  1. Let's see, if I had full lumberjack I could probably save 4 hours trying to get 99 wc, although I'm pretty sure it will take me a lot longer to get it than 4 hours. Not worth getting, IMO.
  2. I believe the yew logs rose in price because of the String X update. Now that cutting logs is the same speed as stringing longs (U), it would be logical to assume that more people turned to cutting logs for fletching XP.
  3. I don't exactly remember the FIRST thing I did as a noob, but I do have some fond memories of some of my first actions. I remembering heading up north into the wilderness. I read in one of the guides that the deeper you go, the more treasure there would be. So i went all the way until I could go no more (lvl 48 wildy I think). I remember seeing that gate that barred my progress, and me thinking "arghh I need to be a member to get more treasure!!!" So, as I travelled west, I saw the runite rocks for the first time. I was amazed that they required lvl 85 mining to mine. As I travelled further west, I encountered the spider pit. Lo and behold, a cut sapphire was waiting for me. I hastily grabbed it and made out of there as fast as I could. I successfully made it back to Varrock, bragging that I had a rare gem with me. Ah, those were the days.
  4. Ninja monkey greegree Who knows what wacky adventures would ensue :-k
  5. I have been playing 2 and a half years and have been scammed twice. Pretty good IMO, since most players are the targets of scams hundreds of times throughout their time on RS. The first time I got scammed, my account was barely 2 weeks old. I made 50k from selling feathers 5 ea (I felt as if I was the richest player back then). A guy in varrock east bank was selling rune pick for 20k. I knew they were 32k at the dwarven mine, so I thought it was a good deal. I fell for the switcheroo trick, got a mere bronze pick. I was extremely frustated at losing 20k. That was 4k chicken's worth of feathers down the drain :wall: . I even sent a letter to customer support saying how so-and-so scammed me 20k. To add insult to injury, I recieved an automated message stating that I would never get my 20k back. From then on, I have always checked the 2nd trade screen. It worked- I didn't get scammed for over 2 years. Unfortunately, the day I lapsed, I losted 800k to a scammer. He was selling 3597 yew longs (U) 250 ea, which was a bargain. I offered 899250 gp, which was the exact value. He declined and asked for 900k. I offered 899250 again. He also declined again. I then thought to myself "What the hell, 750 extra gp is nothing" I traded a third time with 900k as my offer. When I accepted, I received 3597 willow longs (U). The reason I was so effectively scammed was that seeing the yew longs (U) in the first 2 trades lured me into a false sense of security, and I foolishly thought that the 3rd trade would be no different. In the end, I sold the willow longs back for 30 gp ea. In retrospect, I really see that I made a great deal of progress in my RS career. After being scammed the first time, I was extremely upset with the scammer and myself. It would take me 3 hours to earn back 20k. Yet, 2 years later, I managed to brush off the 2nd scam as if it were nothing. I made back the 800k I lost in half an hour merchanting.
  6. I'll be cutting/burning mahogany at the Kharazi Jungle in W99 from now on.
  7. No, I don't think there would be dexterity autoers. The majority of autoers exist to collect resources to sell for RL money. Dexterity does not involve collecting resources. It's the same reason why no one bothers autoing to 99 agility.
  8. Dexterity -The higher your dexterity, the FASTER you actually run or walk -Lower time stunned from holding spells and from pickpocketing -Increases weapon/spellcasting speed (each level is .33%, lvl 99 dexterity would increase speed by about 33%). Dexterity would be trained by performing everyday events that involve use of the hands or movement of the body, like walking, running, wc, combat, etc.
  9. 99 FM, WC, and Fletching. If I finish early, I'll start doing either fishing or hunter to 99.
  10. 99 Thieving: I have always enjoy training this skill more than any other. 92 Fletching: Easy skill to train (before String X). 85 Ranged: Back when I couldn't be P2P, there wasn't much I wanted to do except range Ice Giants from 50-85. 83 Cooking: What can I say? Food is an essential part of this game. 83 Woodcutting: Planning on getting 99 fm and Wc.
  11. I have not trained mining and smithing in ages. Smithing has become obselete IMO, and I don't have time for mining anymore.
  12. You can also get multiple lvl 1 clues thieving HAM members.
  13. If you manage to get even 1 dragon skirt, then you will recoup all of your expenses.
  14. The right and left halves are both tradable, as is the whole shield itself. Also, shield right half costs 750k
  15. If you revert back to f2p, do not take member items out of your bank. You will not be able to put them back, so you will either have to drop them or let them stay in your inventory
  16. Dragon Battleaxe Special does not increase the str by 20%. Rather it is about 24%. How? Well, when i used the spec at originally 70 str, it increased my str to 87. If the Spec increased str by 20%, my str lvl would be 84.
  17. You can fletch and merchant at the same time, which will generate a substantial amount of money.
  18. I looked up Tzhaar-Ket in the Bestiary and uncut onyx is listed as one of the drops. Can anyone confirm this? Please post if you have personally obtained one from a Tzhaar-Ket. Also, I would like to know who is credited with listing the onyx as a drop in the bestiary. On the other hand, if you do not believe that the Ket drops the gem, please state how many you have killed in order to reach that conclusion.
