I had no intention of posting here, but I feel I will just because I think you missed the point of this post. It is not about individual tastes alone. And try to give something to work on rather than just saying you don't like it. What don't you like? The color? The composition? The animation? Chounin's sig was well enough executed. It has a decent render, vibrant colors, great boarder and pretty nice text animation. Even if you don't like it you could note its positive points. I would give it an 8.7 or so personally. For instance, I can't say as I enjoy your sig either. But I would note that the text is pretty interesting. The rest is not really tying together and the sub title text is nearly illegible at first glance. Even though it is not my taste I would give it a 6.8 or so on technical merit.

Yeah it helps if you have some samples and start out making free ones. But he will learn :) Honestly though Razy, my first piece of advice would be to treat people with respect when you post. I wasted a bit of my life reading all your posts, and you are just too harsh. You can give critiques without being a total jerk.

lame, old, but often true! lol Some really do get bitter over losing comps. I have no clue if he is one of them. Then, some have sense enough to realize the worth of rs gp.....not much (except on ebay....haha, but I always thought that was unethical, which is a shame becuase I was a RUNE MINER! woot, better money than sigs and killing people at the rocks is fun.....bout the only thing I liked about rs in the end). I agree with one element of it, what people like here is what they like. You can't change it over night. But that doesn't mean you have to adopt it! Just do what you like and accept that your wins/views/comments, etc. might not be as high as the pixelers, grunge folks, pre-fab filter freaks of our day. Because in the final analysis all that warm attention from media board folks has about as much value as...rs gp. We all like it, but we also know that we don't NEED it. Basically everyone posts here to be recognized a bit. Nothing wrong with it, just don't stress over not being recognized.

As for the eyes, yes I had to redo them after messing them up in the painter process :) I am not really satisfied with them either. I might redo some elements when I do the ears etc. Then again..once I lose that initial passion for a piece it can take forever to do that lol. I will post the original. Meant to do it anyway earlier....my pencil shading is not really where I would like it to be so it is nothing great :) Incidentally I have seen graphite smoother than this. Some of those DA pencilers are NON-HUMAN!!!! I particlularly like the 4th and 5th. The first is alright, but the pose isn't working for me and...man breasts...just not cool lol. But the fourth one in particular has potential. I would make the highlights more noticeable on that one. You have the base shading but need more light areas etc....more contrast. the 5th one would benefit from cleaning up the patches of smudginess around the figure. Otherwise it is pretty solid! The one other big gripe on that one is that the face has less detail than the rest of the work. It lacks the same shading. Good work :) good to see some more real artists on here!

Um, as I mentioned, no reference....no photo, I just made it up. I did see the idea for the hat though from someone at the eagles game lol.

This is a no reference drawing in pencil. I did the first version in crosshatching, then scanned it and redid the shading by smoothing out the lines in painter. It is meant to approximate smoother shading with a pencil, but didn't have to alter my original drawing. Did the hat shading etc in painter using a somewhat graphite like style. Edit: Finally finished this up with some ear muffs and some reworking.

speaking of resolve, nadril is the king of resolve! lol Witty and others tried to kill him off for years! For the guy who thought ps is just for editing...go check out this link....all concept paintings done in ps7 for the video game prince of persia warrior within.... http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35044 Not to mention the photorealistic paintings of people, etc. that were mentioned earlier. ps is probably THE most used program for digital painting. (painter is up there, but just not as many have it).

How do they want you to go about it? because if you simply mean slapping it in a trace program, that is easy. If you mean the, not real vector, but looks vector effect of selecting, applying fills, etc. then that is a bit more work. Is this part of a project or the whole thing? If the whole task is to vectorize then certainly you should do it your self.

a. I think the bg's are fine b. I like the brushing style in general c. No this isn't the best art site in the world. But flaming pointlessly isn't going to help the artists here either. d. People bought pet rocks too, I am not sure that would be a recommendation of your work. I like your top three sigs better than those commissioned works.

I think this one fits the lighting of this figure done long ago. It will be the last bg for it in any case, as I just don't feel like messing with this one anymore. I hope to do more bg's soon. This one is fairly low res., nothing fancy. I was just going for a mossy dark feel with some hard lighting from the left. I was happy with how that limited goal came out. Next time I want to do a forest scene with pixies etc.

I like the feel of this one. Nice colors for this theme. I am not sure the river texture looks overly well. Too regular or something...think you can mix it up in ps a bit? Otherwise, it is great.

New wrinkle..chellenge those in the room to draw odd things...I challenged x man to do two eggs and toast. Came out pretty well :) Another idea...have one person line up a graphics challenge. Each contestant goes to a different room. And each are given the same theme to draw. then post the results for judging.

Nice fire effect :) (unfortunately about the only thing those yellow tones are good for). My latest...getting better at the shading...slowly

Just crashed again..... this was going to be a patriotic theme..just started the hair. It is .tough to shade in this thing....is it crashing for the rest of you or is it my comp?

crashed again..there goes my dragon :) I had the mouth and all almost done before it crashed..but this is the latest screenie I got... Ice ring was doing the lettering :) Trying to work on shading.

if we leave the bottom brown area for writing messages it seems to go easier...they need a chat interface in there.

actually I figured that out by the time you got there but it is overrun by noobs. When someone is messing around just go to sb2 sb3 etc. I rew a wasp and now am drawing a human,....but might not finish that one. ah well just crashed anyway. The yellows and lighter colors seem to pick up the shadow..the darkers don't, and transparency helps some...not a lot but some.
