  1. Look at these forums and you tell me.
  2. The beauty of it all is that society isn't some stagnant rock that will never change. It is constantly changing, and each and every one of us can have an effect on it (probably not as much as we'd like to have, but it's still there). If you see something you don't like in the world, you can always do your best to change it and it might work out. If it never worked, then money or voting wouldn't be here in the first place. Someone down the line thought it would be a good idea to implement democracies and currencies so they acted on it and now we are here today - in a society with voting and money. We are what perpetuates society.
  3. Which really doesn't make a difference. They're both scams. Yourself and the random guy are to blame, but whether you deserved it or not is an entirely different issue. By telling me that, you're pretty much saying the gaming world is a haven for immorality. Morality does exist in video games, because the players are real people. Just because something is virtual doesn't mean you're free to do whatever the hell you want. Real bank accounts are virtual representations too. I do think rape and death are a lot worse than getting some RS items stolen, but that doesn't automatically mean that stealing someone's RS items are okay. It's funny when people try to justify doing bad things.
  4. I think that's the same exact mentality that's holding us back. Racism isn't nearly as bad as it was in the past. Governments were fine with torturing and killing groups of people just off the basis of one's skin color, religion, etc. In fact, they even participated themselves. Racism is still a prevalent issue but on a lesser scale. We have made steps forward, so why can't we continue? That's exactly what I'm saying... I have Native American blood. According to a lot of people on here, I should have this uncontrollable urge to ask white people to feel sorry for me and cater to me, yet I don't feel the need to at all.
  5. Oh, I had things backwards sorry. But anyways, I agree. There needs to be more items exclusive to noncombat skills only. Jagex keeps making more combat items such as the Godswords, but stuff like Smithing is left behind in the dust, only supplying you with Rune. Kind of weird for a skill that is so much harder than combat.
  6. RATM - Renegades of Funk
  7. If you don't wear a seat belt, do you deserve to die? If a girl walks down a dark alley, does she deserve to be raped? Yeah, it might be their fault for not taking the proper precautions but that doesn't necessarily mean the consequences are warranted. And it's definitely no excuse for selfishness.
  8. They do it make the game more intertwined and give you more motivation, that way people who like combat will have an incentive to train their skills and the people who don't like combat will train the skills because they already find them enjoyable regardless of the combat rewards. What about chins?
  9. Well since everyone seems to be so opposed to the idea, it suddenly makes me want it so, YES PLZ!! If they did make a movie, it should capture the aspects of the community more than the quests and storylines. It would be way too boring if it was nothing but dwarves and goblins bickering... But if it had scenes of millions of people following Zezima around asking for autographs and such, that would be pretty funny.
  10. It's random, meaning you can get very bad streaks and you can get very good streaks. If you flip a coin 1000 times and it lands on heads each time, that doesn't suggest that coins are more likely to land on heads. Unless you were to test it an infinite amount of times, you wouldn't have a precise method of finding something like that out.
  11. Many many many games are about combat and only combat. At least with RS they have some elements there to distract you from the combat. And it's completely possible to play without combat. Look at level 3 skillers and merchants. They seem to enjoy the game without fighting anything. They just woodcut or make money all day. Plus, when RS first came out it was much more combat based. They came out with new skills and quests that don't really have anything to do with combat. Out of all the new skills they released, Summoning was the only combat based one - and even at that, Summoning doesn't have that much to do with combat anyways.
  12. You can fling the blame anywhere you want. At the end of the day, I am accountable for my actions and you are accountable for yours. That same line of reasoning can be used to justify a criminal. "Yeah, they might be messed up in the head, but that's only because society made them that way - so it's not their fault."
