I would agree if the cut-off point didn't mean that somebody 20 years old and 364 days can't buy one freaking shot of alcohol, but then the next day the law states he's allowed to buyout the bar if he wants. That's what happens when you make things like this mandatory. I can understand waiting one day when it comes to an 18-year-old because I'm fine with making compromises and that is the age of adulthood, but 21? Seems like a random year to me. You might say 18 is random too but then that would mean the word "adult" really has no purpose then. Except I don't think small children would be that interested in alcohol anyways. I don't mean to come off as liberal as I do, but I think rules like this are bull. Laws should exist to protect citizens - not to tell an adult they can't drink a sip of something all in the name of being "consistent". You took that too literally. Obviously it would be up to the seller's discretion and not as black and white as our current age laws. It might have some flaws but no more than the current system - it's ridiculous to deny a 20-year-old one shot of alcohol while allowing a 21-year-old to buy as much as he wants. There are no limits to the amount of alcohol you buy - which I think is a bigger problem than age. I'd rather have a little boy drink a shot than a grown man drink a whole keg. Yet there is no law against that. That was the point I was trying to make.

Yeah, there really is no solution except to get rid of restrictions completely. If anything, maybe the amount of alcohol should be regulated based on your age. It's stupid how you can't buy a drop of alcohol when you are 20 years and 364 days old but the second you turn 21 you can buy twenty bottles of whiskey if you wanted. Does that one day really make that much of a difference - you suddenly mature overnight enough to drink as much as you want even though last night you weren't mature enough to have even one shot? And what's the point of making 18 the age of adulthood when you can't even make your own decisions at that age?

You raise a good point. When I look back at myself even one year ago I can't help but feel a little ashamed. :lol: But then there are still a lot of people who are "at age to drink" who are even less mature than a lot of 18-year-old's I know. It comes down to the individual more than it comes down to their age. I know a 40-year-old man who had a family he needed to take care of, but all he did was smoke pot and drink all day instead of looking for a job. The government is fine with allowing him to buy alcohol that could have bought his family dinner that night, but yet they won't allow an 18-year-old with a job and a scholarship the right to buy alcohol during a holiday? It's just messed up how many restrictions society has on us. If we need restrictions I think it would be better to base it off of something else rather than age. That's what happens when you fight for something you believe in, even if it's only verbally. :mrgreen:

Yeah, that one took me a while to spawn too. He only spawns when you enter the Subterra and there are no monsters around. If you see a monster down there, just soft reset and try again. If you see no monsters on the floor, run around until he shows up because that means he is hiding there somewhere. If you already have been following those steps and still don't get him then it might just be a bad luck streak. Happened to me a lot when I was hunting down monsters for the bestiary - especially Holy Elementals. :x Just keep trying. It will come eventually.

I really want to know why you think taking a breath is just as helpful as alcohol. First of all, you've never been drunk. Second of all, you are not Plugpoint so you would not fully understand what she gets out of it. You're coming up with your own personal value on how much she gets out of it. Who are you to say that? Only she has the right to say how much she gets out of it. She might have told you why she drinks, but that doesn't mean you know exactly what she gets out of it. No it isn't. Saying that just proves to us that you pick and choose to have an evil stigma surrounding alcohol because of what happened in the past. Your reasons for hating alcohol can be applied to anything with a risk and an alternative. Alcohol can get you drunk - a car can't! Something you seem to be persistently ignoring is that most people who drink don't do it because they have to - they do it because they want to. To them, the benefits outweigh the risks. You might hurt your liver a little from drinking. You might also hurt your fingers from playing video games. You might also hurt your neck in a car accident. You might also damage your skin from being out in the sun too long. You might also step on a sharp rock if you walk around without shoes. No one needs to do any of those things - they just want to because to them the positives outweigh the negatives. Now, if you think that there are more negatives than positives then fine, but don't call us idiots for feeling differently. PS: No one called you an idiot for not drinking. You're the one who came on this thread and called the majority of us here all idiots. Then you get surprised when you have to "defend" yourself from multiple people who disagree. It really doesn't make sense.

I can vouch for that. :thumbup: There was a point where my hair came down to my chest. At the time, I loved it (in fact I even remember chastising anyone with short hair) but after I got it cut I didn't know why I even had it long in the first place. My hair's about an inch now and I think it's great. It prevents your head from being too hot in the summer, it doesn't get in your face while you sleep, junk won't get in your hair, you don't need to groom it, it won't slap you during a windy day, if it gets wet it isn't that big of a deal, smaller chance of getting lice, and best of all people get to see your face. I feel bad for women. Straight women at least.

I'd rather move onto another Final Fantasy game. Not yet though - I think I'm gonna take a break from Final Fantasy in general. Maybe play Super Smash Brothers or something. I really have no clue why you think the line is suddenly drawn at alcohol but for everything else in the world that has an alternative, it's fine. You can post here all you want. I have no problem with that. As long as you don't mind me disagreeing. I do agree to disagree, but why do I have to stop posting here? Then cars are the alternative to walking. They are faster though, so that is why people are drawn to them. As for alcohol, it helps some people have a better time than being sober which is why they're drawn to it. Yes, you can do those things but not on the same level. That's why people choose to drink. You might be able to have fun without it, but I have even more fun with it. You think that's alcohol's fault? I would say it's because our technology is going at an exponential rate - which means less "doing it yourself". Also, there is processed food to account for that. Alcohol has been around for a very very long time. It's not something that suddenly popped up a few years ago and caused this social decay you're speaking about.

Judging by the fact that you seem to avoid them, yeah. But that's up to the consumer - not you. It might be too unneeded and expensive for you, but not for everyone. I'd much rather spend money on beer than money on an amusement park. Plus I have more fun. It might have some facts but it's still propaganda. They can do that by specifically ignoring all the pros to alcohol and blowing all the bad things out of proportion. Yes, they might not be "lying" but they are still using a strategy to make it look a lot worse than it actually is. For example: Did you know an average of over 100 people die in car crashes per day in the US alone? Cars are expensive and kill our planet. Many criminals escape from the police all because of cars. Notice how I left out the part where it's the most convenient source of transportation available, it is extremely helpful when it comes to emergencies, and all the other good things? It's easy to turn anything into something bad.
