  1. Nope, the argument was about psychological maturity and how it tied into physical maturity. Feel free to show where I gave up an argument because I was proven wrong. It's happened before, though not on this thread, and I'm quick to admit when I'm wrong. Not in the sense that physical and psychological maturity are interdependent as Wikipedia so handily mentions. If you aren't physically mature, you can't be completely psychologically mature. Psychological is referring to the human mind; if the part that controls maturity isn't finsihed developing, you aren't completely mature. Quite simple, really.
  2. I see that you've given up on your previous argument. A little statement like 'sorry, you were right' would go a long way. Now that we're back to the first argument: That particular statement was tied into physical maturity, and was being responded to as such. Had you read the background behind it, you would have understood.
  3. I'm ignoring the immature personal 'insults', and focusing on the debate. It would probably be a good idea for you to do so too. And your conveniently ignoring the fact that it never says that age has nothing to do with it. It says that it isn't directly dependent on age, yes. That doesn't mean it has nothing to do with it, as evidenced later in the article. There's also another interesting article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontal_lobe I quote: "The executive functions of the frontal lobes involve the ability to recognize future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and bad actions (or better and best), override and suppress unacceptable social responses, and determine similarities and differences between things or events. Therefore, it is involved in higher mental functions." Yep, sounds an awfullll lot like those 'psychological maturity' thingies you were talking about. Let's look at another interesting sentence in that article: "The frontal lobe reaches full maturity around age 25, marking the cognitive maturity associated with adulthood. " That state rests, your honor.
  4. Alright, I'll try to continue with the logic. Let me know when you decide to go that route too. Good, then we're in complete agreement. Why are you continuing to post? Read it quite carefully, and it certainly applied to both of us - as did my response. Clearly, you wuold do better to respond to the arguments raised then try and bring up personal issues. Actually, wikipedia says they're related, as you agreed with earlier. Shall I repeat it for you? "The relationship between psychological maturity and age is a difficult one." Since your having a difficult time comprehending the sentence structure, I figured I might as well grab another source. Here's an interesting quote from http://talbenshahar.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=39: "There is, on the whole, a correlation between age and maturity. "
  5. That would indeed be what I said. Oh, so your point is that they ARE related? Good, now we agree. Like I said, I'm at least halfway mature. Given that I'm more capable of long term decisions then my 6 year old daughter or my 12 year old son, I'm going to go with over halfway. Then again, what would long term decision making have to do with putting your post in context? Sounds to me more like an attempted personal jab. Thankfully, I read everything you said, dissected it, and responded to it individually. Your welcome to disagree with each of the individual responses, I'll be eagerly awaiting your rebuttals.
  6. Nope, both of them are tied together. You seem to be having a hard time grasping that concept. I did. Wikipedia says it best: "The relationship between psychological maturity and age is a difficult one."
  7. No, I didn't. I responded to a long post where the OP referred to physical and psychological maturity together. Why can't you accept that and move on? Never heard of him before this thread. But I've heard that there's this odd phenomenon where two people can agree with each other Just because they are both psychological doesn't make them inextricably linked - and on the opposite end of the spectrum, physical and psychological are certainly not completely separate. It's time you looked at the issue as a whole, not each sentences as a completely independent thought or idea
  8. Really! That's wonderful! Thanks for letting me know that! Except that I already agreed with and acknowledged that in the first place! Now, how does that tie into the argument again?
  9. I'm completely agreeing with what the dictionary says. Perhaps you could get more specific on which part you think I disagree on. Unfortunately for your argument, the two of them aren't completely separate unrelated categories.
  10. Exactly why he should quit whining, as he has no idea what he's talking about. It was a roundabout way of delivering my point :
  11. I'm not distorting truth, I'm trying to find a way to keep responding to your continuous use of the exact same questions. Again, not true. Just because something doesn't depend completely on it doesn't mean it has no relation to it. I go back to what I said earlier. A kid can be afraid of parents punishment (short term, hardly even applicable) or the long reaching health consequences 40 years down the road. One indicates maturity, one indicates a lack thereof - yet both have the same response. Responses are not the end all, be all indicators of thought processes.
  12. Nope. Your wikipedia article says that maturity isn't dependent on age, not that it doesn't have anything to do with it. Depends. Are you referring to brain development or responses that seem mature?
  13. The combat triangle: Mage > range > melee < Mage It's a fact. Post on some of the other threads I've argued this on if you want further proof, I'm not going through it again on a whole other thread.
  14. He wasn't. Read through the previous posts; it was established that the two were related and tied to brain maturity.
  15. Do we have to follow the phb terms of service along with tip.its? As long as we want to use the phb boards...
  16. But I wasn't simply referring to thinking things through in my response, so that's irrelevant. His point wasn't to split them up, his point was to continue the discussion on the differences once the connection had been established.
  17. I agree. I'm not, but he is. You don't understand. All those 'transition times' are ALREADY factored in to my calculations. Take a closer look.
  18. 99s are a goal, XP items are a goal. Getting a holiday event is not, and until I see a few screenshots from 'high level players', I'm sticking with results from the ones I know
  19. Making money: GWD requires hopping around anyway, it's not like you can camp at bandos and make a few hundred million Summoning: Again, you can't just camp at rock lobsters from 1-99 summoning. We're talking about a few switches on the way to 99, not a few every hour. Your switching a heck of a lot more then that running around between slayer monsters. That being said, all the times factor in banking time. So your point is wrong.
  20. I envision someone standing near him kicking away balls that come close just to annoy people. And they would be VERY annoyed...
  21. I think that sometimes kids can think things through carefully, and sometimes they can't. What part of that do you think is wrong? Because that particular statement was tied into physical maturity, and was being responded to as such. Had you read the background, you would have understood.
  22. Good, then you again agree with me. Nice to see you've decided to being reading my posts before responding.
  23. The same thing we do now - Junk trade, RWT, BH, or any of the half dozen other transferring methods I could mention here were it not against tif rules. And your point would be? You had that wealth, and it required a grand total of 5 seconds of work in RS. Perhaps you could point out some of those maxed players. I'm friends with quite a few of them, and not one of them has ever told me 'man, skills are so boring and not worth training, I just can't wait for that next holiday event!'
  24. That's just not true. What benefits does slayer provide 'from the get go'? I really can't think of any. You aren't 'hopping around' with regular combat training; and as stated earlier, there just aint many of us who have the time to max out.
  25. Because in the previous posts when I was arguing with him it was established that there was a link preventing them from being considered fully mature, as I've said at least 25 times now.