  13. Yes, you get more mature as you grow older, but that doesn't mean a 10-year-old is always less mature than someone else who is 25. Let's measure maturity with percentages for convenience - this is all hypothetical. At 10-years-old you are 30%. At 20-years-old you are 50%. You became more mature. However, not everyone is going to be exactly the same. Someone else might be 20-years-old but only have the maturity level of 15%. Which means that the 10-year-old is more mature than the 20-year-old. Comp said that 10-year-old's cannot be as psychologically mature as people older than them, which is untrue because of the simple fact that we're all different. How does this:
  14. Huh? He insulted you by pretty much calling you a Nintendo dude. Then Nadril called him a 360 dude. He got offended and asked if being a PC dude makes you a better gamer, so I used his question against him and asked if being a Nintendo dude makes you a worse gamer. You said yes... I don't understand why you would insult yourself. :?
  15. We already have enough political threads though. By the way, I've heard that black people are twice as likely to be unemployed and three times as likely to live in poverty. There's so much contradicting evidence that I don't know who to believe. Although, from what I witnessed with my own two eyes, I know for a fact that black colleges exist but white colleges don't.
  16. [hide=][/hide] This victim of a drunk driver. I didn't even know it was a girl. Name is Jacqueline Saburido if you want to look up more pictures. It's not really her that's scary. It's more of the fact that she used to be a really pretty girl until fire messed her up. Can't help but feel a little motorphobic.
  17. Does being a "Nintendo dude" make you a worse gamer?
  18. I started playing Final Fantasy 7 again. Trying to get a maxed out file like I did in 12, but it sucks how things can steal from your inventory and pretty much ruin it. I had to do Cloud's flashback twice because after the first time I finished it, I went outside and got some weapons stolen from me. :x :x :x Right now I'm in Junon, the town with the Shinra parade. Took me forever to learn how to get a 50%+ rating for the parade. It's actually not that hard at all.
  19. Hmmm, I'm surprised no one mentioned being drug induced and listening to them yet. Are you sure? Aren't they known for making up rumors to get their fans worked up? I haven't heard anything about a new album yet. I wouldn't consider myself a "real Floydian" whatever the hell that means, but even though I do like a lot of their music I think that song is definitely one of their best.
  20. I hated Tool and Pink Floyd the first few times I listened to them then when I got into my teenage years my musical taste evolved a lot. The more I listen to them, the more drawn in I get. As for what Lateralus said, the fans do get [bleep]ing annoying when they call them gods and such, but I don't think that takes away from the band's music at all. (Although it's strange that someone with Lateralus as their name said that. :P ) I think it's stupid when someone doesn't like a particular thing just to avoid being associated with the other fans. How do you know what they intended to do?
  21. Shining Forces 2. The first RPG I ever played.
  22. I disagree - having freewill makes life less boring. As for race, yeah. There would be far less problems if there were only one skin color. The most we can do is ignore the differences of our skins, but when the government won't even do that then how is everyone else expected to?
  23. Firstly, smoking and drinking doesn't imply that you don't enjoy life. Secondly, that was a bad analogy. No one chopped off their legs. Their ancestors - not them - were the ones who suffered. You can get upset about it, but don't blame the current generation. People need to realize you can't live in the [bleep]ing past. I've had ancestors who were harassed by other races. Does this mean it's okay for me to expect something out of the groups of people who wronged my ancestors? No, that would be racist. Oh wait - it wouldn't, because racism is a word used to cater to society's double standards.
  24. What do you mean? My age or the game's?
  25. I mainly say that because the battle system didn't do much for me. I like a little more customization when it comes to combat. Also, the big hype about the multiple endings and time travel. I can see the appeal, especially given the time it was released, but I still think the story was over-hyped a bit. That being said, I also think the earlier Final Fantasy's are overrated. Well, maybe not the first one since it did launch the series and it was pretty unique at the time. I liked 7 and up because they all had pretty diverse fighting styles. It took me a while to get into Junctioning for 8, but later on in the game I really started appreciating it more. Final Fantasy 7 is definitely overrated though. If people liked it because of the materia and sidequests I could understand, but most high ratings only stem from the fact that the characters were "ever-so-cool". I don't see how being controversial automatically makes something great.
