The group of people that are discriminating against the victims are more at fault. That's understandable. I would want to keep sex offenders and cannibals away from my family too. You misunderstand me. Hitler used it as justification, that doesn't mean that it really was justified. He used Judaism because it was easy for him to use, he could have quite easily chosen something else to segregate people, and then justified that. But because religious people stick to their ideals and principles - no matter what - it makes them easy to single out, attack and undermine. Yes, they are easy targets but so were homosexuals, the disabled, and people from other countries. Plus you're blaming the wrong group of people here - it makes more sense to blame the criminal than the victim. Hitler was the one who has done wrong by discriminating against Jews. The Jews haven't done something wrong just by being a Jew. And also, if you were to blame the Jews then that would mean you're blaming the homosexuals, handicapped, and people from other ethnicities just for being who they are as well. Like I said, if anyone is to blame for the holocaust, it is the people with twisted ideals.

I don't believe that, as that kind of implies that he was justified in the first place. They were just a scapegoat. If Jews didn't exist, there were still other groups of people who he wanted exterminated anyway - polish, homosexuals, and anyone who didn't fit the "perfect" Aryan criteria. Religion shouldn't be to blame for the holocaust - twisted ideals should be. That's an interesting view. Religion is the past, science is the future. Personally, I always thought it was best to keep the past and the future in mind when making decisions for today.

Strong atheism is more or less what I was aiming at. After all, I am talking about those teenagers that usually have Christian upbringings, find out about atheism, the feeling of rebellion gets to them, and they go out and make assertions that "I believe God doesn't exist" (notice the capital G and the wording?) rather than looking into it first and actually finding out why these people feel this way... which isn't just to be a rebel. It's very stereotypical but it's a pattern I've been seeing a lot in society. Plus, since the people I'm talking about usually have Christian upbringings and are in America (not Japan) then in their point of view, it is pretty uncommon, which is why it gives them the feeling of rebellion. That's exactly what I was getting at, although I'm not saying that you should be religious or anything like that. Just to think for yourself, no matter what your theological stance is. Like stated, people like Venomai and Warri0r are the ones I have respect for because they actually do some independent thinking rather than just being a sheep to Dawkins. Of course there are some who try the more scientific approach, but it's still almost as dumb as just blindly following. By this I mean those who see the contradictions in the bible and think that this is evidence that god doesn't exist. It's not! All this suggests is that the Christian religion and interpretation of god is flawed, not that it's impossible for a god to exist.

Technology is exponentially progressive so it's obvious that people in the past aren't going to have as much technology as people in the future. But what kind of progress have chimps made, may I ask? The ability to make progress is what I meant by technology - I didn't specifically mean what technology we have available today. The thing that sets us apart is that we have the ability (although it is a given that it requires time to see results) to progress, whereas chimps haven't been doing anything new no matter how much time you give them.

That technology wouldn't be there if it weren't for our intelligence, so why shouldn't it be used to measure? Compare the technology of man to the technology of chimps. The reason there is such a large gap is solely because of the difference in intelligence and our brains.

If you want to prove something on a universal level and convince others, then yes the burden of proof definitely should be applied. From as far as I can tell though, I don't think she's trying to convince anyone - just justifying herself. After all, she brought up how it looks ridiculous in the eyes of others. Maybe arrogant was the wrong word. It's okay to be arrogant. I meant ignorant. There is a limit to human understanding and comprehension. If you think that you can somehow answer every question there is, then you're just as "weak-minded" as Goddess for believing the crystal method. Omniscience sounds like an illogical fantasy to me.

What if something is impossible to be scientifically proven? I'm not just talking about evidence which doesn't exist - I'm talking about evidence which can't exist. Perhaps her crystal method does work. How would you try to disprove that? You'll try replicating it of course, but then you have to take into account that there are an infinite amount of variables. You can't copy something like that precisely. Reb =/= Goddess, boy =/= girl, you are different ages, live in different areas, etc. Maybe the fact that you are skeptical causes it to not happen. Those are all shallow examples, but you get the idea - anything can be the cause of the success of her crystal method. We're not just talking about mixing two colors and finding out what new color they make, this is far more abstract. Unless you were to replicate her 100% (which is literally impossible) then your results won't be 100% accurate. If it works for her, it works for her. Simple as that. Science does give us a lot of answers and it helped us progress as a race immensely, but if you really think it can answer every single thing under the sun then you're just arrogant.

There are those who are scientific and come to their conclusions with proper reasoning like Venomai and Warri0r, and then there are those who just want to follow people like that around without doing any independent thinking for themselves. If you want to be an atheist there is nothing wrong with that, but it's a bit hypocritical to do the same thing religions do and blindly follow just so you can look like you're a bad [wagon].
