THIS IS JUST TOO INTESNE!

Out of curiosity, how do the talents work? Is there a list to choose from or do we just make up things that would fit?

Someone did make a good point about how the captain's role is about doing what's best rather than what makes the crew happy, though. Why not have more than one person running the thing? You'd avoid having the problems of whatever individual and instead have the problems associated with a democracy-type thing.

Nothing against walkthroughs, personally. If a puzzle is really hard, it's better to use that than to pull your hair out for an hour. The next one might be easier or more fun. Say, in the Water Temple of any given Zelda game. You could get lost and confused, or you could proceed to solve it and have fun in the next dungeon.

I DON'T KNOW. DO WE WANT TO PISS OFF THE MODS?

Might not be many water types but there are a lot of decent to good grass types available early on. Those are good for both Clay and all the hikers that use Boldore/All the guys that use Sandile. I believe that as long as you don't delete the wonder card, you can pick it up again on a new save game. Not 100% on that though. I could download it again when I restarted, and I don't think I saw the delivery man until I downloaded it again. Bulbapedia has this to say though, "Games without a save file can only hold at most three Wonder Cards. ", so maybe they do.

I was hoping to do the same, but with people instead of ships. On that thought, murdering people if they screw themselves up sort of eliminates the point, so maybe not exactly the same... Thinking of an idea for a curio. Cybernetically enhanced human? Perhaps with robotic limbs/brain implants of some kind? Leading to a slow conversion to a fully artificial being? Bonus could be a small number of talent ranks to spend on anything. As it is there are too many researchers.

Was just thinking that Heroic Sociopath could apply to most, if not all of the crew.

A character sheet would have been more useful.

