Do you want an Archen egg?
  3. Attitudes on both sides? No way. All the Admins did was take out their banhammer and pwn some noobs. It seems to me that they had a problem with what the other side was saying, and didn't really try to figure out a way to get past it. It's not that simple.
  4. Because its better then getting banned on a whim because say a mod doesnt like you. This offers at least some protection True, though having seen the popularity contest thing happen elsewhere, I'm a bit skeptical of it. Each community's a bit different, though, for some it might be more authoritarian, for others it might be more libertarian, but ultimately the system that they end up using here should be the one that most benefits Tip.It's community. If I knew a specific system that would work, I'd have posted that  Common sense rules should be the way to go; If you're a flaming, trolling douchebag that has never contributed to any thread, you probably deserve the banhammer.
  5. What's to stop people from keeping their friends in though? Or keeping their enemies out? The last thing we need is to turn bans into a popularity contest.

Probably a way to encourage play with real world friends. I could trade now, if you're ready.

Don't know, don't think I have one yet, and need to solve computer problems before anything else.
  9. Still on day 3

If you already picked, yeah. The turtle isn't bad, it's just that Archeops is ridiculously strong. Could breed you one if you need it.
  11. Bump, I suppose.

[spoiler=Posty] This is the image that currently adorns the inside of my binder. I drew it during class over the course of the last year. The barn owl has nothing to do with the one Lynx drew, and the text is because, well, I put schoolwork in there. I wish I saved all of my other drawings.
  13. Indeed. This is going fairly well. If this thread happened hours ago, we could've solved this before it really started.

The difference is that the original Tavernites did it in a game, as part of a game, and I'm guessing you all knew that. The trolling that ensued today was over the game and involved actual hard feelings. It's like, playing as an [wagon] doesn't mean you are an [wagon] out of the game.
  15. Any longterm effects of this whole schism will take a while to show up. I don't see the other board growing much unless they do a good job of advertising only to the kinds of posters that they want there, while Tip.It will grow, but we sure as hell won't get any better. It'll be hard to replace a lot of those guys, especially when most of them were the ones that more or less ran the help section.
  16. I'm actually not a general discussion regular, though, so the only part I've seen in this was from general discussion's regulars (A number of whom I did consider friends regardless). This drew in a lot of people that didn't know what actually caused this overreaction, but it's what they saw. I don't give two [cabbage]s about the efficiency debate, but given the circumstances it's hard not to side with the mods at least a little.
  17. To be fair, so did the people protesting against them. Nobody came out of this looking pretty. Regardless of how badly the mods may have been, there really wasn't any excuse for what some people did to protest them, and I say this as a person who before today probably would have agreed with most of what was being said.
  18. The only "important" protesters are doing it legitimately, the others who's opinions no one cares about aren't so civil about it. They're the ones that everyone sees, and they're the ones everyone will think about when this [cabbage]storm passes.

It's unfortunate that the only forum where that would probably work is this one. FT is very tight-knit.

The thing is that before this whole mess there were a number of people calling for harsher moderation because of the amount of trolls in GD. I'd assume some of them are rioting now, all because they banned a friend instead of one of the trolls that they really wanted gone. I can say I'm friends with a few of the ones that are leaving, but it's hard to say "The mods [bleep]ed up big time" when the ones that are still here are the reason the board's such a mess today.
  21. Some of them might be legitimately protesting. What I've been seeing is not legitimate protesting.

Do you have any of that RAEEEG popcorn left?
  23. Alg replied to PoorLepRecon's topic in Off-Topic
Golurk can apparently fly too. So you don't need a flying type as much as a humungous mecha.
  24. You know, now that all of those guys are spamming the [cabbage] out of GD, I have to say grow the [bleep] up. You're not sticking it to 'the man', you're throwing a tantrum.
  25. Alg replied to PoorLepRecon's topic in Off-Topic
The only other easily available flying types are Mandibuzz/Braviary, (S)Woobat, Swanna, Archeops, and Sigilyph. Of those, the last two are probably the best. Would think my one problem with this gen is the lack of easily available types. Pretty much everything you find early on is weak to flying, there are way too many bug, grass, and fighting types, and barely any worthwhile water, fire, and electric types, and most of the really unique Mons of any type aren't available until the postgame.
