Normally I don't give gifts, nor recieve them because I'm not around this time, or in last year's case I had quit. This year however, some new friends I made gave me some unexpected presents :o . Yeah, but for Smithing I got lucky when I tried. Got +6 within 3 stews. Just luck though <_<. When I used it for Herblore, took me ~15 stews for +6.

I've also heard of people just getting a glitch where they can't do that for a trade, but when they try again it worked.

I wouldn't suggest relying only on GE prices. Also do a check on the forums by searching them and looking at recently completed trades.

That's true but Mod Mark said they had a research team do research for a couple months before it came out. Now if they had a couple months, I would expect more accurate prices on most items. Some could just be outdated, but most just don't make sense.
