  1. Range out hits melee at the same combat level, period. Melee is the weakest of the three combat skills by far. Proven many times, it's time you faced the facts. Just because something takes skill and practice to use effectively doesn't mean it is weaker - in this case, it means quite the opposite. If it's not working for you, then your not using it correctly.
  2. You seem to be missing the point. You can't just go back and get your stuff; you've got a clan sitting there waiting for you, knowing you're back for your AGS. With all available entrance points covered, you won't get within sight of that godsword.
  3. That's exactly the thread it is. And I'm not sure if Jagex is doing this for favorable opinion or something, because their goal is still that of every other business: making money. In the end, more money = more updates, so everyone's happy.
  4. Because the less revenue Jagex gets, the fewer updates we get. I agree with the poster. FTP can whine about it all they want, but if Jagex is earning money off of it they should keep it that way.
  5. No, it's not any good.
  6. You missed the point. You won't be able to reach your godsword; you'll be frozen the second you appear, they watch for things like that. And if you drink it at "35 hp or so" they will heal you to full, and continue smiting. Repeat until you die.

If we start getting charms from a minigames we will get it from other ones... In amounts too small to be worth doing, like every other worthless minigame.
  8. Fun. No minigame has rewards that make it worth playing, asides from smithing for SC.
  9. That's why I posted it the way I did. He was using and discussing it as if it was the actual profit to prove that slayer was far more then 120k per hour profit.
  10. Depends on your lobster spot; I find the 7 spot much faster XP.
  11. It's in there, take another look ;) That's the same reason I train slayer myself.

So it's a 'fun' minigame with a small XP bonus? Doesn't seem like too much of a threat or an indication of ubierly powered XP giving minigames that will ruin summoning in the future.
  13. Since when have I 'dropped' summoning? Both Armored Zombies and slayer are poor methods of training summoning, but they have always been counted in our calculations. Not sure about the whole 'slayer xp is 65k xp is made up, it's really 50k' thing is about, but 65k is from qeltar\me\ydraisl's numbers. Do yourself a favor and read through the replys.
  14. Profit is what we are discussing, NOT net gain. Yes, I more then break even in 'net gain'.

Well right now this sucks for charms but if we keep getting minigames with charm rewards it will almost defeat the purpose of summoning. How so? As long as they don't beat regular charm methods it won't change anything. And judging by the way PC went, Jagex neither plans to escalate minigame XP rewards or even make them worth using at all.

So what if they can train it that way? They could also train it through genie lamps or TOG. It''s their loss if they are stupid enough to try and get them through this game.
  17. Ew. Terrible regular weapon, special is horridly inaccurate and very rarely works. DD++ is years ahead of it, to say nothing of d claws.
  18. Sell them with tables

  20. Most others seem to find my posts helpful, I've rarely been told (once, actually) that I posted incorrect or incomplete information :| Also, I believe 130+ WPM typing to be above the average. Quite a few H&A threads can be answered in under 2 paragraphs, a minute's worth of typing.
  21. Don't fight tank rangers? There goes the whole 'jagex favors melee' argument. Ah yes, run back to where the team is and pick up your godsword  They can continue to lower you even if you have a prayer pot left. 99 hp = 25 prayer removed, roughly one dose, so all it takes is 4-5 easy more rounds (3-4 attacks) and the prayer pot is gone - faster still if he is praying.
  22. Then how much per hour would you have to earn to make barraging/bursting more efficient? :-k :-k Depends on how you value magic and melee XP. Different ways to calculate it with different results, it has to be done on a case by case basis unless you use the generic values of difficulty to obtain.
  23. They can't just update it. Everyone will use the best weapon. Make warhammer the best against most armor, and no one will touch whip or any other waepon again. Stop what? #-o

You COMPLETELY missed my point. I can restate it again for you: Normal magic is for general monster killing\every day handy magic usage. Ancients are for PKing. And ancients are FAR too powerful - magic needs a nerf. Right now it's a joke against melee and as effective or more so then range.
  25. Depends on the methods, but earning 300k with piety is unrealistic. I'm not sure what the usual profit is, slayer helm is changing your number slightly, I tend to be lucky if I break even :P
