Tttia Inspired Brushed Sig - C&C Welcome plus ratings
ah well thanks :) Just a hint...try upping the contrast and see what it does for ya. But if you use really soft transparent brushes you can get those darker tones in without hard lines. Looking nice!

Some more issues with the robe/cape. The cape is seemingly at an angle, as if it were in the wind. Since it is longer than the figure we would expect it to be resting on the ground with some substantial folds on the ground. If it is to be at an angle then a. It would probably be billowing out in the middle more from the wind b. It might be at a more severe angle, not just an angle to the ground like that. c. The hair should also reflect such a strong wind. I assume that a huge wind is not the goal here so I would say most likely you need to put the cape at a different angle and have it cause folds as it hits the ground.

I really like the railing, looks great. I think some of the other elements will come along soon. But there is one aspect I want to focus on considerably..the robe. I can't believe I actually bought a book just on folds, but I did...and usually the garment hangs more or less straight from the hip unless it is a clingy garment. You might get some verticle folds, but not a lot of horizontal ones. In other words, the legs, usually having less volume than hips, would have some loose areas, but generally just fall strraight unless there is a reason for them to be pulled by another contact point. If that is the case it should contour a bit to the body. For instance, check out this AWESOME painting here.... http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=201563 Now notice how the left side of her garment hangs down mostly straight, maybe a tad of curve in..but then around the...um...backside, it clings a bit to the protruding contact points. This contact between points causes a slightly convexed slope. Now if you have a lot of twisting you get some other folds..such as on her upper body. The anchor points on her chest pull the fabric causing the deeper folds around her side etc. In other words....ther is no great reason I can see that you would have folds at mid leg in that pose. The actual shading of the folds look fine, but the placement is suspect. Now on the front there might be some reason for some folds, depending, but with the butt protruding there is a lot of space to drop more or less straight down. Now towards the ankles you might get some folds where it hits the ground etc.

BIG tip for digitial artists...give your tips too!
I just found out a great tip tip....which I am sure most normal folks already knew. But for all the dense ones like me out there....I was doing all my work in 72 dpi...that is why it was so sloppy. My latest I accidentally did at 200 dpi since I scanned it and I had more control and more color vibrancy...two things I wanted for my work. I still have to watch the soft brushes, but it is much better for prints etc. too. So crank up that dpi and resolution! Any other good tips out there?

Hehe well lets do two at a time...you pick one, I pick one. I plan on working on my art as my main hobby now that I finally unplugged my vegetated brain from rs. If one of us is gone the other can just do both. THat way we have some backup. I would actually like to get three or so of us..maybe wyrm...that whole mod thing means he will be coming back. And that way we have enough themes that people can choose what suits them. And I just found out the best tip....which I am sure most normal folks already knew. Mutant Freak - Pixel Art - Did this in class - Updated*
NIce work, though the light source in general could be a bit more clear. The colors are great, I like the more muted ones in this type of work. Good job :)

Simply Green. *UPDATE* 2nd page.
I like it ;) without the apple would be a bit plain. And I am not sure what the apple means in this context..other than it is green! but as to what to add...it says SIMPLY green...and that it is! Keep working on that vector! (do this in ps?...ie..fake vector?)

Don't BUG me! I love this piece!!!!! PRINT AVAILABLE SOON
http://www.deviantart.com/view/14483650/ I made a quick pencil sketch of the butterfly with reference. Then put it into corel photopaint and did the coloring and added the leaf and text. This was a fun one. I actually intended this to be only part of the picture with a fairy on it. If I do that version will post it seperately, but I really like this one as it is. The print is not available yet, mainly did that to see if it would get more views haha. But I did submit it, and will probably make this into a nice puzzle or something for my kids :) (if they do puzzles that size?)

photoshop brushes
I suppose I use a prefab brush once every few months or so...one of the ones that comes with the program...but usually just for borders or something. Most real brushing can be done with the little round default brush resized :) I don't say this to discourage you, just want to point out that we often sell short the simple solution. there is no brush that will make you awesome. The main thing I use them for is texture that is hard to get from regular brushes. And then I would rather make my own than look up one. It is fun :) especially if you have a vector program you can go in there and make any brush you could need then export it to ps or whatever.

you have a digital camera? Anyway, even if you have an existing drawing on the theme, try to do a new one :) the idea is to stretch your skills!

Godslayer was asking for it back, and I got to thinking, I missed it too! So we are back in business. The concept is simple. We give a topic each day. You draw a little sketch, painting what ever. Then we all post our stuff and have fun comparing. You can do more than one entry if you like. And if you miss one you want to do, you can always post it later. Do it for fun, do it for study, do it for a little self respect. Also, some want to be able to post their other works here. that is fine :) The more stuff the better.

A sketch - The Price of Victory
Yeah, with nad on this...I expected a rather personal touch to this..something that portrays some feeling. anyway, the actual sketch is pretty decent. Not sure i would put a severed arm, just seems a bit too far fetched. I am sure arms were severed, but not often with full plate, etc.

Bundled up....pencil shading , UPDATED
Yeah I overdid the highlights in the hair a bit, and the [bleep]yness. oh and /////// gotta compete with the pixelers somehow :)

Look at my cool art please...added more!
As I said before decent work ,but don't bump the thing when it is not even off the first page...or in this case..it is only down about 10 posts.

Rate the sig above you
Thanks ;) hm found the old file and gave it a workover. They were artifacts from the conversion of a coreldraw linework to photopaint. Going back to my other sig anyway. Nice sig, christmas theme goin there a bit late but still...gradient sky ..could be better...the overall shading is nice. Something about the elements dont really seem to mesh...too many different colors in the bg, and the text. I would say 7.3

New Brushed Pixel!! Rate Pl0z!
Yah I should note that what you have there is well done, just doesn't really hit ya due to lack of content. But the shading is nice in any case.

New Brushed Pixel!! Rate Pl0z!
I agree with the previous comment. Your biggest mistake was not thinking out a total theme at the start. But I know the feeling :)
