  1. I could post the reference image, it is pretty on with the pose though As to the colorization, yup, set to color dodge though :) Saves time on the dodging and burning :) Have to clean up the lines a bit, then put the layer, color dodge, then if your doing photos etc. really rework it. Your other option is the colorize method which I think in ps is done through the hue/lightness/saturation display, but in corel is done in the color balance display. THere are some nice tutorials already in existence though, so I think I will save the time and find those :)
  2. This one is by the wifey, with reference, done for the daily sketch thread: 2b pencil, 3.5 hours she tends to work in traditional media, and doesn't have a tablet. (I keep that all to myself! haha...well it is not on her computer anyway, and I tend to use mine a fair amount). a 5 minute colorized version (tutorial can be done if you like! Great for monochromatics, or even for colorizing old photos!) Since she doesn't have her own tablet this coloring is easier. So I showed her how to do it. If anyone wants a sig based on this let me know! She said it would be ok.

  4. I reminds me a bit of a small mosaic...those little tiles for those who are not following. Kind of interesting. Perhaps rednering a whole scene in mosaic drawn tiles would be a challenge!
  5. Not a bad bird, especially considering the program it was done in :) The wifey is still working on her reptile...will be posting it soon. Looking pretty good too! So don't worry if you have to go overtime on some.
  6. Because it is the DAILY sketch. People can always post old ones. But I won't slack for others or this will turn into the weekly....bi weekly...monthly sketch. Besides, some don't like a particular topic, and they are waiting for the next one (ie...keiphus didn't like fairies etc.).
  7. Actually in this case I did use too soft of brushes but the bigger problem is I did it in low resolution....aw well, my mistake..and yes it is for a sig. As for the legs...it is a cartoon :) I like it that way.
  8. Yeah, saw that myself, just fixed it.
  9. Decided to go more cartoony for this one. I actually took out an old corel draw file...my first ever in Corel Draw! A turtle. I reworked it big time, painted it etc. and came up with this.

  11. Naw the actual size supports a 12 inch print on DA :) But I don't just go posting that. a. It doesn't fit on the screen for easy viewing b. Just in case someone might want to order a print. c. Strange as it sounds I have actually had at least one person rip my art...ask wyrmy who noticed it.
  12. haha, or save shipping, print it at home, tape it with scotch tape and send us both 4 bucks for the idea!
  13. yup, done that :D but i think you should make a complete bg of it, or something else, i've really come to like this work of yours :) Well due to the aspect ratio..that would be quite difficult. But I do have a solution.... Wait until the print comes out, buy it, and when it arrives, tape it to one side of your monitor so you can gaze at it AND use your desktop :)
  14. Thank you, and I don't mind. However, you need not make an image to acheive something quite close to that. Simply right click, set as wallpaper, and then center :) You can even set the bg to black.
  15. Aw thanks! Blended the sun, etc. As for the grass...I could do it...but I don't think I will. I actually like to let people think that is what they want to. I thought of it is as more water, just darker and darker..some thought of it as a beach, some as a cliff...that is fine...make it what you want :) Updated, firmed up the horizon, added a splash, brightened the sun a bit, etc.
  16. hm...could be fun...box turtle? Snapping turtle? If I do a turtle you can have the siggy....well...most likely anyway..I know two people with turtle in their name ....
  17. Pretty nice! The angle is a bit unusual, but draws you in a bit :)
  18. um....why did you ask for my dolphin one if you are getting a new abstract?
  19. Not precisely UNDER sea, but hey, it was fun. Scene in painter, dolphin in corel draw, finished up in corel photopaint. couple hours or so...just learning painter so was fun to do. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14723911/

  21. z brush is a bit different though in its manipulating of current models. I saw the tutorials on the new version and it looked fantastic. But the reason you are getting few comments is that most people can't afford the programs, can't use them if they did, and have no real opionion on what they can't do :) We used to have a couple modelers around, but haven't seen them lately, and wistan is a pro animator but again, doesn't stop by much. If you post that over at cgtalk or even gfx forums in their wip sections you will probably get some good pointers and critiques.
  22. Very nice work! I have not seen many gradients that I thought made a piece better, but that one is spot on! I especially like the orangish one as it very closely approximates a real guitar. Like me you seem to handle bg's as an afterthought! So my only challenge to you would be to put a bg. But the drawing itself? 10/10, you did what you set out to. Edit: Thought of one other thing that would add to it...but I am not sure how well you can do it in pixel. That top is very slick, high sheen. It should have some specular highlights on it. But again....I would guess pixel can do it ,but it would be much harder than brushing.
  23. Perhaps, but it is easier for new people to get the idea if they see the old ones..and it inspires them.

that is partly why it is a WIP....Work in Progress....
