  1. Well, I think any other people have a hard time discussing anything at all, unless they know the language in use on the forum in question.
  2. ^ :P Thing is, I just don't know what I would do with PHP to learn, I don't have any website I'm wanting to build or anything. But I can't just jump into the includes folder of phpBB and mess around, I'm probably going to break something.

What is it lately with all these multi-year bumps in OT? Seriously?
  4. Now here's the only reason the boards being private would be an advantage; The rules could remain the same, and remain equally simple. From what I grasp, DA was private for just the same reason. This would not have to be a hidden forum, but a private forum would, I think, make so it could have different rules allowing other languages.
  5. Banned for using too many smileys.

Who needs jeans, or pants in general? Let it show, I say.
  7. Haha, I like the map, that's like where the borders were during the Porkkala parenthesis. Someone needs a history and geography lesson. Good catch. Edit: Err, I mean before the parenthesis.
  8. Indeed it can. :P I need moar good tutorials though. 11,676
  9. Well said. To put it in a vulgar way, that image has been jpeg-raped.
  10. No Finnish schools that I know of have been threatened. Last year one 3 km from me was threatened. The stupid n00b thought he could hide by posting messages about how he was going to kill everyone (Or whatever) under a proxy, I think it was. He didn't even get the name of the school right, but it was close enough that he got a hit. Kind of like "Destroyer".

Here's something you might find interesting: Where I live, basic study techniques are a required part of your education when you start to really need it (7th grade). Basically: [*:1n5a0i5i]Different people remember things better in different ways, there are a few basic categories: [*:1n5a0i5i]Visual learners. [*:1n5a0i5i]People that learn better by listening. (Audio learners?) [*:1n5a0i5i]Physical learners; People that learn better while in motion or by doing something. [*:1n5a0i5i]People that are better learning things through more mental memory techniques. [*:1n5a0i5i]Try different things involving the previously mentioned categories, find out to which group you belong. [*:1n5a0i5i]The circumstances/environment under which you are studying has a very large effect on how much you learn; Lighting, sound, any action going on in the room, the time you study, even the room temperature can affect your concentration. [*:1n5a0i5i]When you write notes, write them as simply as you can, in a bullet point format that is easy to scan/read quickly. Avoid unimportant details like the plague.[*:1n5a0i5i]Studying for hours on end is not a good idea. A break to do something else for a little bit in between is absolutely necessary. This is because after each time you study, you forget about 80 %. This means that each time you gain roughly +20 % at the most again depending again on the conditions, it's unlikely you'll be able to break that in one session. Hope that helped. :P

^ Not really. < Knows Swedish (German-based includes Swedish/English/German/Danish/Norwegian/Dutch/Afrikaans/Etc.) \/ Knows that I'm becoming addicted to this game. :o
  13. Sheep, off topic question, but did Soa make your signature? I think I see his style in that.
  14. I hate JavaScript. Or rather, JavaScript hates me. I'll get around to learning it sometime. :P PHP is logical as anything, the concept is extremely easy, but the syntax is really annoying to learn. Strangely enough, Java seems just the opposite to me.
  15. That was one huge bump... Oh well, it added to the topic so I suppose it's ok. Chocolate/caramel chip cookies, made with a certain recipe.
