  1. It is preparing to receive a blow from a taller creature.
  2. That is absolutely amazing, you seem to have a different shading technique to most people, every piece of yours i see i know its yours at a 1st glance, well done, should be a nice competition It is the use of nice earth tones...really stands out. Good work.
  3. Great to have more free hand artists around here! (down with pixels, up with brushing!) Incidentally..what is that behind the full dragon armor wearing guy? not the cape..the other thing...
  4. Wait...did you say it was blurry? What resolution are you using? Anyone else see the larger as blurry? That is odd. That larger one is actually resized from an original that is even larger..shouldn't be too blury...But I do sometimes use too soft of brushes.
  5. very nice line work :) You seem to be a bit paranoid on the plagarism line since your posting stages . But soon enough they will get to know you and you won't have to bother. My only critique is that the final pencil shading loses the softness somehow of the second version. I think inking might be better, or leave it with just the line work. Upon further reflection is is mainly in the skirt area that the lines get rough.
  6. I need background practice...might give it a shot.
  7. tenshi, you migrated :) But then, maybe you did that a long time ago..i am slow. The sig is a bit flat color wise. That is my biggest gripe. I wouldn't really call that shading.
  8. yeah I noticed the shield too...tried to fix it once...back to it lol.
  9. Yup :) I put pixel for the extra views haha but it is definitely digital painting. I even used more of an oil paint feel on the shading on this one.
  10. It is not hair :) It is a tassle
  11. I don't know you, and this is totally unsubstantiated....I like it, it is pretty good. But I have trouble believing that someone who could render that and work it over in ps can't do better text than that.
  12. oops, just realized...could use a belly button haha.....er and forgot the straps on the shield....er...and made the left hand glove too thin when coloring the shield....will get to all that soon :)
  13. Ok, so it is not a pixel sig. But it has pixels in it. Might as well capitolize on the craze. Pencil drawing, painted in corel photo paint. . EDIT New version, lots of revision...harder lines internally and externally, as well as additions of hair, more fatial toning etc. I had my brushes way too soft...about 10 percent hardness often. I also had some graphite smudges etc. Some of the lines were not recoverable, but I tried to sharpen the ones I could and keep them more within the lines.
  14. Great job, especially for using a mouse :) (now get that tablet! )
  15. haha I like the text wyrm .the third one with the green bg is my choice :)
  16. Biggest thing to do right now....up the contrast slightly. that light shading you did will pop out more. THen see what you have from there. Looks pretty decent so far, but most when trying to get it smooth don't use dark enough tones or enough contrast. So upping it in the program helps. Also the white background washes it out. Try putting a darker color back there (which I am sure you would soon anyway) and you will see those details come out. Edit...as it turns out, I upped the contrast, and it could still use some more definition. Don't be afraid to use really dark tones deep in those folds. And just a hint, I like to set my color pallete to HSB...hue saturation brightness, so that when I go to pick shading colors, I just slide the thing up slightly and have a darker color.
  17. good job vlad, but the lines kill it. I might give it a shot. Love brushing practice :)
  18. sorry to hear of some real life concerns for your partner. I have been bored lately, and if ya need any other help with lineart or shading let me know. I have a bit of a different style. here are some samples. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=179804#179804 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=879 ... ight=tttia
  19. Taking comments on this, which is currently entered in a contest, but wanting to get some feedback from folks who rarely check those. I don't do photomanips often.. The precisely requested size.... A larger version.... siggy... Used a free stock photo, and augmented it considerably, etc.... Like the way it turned out. here is the original stock. Used a free stock photo, and augmented it considerably, etc....

  21. this debate has been revisited endlessly, but you need written permission to use work. It doesn't matter at all whether they mention that it is copyrighted. It is automatically copyrighted by its nature. If you do some searches you can find the research on this..er..unless it was in the scape era...probably was. If the guy said yes to using his stuff in an email or pm etc. I suppose that would work. But you might want to make a note under the banner saying "artwork by such and such" Since he didn't mind though, don't suppose it matters.
  22. Unfaith went by the name digital for a while too. they inactivated the unfaith name just in case he really was dead, and then he lasted a bit longer until the sig maker's guild controversy. At that point he called idpup the name of the leader of Germany during wwII if ya get the idea, as Azy referenced. I really don't know who was best of all time. I am biased because the most fun I had was over a year ago here. I would say that some of the current artists are among the best ever. The quality amont the top artists has improved.
  23. um...the red thing on the right IS the brushed part.... not bad shading, though the light direction is unclear. um very poor proportions. Not a bad start overall. At the risk of self promotion, check this link.... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=879 ... t=brushing
  24. well I don't come often anymore. Had about 2600 media posts on the old boards :)
