First try at "vector"(?) art!
I find it ironic that the one posting about shading has no vector shading in his either...only patches of tone. Anyway, I rather like it. The eyes do in fact distract though. I would also remove the chin outline or find some other way to suggest it. btw, which program?

Daily Sketch Thread-It is BACK!- topic: angels @@@@@@@@@
Ah just go get the gimp for free. It is getting better all the time. I even like their color wheel option...similar to painter. But the brush size dialogue (or lack thereof) really ticks me off. I still use corel of course ;)

Ok. ~witty That's better...now make your bed, and clean behind your ears young man! anyway, I think your quote was from the azzy thread. But since it is a fairy i will let it go :) The full size work won't load...da is slow right now....but the smaller work looks nice. Of course if you didn't call it sleeping I might have thought it was dead... will post more when the details Load :) And I hope you will participate regularly! Ah there is loaded. Your usual sketcy style. You going paint this one out? or just leave it as is? Anyway I like the nice onsie outfit. It might be even better if the skirt had kind of a patterned trim...rounded ...not sure how to explain...U-U-U-U like that sort of... The basic anatomy seems fairly sound.

DAG 2? The right way.....just some thoughts tip art boards
Yes it would have to be a sub forum on the tip system. And wyrm, that I saw in a quick review, never really commented on the subject. But Azzy, Pup, Keiphus, and I did. However, we all thought the biggest issue was the exclusivity which lead to a. hurt feelings b. slow down of the main media board c. Not enough posts in the DAG this would avoid that, and still give a chance for more critiques AND would be a place where new folks could learn. THey just wouldn't learn about SIGS. Actually the last go around...found here..... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=517 ... g&start=90 Raenond said he would support it. But that was as a usergroup, not a new forum. We will have to see what he says about that. It would eliminate the drawbacks of the old system though and provide more space for both sig makers and those wanting to learn art. If that would not be doable, I suppose an OPEN user group with no restrictions and self registration would work alright as an alternative. It would be less load on the mods that way.

Well the concept is that it is not a JOIN thing. But you would be welcome to come by and participate!

DAG 2? The right way.....just some thoughts tip art boards
There are a great number of your type, and we are growing day by day. It would mean a few more headaches for the admins than the old board did because a user group could be modded without much work from them. I even modded the old dag for a stint, and I guarantee they wouldn't make me a regular mod :) I know the reopening of the dag was proposed in the tip (post scape) era but it was an exclusive one again, and I think that would have no chance of working.

DAG 2? The right way.....just some thoughts tip art boards
Recently I have been heartened by the number of people attempting to do larger than sig work that has nothing to do with making a quick fistfull of rs gp. Building ARTISTS rather than just making cash is a great part of what this board has always been about. I wonder if it is time for another shot at the old DAG board (Digitial Art Group for those who wonder). THe problem with the old DAG is that it was exclusive. That hurt feelings and caused problems, and also made it to where few people posted. Yet there were some great points about the DAG. You could get real critiiques there. Posts such as Keiphus' WIP, or the daily sketch thread, etc. didn't dissapear in 25 minutes under a pile of signature stands. I recognize that sig making is great fun, a good source of cash, and I have made many sigs in my time here. But for those of us wishing to hone our skills a bit and keep some of our friendships alive it would be good to have a board to post more ambitious projects. Also, the traffic on this board is high, and it is a good place for beginners to mid-level artists to get real feedback. Most of the really great art boards are either not well trafficked or are for pro's only. (You can post on some, but watch out if ya do). Our little board here has always been inspiring to me, and a great place to ask what would be considered dumb questions on other boards. So here is what I am proposing: A sticky that links to a new forum where non-sig projects would be posted.(a redirect link basically) It could be 3d, drawings, pixel, anything. Just not sigs, and sig shops, and sig rates etc. This board would be for ANYONE to go to. Not limited, not screened, etc. like the old DAG was. In other words it would be a sub forum, not a user group that you have to sign up for. That was positively bad for the boards. To avoid opening old wounds it could be called the "Tip Art Board." If this is just not workable I suppose an OPEN user group would be fine too. Just not as much traffic. It could also be the home of the daily sketch thread, daily photo thread, etc. We could have tutorial links to drawing lessons, shading lessons, tips, etc. It would be great! Let me know if you all think this would work. Just post your name in support of it! Perhaps the admins would consider it.

Lol... Another WIP.. this one will actually be finished!
Nice crits! Glad someone finally was NOT too lazy to mark. A. I don't know, that is alright in my book. B. Right on, that is what I was trying to say, it should fall straight. Right now it looks like a woman with TWO KNEES! C. You got that right. In that case it would do one of two things...balloon out the middle or flip that side right around into a flap shape--which might give a more dramatic wind effect. As for the fringe...I think militaristic is what is going on here...this is a general or a king watching the troops? Togas are cool...but royal folks are too posh for that. Besides, when was the last time you saw a pale blue, pointy eared, long haird manly guy? Yeah, me neither. Incidentally, this kind of post is what the media board SHOULD be. Makes me want a new smg. Not an smg..an art board. Open to everyone though. Think I will post that .

Sketch - Elven Archer
the out side of the legs don't seem to line up with the hips. And the head is at an odd angle. But I love the bow, the arrows themselves. Overall pretty good

BIG tip for digitial artists...give your tips too!
Actually, I see how that would work better. You know more what you are going to get. Thanks :)

The robe is MUCH better. The cape still isn't working for me. If there is wind you won't have multiple folds, you will most likely have a bulge in the middle. with it smoothing to the sides. Overall though, vast improvement.

Fairy!!!!! ------------Finished (this time I am sure)
thanks for the crits...I got some help from a guy over at cg talk, and I like the new version better. The nose was too high, ear was too low etc. as for the posterior.... so that you can see the morphology is correct I changed the clothing . Perhaps big is relative, lots of variation I suppose.

Simply Green. *UPDATE* 2nd page.
Witty, post more work and less flames. I like your work, but you are still way too harsh. And azzy...try the daily sketch..even if you don't draw much usually you WILL get better.

Noob Sigmaker Noob Sigs.Rate please.Tips welcome.
A clan board resident! The second is not bad. Try not to make your designs too busy. Ie...don't try to put too much into them. Lots of lines and textures just don't look good. Hope to see new stuff soon :)

Yeah if my ram can handle it I am going to try 4k by 4k at 300 resolution, just to do one of those big prints at da :)