- What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Yeah. The main ones I've seen are about items not appearing, namely the ancient elven boots and that one black set of light armor in Awakening, and Vigilance having the wrong model if you have Soldier's Peak on. The rest aren't big.- Space
Name: "Mask" Class: Researcher: You have 20 Tech Points to spend as you see fit. Speciality: None Talents: 2 Psychology 2 surgical medicine 1 rifles 1 ship piloting 1 swords and swordlike weapons 1 Psionic barriers [spoiler=Questionnaire] 1) Your captain makes a comment 'Isha are dirty swine.', and looks at you, what do you do? Ask him why. 2) You have been drinking, and you are called to the transporter for an emergency away mission, what do you do? Tell the Captain I've been drinking and volunteer someone sober. 3) A Terran Imperator's private shuttle hails you and requests docking clearance, what do you do? Let him dock if everything checks out. More than that isn't my place. 4) There is a glass of 1 litre in volume. The glass contains 35.502 militers of water, 43.24 militers of vodka, 9.42 militers of orange juice, a stick of Thorium with volume of 40 cubic centimeters and an average density of 11.7, two ice cubes of normal density and total volume of 30 Cubic Centimeters, a minature umbrella, made of wood, with normal density and 0.2 Cubic Centimeters in volume, and five berries, with average density of 0.2 and volume of 8 Cubic Centimeters. How would you describe the glass? "That wooden glass with the umbrella in it" or "Overcomplicated" 5) If you have 2 beans, and you add 2 more beans, what do you have? One step closer to bean dip. 6) You are a doctor. There are six people in a room, not including yourself. All are middle aged, and other than their noted issue, are in good health. The first is entirely healthy. The second needs a new heart in 5 hours, the second needs a new pair lung in 3 hours, the third will die in 5 days regardless of what you do, but his lungs and kidneys will be unusable, the forth has a cold, the fifth is overweight and your nurse. What do you do? 1-Why's the healthy guy here? 2-Take the heart from the third guy. 3- Use artificial lung system until a suitable transplant is found 4- Euthanize to minimize suffering after making sure that everything is taken care of 5- Give him cold medicine 6-Tell her to help out with the above five, or whetever it that suits her condition Did you know that you numbered it wrong? There are six people listed. not five. 7) You have some downtime, what leisure activity do you partake in? Read a book or doodle something in a journal. 8) You are the pilot on a transport vessel which has been hit by an asteroid. The Captain has shot the sensor officer for not warning you about it, but the truth is you just messed up, and you suspect the Captain knows, but also knows you are the only person capable of flying the vessel, so cannot shoot you. The vessel is on course for another vessel, but the other vessel is filled with the hated Andians, and if you crashed into the vessel, by accident, then everyone would die, and be cloned back at base with no memory of the incident. However the Andian vessel is a medical ship. What do you do? Crash elsewhere. If nowhere to crash, I'll need to know how this cloning system works to best abuse the loophole in it. 9) If Admiral Dusty fought God, who would win? I'll sell the tickets to it. 10) Your captain seems to be deranged, what do you do? Give him medication and look over the psych evaluations for a suitable replacement. Merits: 700- /obt/
Oh God why can't I stop laughing!?!- Cheating
That's the difference between Runescape and any other game though. In Runescape, the bulk of the game is the grind, while in other games there's actual entertainment value. Botting or buying coins in 'Scape bypasses the boring grindy bits, and that's why people tend to look at it better than, say, making yourself unbeatable in a Madden game, or using an auto aim for Team Fortress 2. You're not hurting anyone unless your superior bot reflexes are better at getting whatever spawn it is you're camping, while in any other game, you're ruining the fun for pretty much everyone else/The other team. You get the same effect out of playing against someone with a significant gap in skill between you. Botting's more like the Rock Band example, you unlock all the songs so that you don't have to play through the ones you hate several times each.- Cheating
The cheating itself is real behavior though. If I kill someone in a game, that's part of the story that the game's staff wanted told, which tends to happen frequently because of how 80% of today's popular games involve the military (The remaining 20% is divided evenly between space marines, gangsters, and mercenaries). If a player cheats, that's their way of getting past some part of the gameplay, whether it's the realism or the balance. The problem with cheating in a multiplayer game is that it takes the fun out of it for other players. Ever play a shooter game where there's one guy that's invincible and dropping everyone with a few bullets apiece in ways that shouldn't be possible? There's no point in playing a game like that, and it stops being fun after the guy headshots you through a wall with a grenade launcher. Likewise, it's not fun to play a game like Runescape when the goal you're working on is accomplished in a day by a guy who turns on his bot and goes to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy, moreso if you have to compete for supplies against him with your inferior human reflexes and attention span.- Cheating
Would be two different styles of play. Someone who hacks himself a team could use it for ingame play, say, against the battle tower/frontier/subway/etc. A simulator is only good for metagame play against other people, with rules other than Nintendo's house rules. Better example would be Runescape versus 'Scape private server, and even then there are different reasons to max in 'Scape, with the mass-multiplayer environment and all that. Could bot to 99 cooking, I get a pretty cape to show. Botting there is the means to get that, while the team I could hack in Pokemon will be used to actually play the game. Actually, the botting example does work for combat skills...- Gamecube General
Currently playing through Metroid Prime 2. Was doing 1 but want to learn how to sequence break to the power bombs early.- Cheating
That's why simulators like Pokemon Online exist. Everyone is on an even playing field. It's hardly as fair ingame, the people that have a lot of time and luck to invest in breeding/EVs/TMs are going to crush the people that don't, as are the people that have the money to buy the next game with all of its upgrades (Bugfixes, move tutors; remember Bullet Punch Scizor?), and the people that can make it to events (Just bought Platinum and want Darkrai/Shaymin/Rotom-A? SUCKS FOR YOU! Also see: Every Japan-exclusive event). I'll freely admit to hacking to get a full Pokedex in Pearl, because they didn't release most of the events until Platinum, I have nobody to trade with and had nobody to trade with in the Advance generation, and the GTS is a cesspool. Hell, I'm cheating on HG because I want to run through the story in a way that would otherwise not be possible (All dragon egg group and only those, most of which aren't available until the endgame). Though if you're talking about the guys that are hacking Wondertombs, legendaries with 255 EVs in everything, blatantly illegal movesets, then yeah, I have to agree. There are a good number of guys that just hack their otherwise completely legitimate and fair teams to save time, the same way they would have if they just stuck to a simulator.- /obt/
Around April Fools, a couple of people decided to get My Little Pony avatars, and I'm guessing it caught on.- Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Completely wrong. It's a complicated contest to see who can screw up the country worse than it is. Sounds about right.- Pokemon Thread
There used to be an adapter you could buy. Don't think any stores have stocked them in years but there might be a few floating around the internet.- The Cursed Planet

The game is compatible with WPA, but the DS and DS lite aren't. If you want to use WPA you'll need a DSi or 3DS.- The Cursed Planet
Oh right, I actually have to make stuff... [spoiler=Character Stuff] Name: Marcus Curse: Ability to mimic others' curses. Story: Marcus was a soldier who defected as the events following the fall of the object began to unfold. His first priority was to find his family and help them escape the chaos. He learned that they fled, and while he looked for them, he saw firsthand how the curses manifest, and the massacres of those who were open with their new powers. He learned about his own curse of mimicry, and was able to avoid being hunted simply by staying away from those who were also cursed. Now, finding them is less a priority than finding out what happened and why.- /obt/
