They all form part of how we play with the world around us. There might be more sophistication to a book and a book might also be more grounded in the 'real world', but I see no sense in comparing their relative value in "intellectual stimulation". They all stimulate the mind in some way or another.

Nothing prepares you for the emotional burden of doing CPR. You'll find that, if it happens, something will take over and you will do what you've been trained to do. Because historically, people who are trained in CPR, almost always do if they're in a situation where it's needed. I know people that have done CPR two or three times and it's still something they find terrifying, which is a perfectly natural reaction to that situation, so I wouldn't reflect on that feeling too personally.
  7. Norton recommended me to update to the latest version in an email specifically concerning the Zero Day issue. It was the most experted opinion I had available at the time, so I updated. No disaster has occurred yet.
  8. ^ Is the same camp I'm in, and truthfully, it wasn't part of my school's curriculum when I was 8 years old.
  9. Reasonably sure. I wasn't getting poisoned much at all but I'm sure I did it get poisoned during the task. I mostly ignored it because the poison hits very low.

  11. Add to this, they can poison too.
  12. The English side of my family originally came from Belgium many generations ago so... maybe a touch of indifference whilst consuming vast quantities of luxury chocolate?

I tried making a beef stir fry today, and I also tried using spices in a stir fry for the first time too. The beef bit was lovely, perhaps a bit too chewy, but I had no idea how much chili flakes I should add, so I put in 1 tbsp over two portions of stir fry thinking "What's the worst that can happen?". My eyes were actually watering as I ate it and I downed two cups of water after! At least I know how to cook a stir fry with something other than chicken now, though. The best lessons in life are learned the hard way... x_x
  14. It's painful to admit as someone who believes Dungeoneering was in its own special place as a skill that required genuine talent to perform effectively, but there simply isn't the same number of players training DG at the higher levels as there used to be a year ago. Add to that the release of solo-able DG xp rates, and it's very little wonder why clan-based DG activity has suffered. This thread was more aimed at PvP clans than DG clans though. I don't know an awful lot about the former, so I'll reserve comment and stop derailing the thread. I only wanted to make clear that the "death of clan DG" (in hyperbolic terms) is as much a result of natural causes as it is any intervention on Jagex's part.
  15. It's a U-turn from their stance only three days ago ("It's working as intended"), but better late than never. Anyone would think they didn't test this before it went live! Can you imagine the thought?!
  16. The sad thing is by the time you'd got home after doing a whole exam, I hadn't even woken up yet today. Tough life.
  17. In resizeable, when you make the window smaller, the tabs adjust accordingly, but with the size we're talking about you should really just play on fixed. Aside from that, I've yet to find a way.
  18. I only wish I could do a Facebook-style @WoodenFruit right here, just to wind her up. :P
  19. Nice to have one in the back pocket, even if it's not necessarily the one you're after. Gives confidence for the later interviews.
  20. If you're going to make drops that rare and levels that high, you can't justify a boss that forces players to die every now and then. How would you feel if, even though you'd fought the perfect battle against KK, there was a real chance that something you've worked hundreds of hours to obtain could be snatched away without compensation, and this was completely out of your control? It would wreck KK as a viable prospect.

If they do not wish to help certain people because of what they deem to be inappropriate behaviour, then that's their choice and I think we have to be very careful about shoving secular beliefs down religious people's throats, because it's exactly that basis on which we've argued against religious organisations in the past. What I find totally unacceptable, is for such an organisation to continue to operate under the name of a 'charity', and to continue to receive the support from government in the form of tax breaks and grants. Charity, by virtue of its definition, is not selectively allocated for certain people who follow a certain lifestyle which you, as the charity's owner or treasurer, happen to find more favourable. If you run a charity, then unless you can argue that there are compelling reasons not to (health and safety in the workplace for example), you must open your services to everyone. To do otherwise is downright hypocrisy and is anything but an act of benevolence.
