  1. Ignore them.. Who cares if they want to sit with the popular kids. If you don't want to that's fine, but don't get mad when they want to. If you even want a chance with a popular girl, being in the chess club will kill your chances. High school has a popularity ladder as you've mentioned, so there is a girl out there that's willing to date you. She will be harder to find than if you were on the basketball team. And those two reasons you mentioned for why people date in high school.. That may be true for some but not for most. You don't seem like the most social of people so before you decide why people do something, you should be around a lot of people that are dating. Sex and popularity aren't the main reasons for why my closest friends date. An easy 50 points.. And you're complaining?! So maybe you're looking to learn a lot in school, not everyone would be able to keep up. Also, it's nice to do something fun in class once in a while.. You, stop criticizing everyone else. It makes you look like more of a*hole than I thought you were. Reading over this post it seems you're one of the nerdy kids who gets picked on and can't get a date. Guess what? THAT'S HIGH SCHOOL! You chose that path now live with it. You can try to change but it's hard (trust me on that). You only look at the negative side of school. What about the time you get to spend with your friends? Hanging out before/after class and during lunch. Passing notes in class and bugging the hell out of teachers.. Making new friends with new classes and surrounding yourself with people you enjoy being around.. Or are you one of the kids who keeps to himself and when presented with a group project asks to work alone? Who sits alone at lunch and actually spends study hall doing homework? Also.. Would you happen to be a freshman? For me school rocks. I'm a sophomore so upperclassmen can't pick on me for that anymore, and that was all they had on me. Maybe change your attitude about school (and make some more friends) and you'll have a better time. So quit b* about how high school works. It's been like it is for a long time and you're not going to change it. Enjoy it while you're there.. Thank you...so much.
  2. You didn't even read it did you? I do ignore them, but more can be done. Why not try to change them? That is like saying 'if you have a problem with Bush or America, you can just leave!'. No, you don't leave, you fight, and that is what i'm doing. I'm fighting against the system of social conformity and hoping others will join my cause. I think people would be a lot happier. Listen to what I have to say. I can't believe I'm responding to your arrogance, but I'm going to anyway. 1. I did read EVERY SINGLE THING you wrote. 2. I am what you might call a "goth" or "emo". Sure, I don't believe in labels, but that's what everybody believes. 3. What everybody believes, however, is CRAP. The thing to do is IGNORE them, not say, "Oh, everything they say is right, and all I can do is mope around and complain to everyone." If you're mad at people, then stand up for yourself. 4. School is one of the most important things in the world. Don't hate it for such a juvenile reason. See? I bolded the important things so even you can understand! 1. I posted this at 9:34 pm. You responded at 9:36 pm. There are 565 words in my little essay thing. That means you would have had to have been reading at 4.7 words per second, not including the time it took to post your responce. hmmmm... 2. you contradict yourself in the same point. you claim to be a 'goth' and 'emo', yet next you say you don't believe in labels. hmmmmm.... 3. I don't understand this point. 4. A juvenile reason for hating school would be something like 'its too hard', or 'I don't like working'. I thought my ideals for not liking school were rather unorthodox... Also, yes school is important, I'm not proposing like abolishing it, I'm saying people need to learn to just be themselves. He's good. First of all, I would like to state that I'm Homeschooled and have been since grade 4. I still know very much what it is like to be in a school situation, so don't get me wrong. I have to deal with immense workloads, and actually have to do a project instead of making a mole about mols. Seriously, i just learned about mols. Anyway, I agree with your point that people need to reject the social niches, but most of what you said is coming straight from your side of the picture. You haven't balanced anything at all, and i've known goths and emos... etc... that are very nice people and only dress that way because they feel like it. I wear glasses. I play chess. Do i fit into a social niche? NO. Now, i simply cannot understand how you justify this. School sucks... Really? I have to deal with large workloads, and i don't complete some things before deadlines. Most of the time i don't even have the time to get on here and reply to posts like this. Okay... Really, i do not think school sucks. You have the right to state your opinion on things, but you do NOT have the right to judge people on something as simple as clothing choices or whether they eat with their trays on their laps. I'm not saying that we all don't do it, I'm just saying not to voice it outloud. I respect your post, and personally, any teacher that cannot come up with a decent lesson plan should not be teaching. Next time, come up with more supporting points to your ideas before posting them. ~Elphinstone Thank you. That almost sums up what I was trying to say. I called myself "goth" and "emo" because that's what a typical stereotyper would call me. I hate this title, and I don't believe in labels, but most consider me that. What you have to do is ignore them. If you just mope around saying, "Oh, my life will never get better, and all I can do is complain how miserable I am because of them," then they've won. What you have to do is ignore them, and if they insult you about it, insult them back. "An eye for an eye" is a good thing to do in this situation. One more thing. Who complains about school for such a juvenile reason? It's school, for God's sake! Without it, you couldn't write this post, and you'd be sitting in your kitchen trying to figure out "where the pointy thing opens my Spaghetti O's." Grow up.
  3. To dwarfdude: You really astound me. I want to rebuttle, but I have to go to bed. I have to be somewhere in the morning. But, I assure you that I will get back to you on this. You aren't even close to understanding what I'm trying to say...maybe you need school more than I thought.

  17. It does kind of have that "slopped together" feel to it, but it was pretty good. It was witty and kind of humorous. I'd say edit it a little.
