  1. No, they made it from pixie dust and painted it red... obviously.
  2. It's definitely there. I don't know the date.
  3. That's obviously the reason I left EoE :P
  4. * Buy 27 silk at -3gp per silk, combined total -81gp = -81gp * Spend 30gp to go to Karamja = -111gp * Spend 30gp to go to Ardougne = -141gp * Sell 27 silk at +60gp per silk, combined total +1620 = +1479gp.
  5. You can buy silk in Al Kharid for 3gp each. Then spend 30gp to go to Karamja, then run to Brimhaven and spend 30gp to go to Ardy. Then sell your silk to the Ardy silk trader for 60gp each (offer 120gp each first). Dat math! Silk - 3gp Boat trip 1 - 30gp Boat trip 2 - 30gp Total cost - 63gp Ardy silk trader pays 60gp Your money maker is making -3gp per silk there... It isn't 30gp per silk... it's 30gp per trip, carrying up to 27 silks at a time. So: (27*60)-((27*(3)+(30+30)) = +1479. Dat math!
  6. I'd honestly question how much recognition a skillcape earns these days. Pretty much everyone has one, and let's be honest, getting 99 in a skill (or 120 dungeoneering) in RuneScape is hardly the pinnacle of gaming achievement. I have two 99s. Dungeoneering was a byproduct of enjoying that skill so much. Magic was to improve combat performance in DG mainly. I didn't really think about social recognition in either of them.
  7. As an aside, this was always the hazard of Jagex bringing back monthly BTS posts. I think they're a good thing overall, but at least beforehand we wouldn't have known RS07 had postponed another update, and carried on in blissful ignorance.
  8. I'm surprised to see it trying to engage in some kind of graphical arms race, as they have in previous generations. Wii-U didn't exactly lay down a gauntlet to the other two next gens (it's becoming more apparent over time just how "improved" the Wii-U's graphics are to its predecessor). PCs will almost always be superior on that front. I'd have thought Nintendo's success with the Wii, as gimmicky as hardcore gamers like to believe it was, and especially the DS would prove a need to move away from the old "most powerful console wins" strategy, and focus on the console's ability to provide a gaming experience.
  9. People complained about FT removal a looooong time before it was eventually brought back in. The basic reality is that a massive majority of RuneScapers (I wasn't part of that majority, myself) wanted Free Trade to return, and it suited Jagex as a company to bring it back in. Same here with 07scape, without the majority part, but still with significant enough to support to milk the cash cow while it's there. Jagex don't necessarily respond to whining, it just suits their aims as a company to do so every now and then.
  10. Well... yeah fine. Your choice. But 07scape is here, whining on here ain't gona change that, so you're just winding yourself up for no reason. They've made their choice. Make yours.
  11. It's a shame all the people who whined like children for the 2007 servers to come back didn't do that. It is, they're no better. I've consistently been one of the most vociferous voices against 07scape returning in this thread, but even I don't see the point of holding on to a lingering anger at other people when there's a far simpler choice on the table of just walking away. Furthermore, money talks. If people walk from the live game because of the way they've handled this, and take their subscription cash with them, that's a far greater demonstration of customer power than shouting at 07scapers on TiF.
  12. "Tans knows how much about Ann Summers toys?" - not Roberto Mancini.
  13. Find another game then, if only temporarily. But I can guarantee two things if you continue to rant in this thread: 1) You won't be happy afterwards; 2) Jagex won't give a [bleep].
  14. I think comments about bugs on release are becoming increasingly irrelevant, as the option of patching retrospectively becomes more frequent across the whole industry. Thousands of players will pick up bugs far faster than a few QA testers.
  15. Crystal bow, to be fair. Agility's not entirely useless.
  16. Surely the value is relative. If one gold piece in 07scape is worth five gold pieces in the live game (argument's sake), then asking for payment in live game money will cost five times as much.
  17. I've probably misunderstood your point and if so, that's my fault. But what has EoC got to do with "runners"?
  18. Surely Plank Make would be a better option if you're considering feasibility. It generally profits/makes less loss than String Amulet. The main drawback is the lack of AFK. EDIT: Using today's GE prices, Plank Make on mahogany logs is about ~5gp/xp higher than String Amulet on a gold amulet.
  19. Reflection on past and present experience is essential to self-development in just about every aspect of life. There are a few main models of reflection, but they all ultimately follow the same pattern. The simplest version is Borton's model of reflection: What? -- a description of the event So what? -- why the event is significant, and to whom is the event is significant to Now what? -- what you will do if the event happens again The best lessons are learned the hard way. Reflection ensures you only need to do it the hard way once before learning the lesson. Some of the stupidest people I've ever met have fundamentally lacked any ability to look at their own efforts and identify where they've gone wrong, where other people have gone right.
  20. Refusing to apologise for actions you knew would get you in trouble in the first place but still chose to do anyway is a sign of immaturity, regardless of context. The only exception I can think of is martyrdom, and I highly doubt Suomi was trying to make himself an e-Hero for child conscripts and sex slaves in sub-Saharan Africa. The mature response would have been: "I'm sorry Jagex, I broke your rules and I accept the name reversal. However, I still want to publicise Kony 2012, so I'll do it elsewhere."
  21. He wasn't that mature in the first place, to be honest. Changed his name to KONY 2012 in March 2012, Jagex reverted his name back, his responding video started with "I still don't regret changing my name though". Come to think of it, a remarkably similar pattern to recent events.
  22. I don't suppose the fact that they've done it before counts? Again, got any proof? Anything? Geniune question this time. I'll give it a shot, although i will say rigging is a bit of a harsh word. More like Blatant mishandling. 1. Bribing players by saying that anyone who votes for it gets free membership on it first month. 2. Urging players to vote for it even if they're not planning to play it, just do it for your friends. 3. Advertising over the Website, lobby, in game, and there various social media accounts. 4. They voting yes for it. 5. They having the server ready somehow, not even a week into voting yet. 6. Allowing players to make 2 new membership accounts for 2 dollars just so they can votes yes for it. (Although i heard you couldn't do this anymore) 7. Lowering the tiers and flat out removing the 750k vote benefits to be moved down to the 500k ones. Some of the ones that i could think of the top off my head, a bit busy now but if anyone could add on to it it would be nice. Only further to the comment of "having done it before", allowing the free trade/Wilderness vote to be F2P, allowing for unfettered bot abuse of the voting system. Doesn't apply now and it has no relevance to this poll anyway.
  23. Meh... semantics. Let's just agree that the rules of this game aren't the same now as they were when the game started. Whether you say that's "rigging" or "cheating" is neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.
