If Runescape wasn't Runescape then what else would it be?

Why does everyone always ignore the time it takes for the crops to grow? That's something you need to take into account. I like Farming, but it's not accurate to say how much the skill makes when only looking at the effort and ignoring the time it takes for things to grow. That's like saying the stock market can make you a billion dollars in one minute. It takes one minute to distribute your stocks, but you also have to wait for quite a bit. And people tend to want their money sooner than later.

Yeah, because Jagex made money in RS in order to suck the fun out of it. -.-

I think we are talking about two separate things since neither of us seem to be budging. What I'm arguing is that there is no probability involved when it comes to existence. You never had the chance of being a rock or being a different animal or person. Of course that's not to say there wasn't a chance of you not existing (your parents not conceiving you) but existing as a different thing is another ballpark. If your current organic composition was replaced with a whole new organic or inorganic composition, then that wouldn't be you - it would be something else. If you died and fertilized the grass and made it grow, that doesn't mean you are now the grass. You are you, and that's all there is to it. I thought this concept was the whole point of your first post: We even devised a legal system of labeling the biological product of our complex and individualized body of life, known as the self. If you were a whole new different biological product, wouldn't that make you a different "self"? I think it's a paradox - an extreme version of the Theseus Paradox.

Like I said, that's my point. Why do you think I brought the rock example up in the first place? "We" wouldn't be that rock, but it would still exist in place of our human existence - just like with the raccoon. So how can you say "we" would be that raccoon, when the only "we" that is possible is our human form? It's a paradox. You're saying "we" can be something else, when in reality we can't be anything else besides ourselves.

Well, yeah because by the definition of incarnated it means to be embodied in flesh. However, my point is that we're all made out of matter. There is just as much of a "chance" of being composed out of something organic as there is to be composed out of something inorganic. I think probabilities are pretty irrelevant when it comes to this though.

That's the point. If you had a "chance" to be something lesser than a human then where does that line stop? According to evolution, we came from inorganic material.

I used to think that way too, but it's like saying you had a chance to be a rock. Instead of being constructed from organic material, you had a chance to be composed of granite and not have a life at all. That being said, I am grateful that I am a human and not a raccoon or a rock. I believe there's a purpose to being human.

I know what you're saying but that doesn't make sense. You'd rather want him to wait 3 years and then drink everyday than start right now and drink a few times a year? Besides, the person wanting the legalization is not necessarily always affected. For example, take a look at the homosexuality thread. There are many straight people that are for gay marriage. Why? Because they feel it's an unjust rule, even if it doesn't directly affect them. I could be wrong, but he did say he never got drunk before.

So he brings up drinking responsibly and you use that against him? Something's wrong with this picture. Would it honestly be better for his argument to say he wanted to drink everyday? -.-

Yeah, in my experiences, I've only had one person who proved too irresponsible to handle alcohol... but he's 15 and irresponsible even when sober anyways.

I feel the same as internet dating as I do with homosexual relationships. They don't cause any more harm than a normal relationship, so the only real problem is that it is "weird" which is pretty negligible if you ask me. I'd rather have two people that loved each other go out even if they don't know what they looked like, than a typical high school relationship of just having a boyfriend because you see all of your friends have on and you just don't want to feel left out.

Anybody ever tried dipping plain bread in spaghetti sauce? It's delish. :D

And why can't the same thing be said about the good things? They were still positive occurences that took place, regardless of whether you were completely in control of them or not.

Now you're arguing that you shouldn't have to be drunk to do good things? :lol: That's irrelevant though. The point is, alcohol doesn't turn everyone into a stupid immoral baboon. I can use your exact argument against you Bawihawk - "the bad things you do when drunk don't count because you're not being your normal self".

Because being drunk can also cause you to do good things you would not normally not do, such as getting over fights, being more generous, being more open and confident, or coming up with new ideas - all of which I have witnessed before.

Of course you act differently with alcohol but that's not always necessarily a bad thing. People can get over fights while they're in the drunk state of mind, so the argument can work both ways.
