Things that annoy the hell out of you
And being based in Japan means that they are likely to add stuff from their own culture into it. What if I'm not interested in the Japanese lifestyle? There is a lot more to anime than it just being based in Japan. They have similar ridiculous hairstyles, annoying facial expressions, special fighting movies that seem to come straight out of video games, cliche little teenage hero stories, the tone either being extremely serious or extremely non-serious, trust me - I have my reasons for disliking it, so don't make assumptions about my character  and think that I don't like it just because it is from a different country. Yeah, you can say there are cases of anime that differentiate from those broad elements I pointed out, but that can be said for country and everything else. All country is not exactly the same, but it has similar elements and it's more convenient to judge it as such. You google a random anime picture and you're likely to get some teenage kid pop up with goofy hair that is staring off into space pondering about his/her adventures. Like I said, the same goes for country music or any other kind of genre. You can't honestly tell me anime is separate from every other type of genre in this context. I mean you can, but then it would only be fair for me to call you biased and it seems like you wouldn't like that. That's not what I read. I read him saying he didn't like anime, Gallade telling him to get over it, him saying he prefers American cartoons, and then you telling him that he just "doesn't understand anime". I mean unless somebody edited their post and I missed it, I think that you guys were making a big deal out of someone just saying anime annoyed them, even though that's the purpose of this thread. My dad liked it and forced me to watch it that movie. It bored me. I wouldn't say it's childish - more like the opposite. But anyhow, it did not appeal to me. How hard is it to not say anything to him at all? Stop throwing the blame around.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Shame some people are too narrow-minded to even give homosexuals a chance to be their friend. I'm friends with more gay guys than straight and I'm so used to it that it always shocks me when people are homophobic lol D: They are guys, meaning you don't have to worry about them hitting on you. I got hit on by two gay guys before. Not something I would want to go through again.

Things that annoy the hell out of you
And anime share a lot of the same common elements, or else they wouldn't be labeled "anime". There is some sort of requirement that needs to be fulfilled in order for it to be called "anime" or else they would be just regular cartoons. It is possible, yes, but not for everyone. Looks like you are making an assumption about our character - you assume that we just aren't looking hard enough or that we just don't want to like anime, as opposed to us just straight out not liking it. When was I making assumptions about you? You like anime... do you really consider that an assumption?

Stuff you could NEVER get into
Harry Potter is very enjoyable. I only refuse to read Twilight because it has become so popular right now. Seems everyone has read it, so I refuse to. I probably will eventually, to see what all the fuss is about, but who knows. Wait, wait. Let me get this straight. You don't read Twilight because it's popular ?! Not because it's a pile of [cabbage] ? This is what I don't like, people that try so hard "nonconformist" that they run away from everything that's mainstream and popular because it is mainstream and popular. That's like saying you refuse to read Shakespeare or Orwell or even Yeats because millions of students study it ! Ridiculous. EDIT: Or conversely, you like follow something religiously because it's unknown or uncommon. [/hide] Like a lot of atheists. Err, atheism isn't uncommon. It's a personal choice, not the sort of thing you do just to be different. Compared to other religions, it is fairly uncommon. And believe it or not, there are always going to be people that follow something for the wrong reasons. You never heard of teenage pseudo-atheism? I've had a case of it myself, as did many other people I've seen.

Welfare
Am I the only one that actually agrees with him to a small extent? Probably. It's not that I don't see the logic behind it. I just don't think it's right to murder an innocent person.

Things that you LOVE
I used to love sleeping like all of you, but that was when I had to wake up at 5:30 am. Now I hate it because it just drains away a lot of the day and I don't even have good dreams anymore.

What is the hardest quest?
MEP2, those shadow things beat the crap out of me. Puzzles + Surviving is a bad mix. My stats sucked really bad while I was doing the quest though.

Japanese wrestling legend Mitsuharu Misawa dies in the ring
I never really got the whole wrestling is fake debacle. Yeah, there is some exaggeration involved but a lot of the pain you see them go through is very real. I remember one wrestler getting interviewed and some guy said that wrestling was a complete fake. The wrestler slapped that guy in the face and asked, "Was that fake?"

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Don't over-think it and don't have a script of what you are going to say to her. Just let your talking flow freely. Oh and don't be afraid of showing your cocky side, but don't let it annoy her. Chicks love cockiness. [Nobody better misquote me. :shame: ] If she's one of those girls who claim to hate guys that are cocky, then be cocky about your 'noncockiness': "I hate when guys always need to showoff. They're so pathetic. I don't care what the hell people think of me. Bla bla bla." Either way, girls really like it when you express yourself in an assertive more dominant manner. EDIT: So I noticed you posted that yesterday and it was for that evening. Oh well. :-# Let it be a lesson to the rest of you then!

