Fair enough. Is this going to be online? I'm pretty sure you'll need more then just vb for that part of it. Also, for your idea so far. I don't know how unique it is because you haven't given us much info but if you have a similar game in mind, still try and stray away from it as far as possible. If you want to catch animals like pokemon, then have the setting completely different from pokemon. Have it be medieval where yo uhave to cage the animals and such. Originality is what makes a good game.

Never! Now we can all laugh at that pitiful painting I quoted. :P -
This is in no way what you want but it's cool, you can draw on here until your ink runs out and it records it and other people can watch. http://www.imaginationatwork.com/Imagine?_nolivecache

That's what's brilliant about it. You get real artists participating.

Hehe...you seem so desperate Keiphus. Looks good though. -
Get. Out. Of. My. Head. Seriously though, I was thinking about coordinating with somebody (anyone who is willing) a "teaching study" type thing. Maybe where we have like a daily sketch, stuff like that, and teach these guys how to do some real art. I mean, yeah, I like to flame people. But deep down, I also like to help people, and I'm pretty good at it (all of you older people know this) So I think it would be cool to start up like a series of brushing lessons, etc... I'm sure when people see the alternatives to pixel, they will start to pursue different paths. I tried posting some vector work the other day... It failed miserably. I'd like to think it was good, but it just wasn't what the "pixi" boys wanted to see. :( I'd love to learn vector. It requires more drawing ability and I think it could have the same effect as pixel. Yeah, I'm puttin git ou there. I think vector could replace pixel because it could give the same effect. YOu can have the exact scene you want including your guy customized like you want. Yeah that's my idea so don't take credit for it :P Not to mention, when I posted my sig/ava combo animation. Sure people gave some praise but it didnt' nearly have the effect I had hoped..

1. Has the quality declined? Extremely. When I arrived awesome artists liek Witty were dominating the boards. There was a lot more indy art also. There were contests like Twiceborn's where pretty much everyone participated and it really pushed the limits. 2. Is the pixel trend positive? Mainly yes. It's getting everyone involved in the media community and giving them a chance to try. The main problem is that a lot of people think that if they spend 10 minutes on it, they can still sell it for a lot. 3. What keeps people coming back? I don't know...I shouldn't be coming here so much :P 4. How many rate my whatever posts are too many? 1. Posts should be the finished product and you should like it enough to either sell it or use it yourself. 5 What kind of posts do you REALLY ENJOY. Unique posts. Posts that contain art with expression. 6. For those who have left , cut back activity or are considering it, why? I'm considering it because this is not helping me much at all. There's not motivation here. Not to mention I'm sick of seeing these "15 minute, 2nd pixi evar" posts.

Yeah, he did a great job of trying to cover it up. Might as well have just made the whole thing himself...

You little pervert you...It's a good suggestion though, thanks. I'll move it some.

(no clue how to spell it) Why is the nazi symbol in your first sig?

First off, I know I'm selling out, but I need money and Im gonna do wha [bleep] takes. :? I changed the arm some.. guess it wasn't enough :P. I appreciate all the comments. I'll change the arm and the head when I can. I love how tedious these things are  8)

Thanks, I'll make those changes in a sec.

I'm honored to hear good words from you :D . I see exactly what you mean on all those points. I'm going to go and fix up now. Will keep you guys updated in this post. As for the black borders, would you just suggest using a darker tone of the base color for that area? Hehe i have to say i was drooling for interest after i noticed this thread and while the page was loading lol...I tried to be as constructive as possible since i was sure you could easily get all the pointed out stuff without screaming for a flame  However yes i mainly do that. Remember that a dark color choice implies more contrast while a lighter one (that is a very small difference in luminance value) gives a cartoony look. 8) Thanks that helps. Hope it wasn't too bad from what you were hoping. Granted it is my first pixel "drawing", but I'm sick of posts that say that.

Looks much better. Just a suggestion for a focal point, maybe put a glowing orb in there? It could completely kill the image, but I just feel it'd be nice to have something to look at.

Looks good, I like the texture on the rings. I don't like the grid though...maybe just fade it some?
-
Why are his arms just a straight line? Should be a size difference through out. Most arms dont' look like that...

Sigh, this is where the money's at so I figured I'd sell out. I'd like some comments on this so far and if see if any would like me to continue. Suggestions for the rest of it are well appreciated. Note: The guy was freehand with rs guy as reference. I did NOT trace. It even looks different :P Thanks Sorry for such a small update but I feel like it made a huge visual change:
