  1. Detective Noir  Wonder if I could trade it for the medic's plague doctor mask...
  2. For [bleep]'s sake, can we have ONE political thread that doesn't devolve into liberal v. conservative finger pointing? This isn't debate, this is the kind of "I'm right and you're stupid" [cabbage] that makes it impossible for people to take you seriously.
  3. Gentlemen. I am here before you today in order to claim my position as having been within the confines of this blog chronologically ahead of a forum moderator's preventative actions. Or, inb4lock
  4. you're NSFW :/ True. These posts have been highly censored.
  5. Banned because I died under it, and I hold a grudge.
  6. A bow. WITHOUT ARROWS.
  7. Just talkin' bout the penal system. THE ONE WITH JAILS, PERVERT
  8. But most of it is NSFW
  9. Three Potter books down, four to go. Did that in like two days or so. I did start HP1 on the fifth, but I got a hundred pages into it and didn't pick it up again until two or three hours before that lunar eclipse.
  10. This is the character I'll be using. [spoiler=New character] Name Leanne Background Younger sister of Jack, and the youngest of three siblings. To actually create a background/retcon one, the three siblings worked to support one another and as a result became pretty close. Jack had mercenary work, which ultimately resulted in his death. Early on she became a thief to supplement legitimate work, then became a full-time burglar, and finally started to become a robin hood-esque rogue who spends most of her days relaxing. She and Jack communicated through letters, and when they stopped she decided to find out why. Appearance Small, light build. Shortish brown hair. Always seems to be looking around at her surroundings, but doesn't fidget unless necessary. Alignment/Personality Neutral Loyal but manipulative, a thief but ultimately not 'evil'. Dislikes fighting, and prefers to avoid combat. She doesn't stand out in any way and prefers to avoid being the center of any attention. Chaotic Good, almost leaning towards stupid good. Very much an idealist, and would do almost anything to help others. Dislikes combat but will fight if necessary, though will not hesitate to strike first if she doesn't see any other option. -Strength 2 -Skill: 10 -Toughness 2 -Charisma: 6 -Willpower 5 Inventory (Leave empty, will be used later) This is so that I won't have to start entirely from scratch in the event of another character death. [spoiler=Reserve character] Name Ryan Background Same background. Oldest of the three, supported the family through magic, and eventually stopped working to devote all of his time to studying. This ended up distancing him from his siblings. Appearance Looks like an older version of Jack, with a well-groomed goatee (of evil). Impeccably clean, often obsesses over his appearance. Alignment/Personality Neutral Evil. Not petty, but studies the darker end of magic and doesn't let anything get in his way. Believes that the ends justify the means. Otherwise, quite pleasant. Generally, would be appalled by a senseless murder but would see nothing wrong with destroying/enslaving a village for what he sees as the greater good, and is bound to be the one who eventually takes his ideals too far. Interested in what would be dark magic, not for the sake of power but for the sake of knowledge. His ultimate goal is to find a way to cheat death. Traits -Strength 4 -Skill 3 -Toughness 6 -Charisma 2 -Willpower 10 Inventory (Leave empty, will be used later) I'll edit in the stats later. It's 3.5 total, right?
  11. If anyone needs me, I'll be starting a new religion. Obtuarianism. I won't actually follow it as much as use it to gain money, of course. Who's with me??
  12. >>implying obt is an actual person, not just an idea. >> Implying that Obt is an idea, rather than a symbol
  13. It does make sense to decide how to handle higher levels before anyone gets them though.
  14. The next Hegemony? Research trees seem to be popular in RTSes and I think you guys were planning one of those...
  15. Probably works better for backburner pyros. I know I'm not going to melee the enemy for crits if I can ambush instead. Got one from a crate, might as well use it. Bit surprised how easy to craft the JAG is as well.
  16. Might be good if the medics are all occupied and you don't plan to melee.
  17. Perhaps have the skill itself evolve rather than branch. Say, level 5 swords becomes level 5 offense or defense and has a slightly better success rate for actions that go along with that style (The difference between counterattacking and rushing) and no change for the opposite level. Or the skill develops as it's used: attacking with a fireball could give +.3 fire experience and .1 offense, where level 1 offense changes the skill to offensive fire, and a higher rating in offense or defense makes the rolls better/worse? L5 offense could end up having a higher fail rate for a support application simply because the character is so good at nuking things from orbit instead. Of course, that'd probably be even harder to track.
  18. Soul as: Calming, purifying, etc. as a "good" option. Or Manipulation, torture, etc. as an "evil" option. :?: The gray options would come in from evil uses of the good powers and good uses of the evil powers. Gray and grey morality is all well and good, though not all grays are the same, right? It's also the player's choice as to where on the spectrum they personally land. Soul magic could have the most vile applications in the game but that doesn't mean the player has to use them.
  19. I don't know about you, but I've been completely turned off the debates by the "active posters". Thinking you're confusing seriousness with maturity.
  20. I never said the truth would be badass  Though to be fair, I did do pretty well until that whole stab wound thing.
  21. Ohsh- This [cabbage] just got real.
  22. Farming eh? First cutting wood Then crafting it into bows Then burning it Now planting it again? You are a naturalist or something, my friend.