Worst thing you got caught doing at school!
I remember my friends stole one and there was an employee outside watching them. He didn't even care - he just watched them run into the van and instead of trying to stop them he was laughing at them.

Filter out younger players in public chat?
Very true. There are two types of maturities. Physical and psychological. Many people get them confused and think that just because you are 10 years old then that means you can't be psychologically mature. Your body and your brain might not be mature, but your actions still can be. And your actions tell a lot more about yourself than physical appearance, so why should someone be judged by the less important aspects of themselves? I've ran into some of the most immature adults on the internet, and I've also met some mature kids. It's unfair to the kids who really are mature to filter them out.

Is Runescape worth it?
What's wrong with competition? Sports are all competitive and about "being the best" too but yet you see nothing wrong with them. I agree that some people can take it to the extreme (not eating or sleeping in order to get xp faster) but competition in general isn't a bad concept at all.

Do you do Tears of Guthix every week?
I used to, but then I just got more interested in other stuff. It takes so long to get there that it isn't worth the <10k xp gain anymore. It was when my skills were under 70 though.

I think this is great. Woodcutters deserve lots and lots of money for their hard work. :^o

Supreme court rules against school in strip search case
That's strange. My American Government teacher told me that we lose all of our normal rights as soon as we enter the campus - such as the right to refuse unreasonable search and seizure and freedom of speech. Glad to see them setting a good precedent.

Why is America cold?
America is such a young country compared to China. It definitely made a lot of successful steps forward when it comes to technology, fat or not.

Welfare
Very good way of putting it. I think everyone (given that they're not a threat to society, ugh... there always has to be exceptions) should have the right to live healthily and have a fair shot at success. Capitalism and communism are both too extreme for me. I don't agree with children going hungry just because their father is too poor to pay, but then again I don't agree with people who work their [wagon] off having to give their money to someone who manipulated the system in order to get some extra cash. I like it in the middle - give everyone the basics and necessities but let them strive freely for the extras.

Is God real post your thoughts!
I don't believe I said anything like that in my entire life. I think questioning is one of the most important things you can do, which is why I'm questioning his method of questioning. I just think that stretching it into 10 questions seems like an attempt to make it look like you're examining things from many perspectives, but in reality they're the same couple of questions blurred together from only a few perspectives. Examining something in many different lights is a good thing, but just making it appear that way is a bit dishonest. Don't worry, this has nothing to do with religion. I'd be saying the same thing if there was a Christian asking questions that lead to the same exact answers. It's just a brutally biased method of doing things. You have a question and there is an answer you like - so you just reword the same question to make it appear separate from the other questions, thus making it look like you have more evidence than you really do. I always thought lists of 10 were a bit fluffed up too by the way.

Things that annoy the hell out of you
I don't think so. That's the same as saying there is a country band out there for everyone and that they just aren't "giving it a chance". Some people just plain do not like country. Do you need to see every single one in order to not like the genre as a whole? I mean, I think generalizations are just as dumb as the next guy but sometimes they are necessary and can save you a lot of time. I haven't watched every single sport the world has to offer, but then again I think it's reasonable to assume that since none that I have watched ever appealed to me, that it would most likely be a wasted effort searching for that one sport that I will actually enjoy watching. I could be using my time for other things, such as things I already like. He does have his reasons, but of course you are going to be a biased anime-lover and always say that they are dumb reasons and try to apply his own arguments to everything that he likes in order to make it seem like he really has no reason to dislike anime. Do you see where I'm going here? It's subjective, how are you expected to see everything in the same exact perspective? Of course they are going to be bad reasons to you - the person who likes it. And of course your reasons for liking it are going to be bad for him - the person who doesn't like it.

Things that annoy the hell out of you
Venture Bros., The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. Those cartoons are directed to adults. And eventually you are gonna run out of reasons to hate anime and end up making yourself look bad. I hate anime, but my reasons are rather offending. I'd rather you just think I didn't have a reason. Couldn't the same thing be said for liking anime for a pitiful reason? That's why I never understood arguments that are completely based off of our own personal subjective opinions and nothing more. He hates anime. You like anime. You are bashing him for hating it for dumb reasons, so may I ask what your great reasons for liking it are? And that's a rhetorical question, so don't take it literally and answer unless you really think your reasons for liking it are any better than other people's reasons for hating it. I mean... I am in the right thread, correct?

Final Fantasy Discussion thread
Sounds a lot like my list, except I would add 8. ~~~ I beat every mark except for Yiazmat and also beat Hell Wyrm yesterday. He took forever... kinda scares me to think Yiazmat is going to be over 5 times as long. :?
