Removing the MSN address option.
Being gone all weekend, I didn't have a chance to reply to some early things, this quote fits nicely though. You stated earlier "I have evidence that i cant share for confidentiality reasons that the button does pose a real danger.". This is like me saying I work at a data center that hosts Jagex servers. Working there gives me physical access to the server and nothing would stop me from touching the box. I could go around saying I have physical access to Jagex source code and you have absolutely zero way of confirming that. Your stating you have confidential info and the percentages of tip.it users that would fall for this is nothing more than empty 'facts' trying to sway opinions. If you have said information, cough it up and prove your point with hard information thats provable, not "I have this but can't show you" information. Sorry not pushing this point too far, but just to hilight that I have evidance, and NOT proof, they are two very differnt things, evidance is jutst a whole load of things pointing in the direction of. If you are a Pmod or Fmod and have been anywhere where your status is public, yes you have. If you believe you haven't, you don't have any serious grasp on how the evil RS underground works. Even if you are a normal player, you most likely have had attempts by random people that see you in game thinking they can score on a weak password. What I was meaning is i've not had any serious attack that I have noticed..... no body ad tried to scam me out of my password. Out of intrest what is your opinion on the personal infomation rule in the actuall game? do you recognise it's importance there?

Removing the MSN address option.
I'm sure that many people would disagree with you there. I also am sure of this.... infact i would go as far to say that eveybody who used the button would, and a few who dont. You can split the peopel who use it into two sections: -People who have great web security who know the risks and would not fall for a scam. -People have no idea of the risk involved and probaly would fall for the scam. Now both of these groups by definittion would belive that the buttons benifits is better than negatives, although one group does not know of the existance of the negatives. I would also gradly agree that on tip.it atleast the first group is a larger one..... however the second group is a large enough percentage to warrent some form of change. This change does not need to be it's removal, it could also be in how people are warned of the danger as they enter the data, or even possibly stopping newer users from using it, untill they have been with us for a short period of time. Infact the second one would also cut down on people being able to use the button for the means of RWT which is not uncommon on a fan site, out of the way of Jagex..... it would actually even put them off using the site.

New way to pay
I belibe that are number 83 (shared wealth) in england no where near top 20 in the world...... that are more billion airs that that! On topic though.....No! this is a game, it needs constant maintance and costs money to keep online. At one point in the future sadly this game wont exist anymore.... simple as. Then you will have alot of people out of pocket. It just has too many complications.

Easy way that could stop Green Dragon Autoers
Also and more imporantly... if you post a suggestion in public view about how to stop autoers it becomes very hard for Jagex to use them, the people who make autoers are know to watch forums for areas in which their methods need improving, having posted it in public view the autoers can be one step ahead of Jagex. If you wish to make a suggestion to Jagex on how to stop autoers they ask that you send it in a query via the "comment on our service" link on http://www.runescape.com Remember.... it it's in public view they cant use it (as well)

Removing the MSN address option.
To be honest with you I feel it would be more hypocrtical if I was asking for the removal of a button I DID use..... I have no intention of ever using it for the very reasosn i was asking for it's removal. And i would deffinatly not say I was beeing over protective, on the offical forums for example I try and push for more freedoms (so it Jagex, but it's hard on a comminity of that size). I would never call for the removal of a button that causes "some danger" but only if I feel it offers more danger that it brings good.

Removing the MSN address option.
Bacause i have seen the damage hijacked accounts can do to the community, I am very kean on all forms of account protecteion, so where there is a feature I feel is posing a risk I wish to look at ways to reduce that. Your right I am not at risk.... but it doesnt mean I dont care about other people. At the end of the day this is a community game, if players dont make any attempt to help the community they are not truely playing the game.

Removing the MSN address option.
I dont see why it would need to be disabled.... it would only apper when you enter the infomation..... and how often would people enter infomation in those boxes (if they use them)? I would imagin.... only once.

Removing the MSN address option.
Ok, I recognise I am fighting a losing battle. Whilst I will still always remain my view point it's fair that I stop pushing it with such intent. So rather than asking for the removal of the button, I belive at the very least it should be looked at how the warning about using this feature is delivered. At a guess people with the lack of web safty to fall for some of the email scams are not going to be visiting the Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings!'s forum..... I also feel the current level of warning whilst you fill it out is, to say the least underwhelming. I doubt even though it's only two lines, that most people read it. So I ask: Is there a better way this infomation can be displayed to ensure that people are aware of the risk? One solution I have just considered (right now, so dont blame my it's not fully though out), is if after infomation is entered in one of the contact fields a pop up warning appears giving a brief few words on the danger, with a link to a fuller section on account safty. I dont know how much control you guys have over this forum system as it is not inhouse technology, but if it's possible i am sure people would agree it's sensible.

Tip.It Times Presents: Buying and Selling
I think personal attacks are a bit uncalled for.... Misplaced is doing a good job from where I am standing. I belive the changes to tip.it times was a result of real world commitments form the editor.... you must remember he is a real person and if his commitments here are causing difficulties in real life tip.it should always come second. Harsh fact of life. The artical posted yesterday (a bit close together for my liking) was much more of a normal tip.it artical.

Removing the MSN address option.
I have never had an attack on my account (please can nobody try to change this :P) The demographic user base for runescape is 13-17 year old males. Most of that group tends to be American, which data shows are sadly more prone to falling for such things due to social valibles. You must also remember that with the graphics style, how and where it's advertised, and the cost of membership (and the fact it can be ftp) the game also appeals to people newer to the MMORPG and online world, so as such a runescape player is more prone to falling for a scam than say a Warcraft, or everquest player. And remember alot of people who have been hacked..... dont post about it as the vast magority of the time the community flames the victim for it. It is usually only the newer Tip.iters who post on the subject.

Axe head random not gone?! =]]]
Removed for a few reasons. The studied it's effect..... autoers are programed to recognise the missing rune head and pick it up again, if they are useing bronze axes they just switch axe 9they usually carry a few). so to be honest it was not actually preventing all that much.... In balance on real players the risk was far greater! especially with the arival of the dragon axe where not conentrating could lose millions of GP. The random was much worse for real players than randoms.

Axe head random not gone?! =]]]

Bigger Sigs/ Avatars?
The only thing some peopel seem to have an issue with is the image size (data wise). It is worth reminding peopel that if you can "save for web" you nock about 2/3rds of the file size off. Using that feature means you can have alot more (withing the pixel limit). I will say it again though, size wise I think we are fine now, Avatars could possibly increase by another 5px in both dimensions but anymore than that may cause problems.

Tip.It Times Presents: Buying and Selling
Was there any reason why articals where put up two days running? I nealy missed the other one  . Not a bad artical though, I would have though it could have done with a summing up passage though as it did not actually end up making a point. I agree with Kiara You may lose alot of trafic by keeping it here.... although..... it's great if you are trying to push traffic in this forum more! Might do the trick.

heres a suggestion for you.....AMOUR STATS CALCULATOR!!
If your meaning as a feature for tip it you need to go Here. But dont suggest this one as i have just notuced it's in the do not suggest sticky ma-jig! If you are meaning for runescape I would have to ask why? all stats are already listed in the Knowledge base, I would not recomend anybody to buy somthing major without spending a few moments looking it up first.

Tip.it's Stance on Luring (with Jagex's official stance)
Incase your intrested, the post from jagex, even though posted by Mod Emilee was written by Andrew..... not a very important point though!
