY resolution factor, of course, but my point is that these events do hold significance for a lot of women (and men).

    Today I.... What... the... [bleep]...?
  19. Clare and Lekti in EoE chat don't count as women... well they do... but not in this context.
  20. There was a ginger paediatrician on Casualty/Holby a while back. She was post-menopausal though. Does that matter to Draz when he's drunk?
  21. Pls If we're perving on fictional hospital staff, it's Dr Lara Stone from Casualty c. 2001 or GTFO: [hide][/hide] Daaammmnnnn.
