First off, if you really did search you would have seen that a million topics exist about which program is "the best." I just did a search myself. Secondly, making a good sig is done with skill not by having a good program. You cannot go into graphics with the intentions of making a great sig right off the bat. Use what Chris gave you cause he's obviously nicer than I am.

Considering most of the 3d renders not planned out and people just hit some buttons and then work from there. But then what about the post work? The brushing in PS? What about someone who does Photo Manipulation? That is no different. Honestly, I'm going to make a horrible comparison, but if someone takes a flower port and paints it many could/would call it art. The 3d render = flower pot. There's no point in arguing this. I could try and argue that Rap isn't music and millions would disagree with me. And they're probably right.
