  1. yeah i know cold storage isnt in the legendary map pack, i was just adding on that it was crap. the only playlist i play is multi-team and team swat, but i wont get to general any time soon. too many games spent betraying team mates. 900th post in this thread lol
  2. this coming from the people who "brought us the number 7", i think they are just messing around with us.
  3. after seeing the legendary maps, i wouldnt pay for anything on halo. ever. ghost-town is decent, but avalanche, blackout, and cold storage are crap. i wish they would just put lockout back into halo 3, exactly how it used to be.
  4. you saw this on digg, didnt you?
  5. american idol and that new show "america's got talent". oh, and if miley cyrus has a show, that one.

for any swimmers out there, try my variation on a "sprint": 25m freestyle "sprint" at full speed. wait 5-10 seconds repeat 10-15 times
  8. wait...what? when did the new season start? damn. how many episodes have i missed, and is it still on wednesdays at 10?
  9. my brother and i used to love playing ocarina of time. its the only zelda game ive played besides majora's mask though. each time we went to our little cousin's house, he would want us to beat ocarina for him while he watched. damn that water temple! eventually we got very good at each temple after years of replaying it for him.

squats and deadlifts will train your core, but will not get you a six pack or defined abs at all. most people that ask how to train abs are looking for definition, which is where isolation exercises like leg raises and crunches are effective. someone has messed you up badly, man. cardio is essential for weight loss and building muscle. my friend was captain of the varsity football team, and let me tell you, he could sure fill out a shirt. he wasnt fat, but he was a bulky guy. when he decided to slim down he didnt do it by lifting, but by running 1 hour a day several times a week. its been about 6 months, and he has slimmed down to the point where you wouldnt recognize him. you wont lose much weight without some cardio to supplement your lifting. no, there isnt a magic drug that will immediately show you the body you want. i dont recall anyone on this thread claiming there was. supplements do exactly what they were named for: they supplement your exercise. proteins like creatine will only give you more energy; then its up to you to put that to use. i noticed your entire post was anti-cardio. if you're gaining more fat while lifting, the only option is not to lower your calorie intake. 15 minutes of cardio, 3 days a week will show much more effects than simple cutting down on calories. cardiovascular is essential to weightlifting; you need a strong heart and lungs while you lift. you have some good points, and i agree with a lot of it, but you have a seriously flawed look on isolation exercise and cardio. on another note... my workout partner and i didnt get to do our usual swimming before lifting today, so we decided to run a few miles instead. while we were running, this girl started using the cross-trainer in front of us, and i couldnt help but think of you rarex.
  11. i hit 1337 xp yesterday. haha

ill try to explain, but in the meantime ill try to find a picture to make it easier to understand. basically you're correct. you want to place the dumbell between your ankles, so you are applying pressure to the handle. edit: rarex, this is how the oblique leg-lift should look: [hide=][/hide] remember not to use momentum to get your legs up, because it wont help your abs at all.

the difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

[bleep], you can do like 100 hanging leg lifts? Is your stomach made of frikkin' steel or something? And I'm seriously asking where you're getting this idea of holding weights. One: It's frikkin' had to hold a weight between your legs, and two: hanging leg lifts are impossible enough. Most people I see in the gym can't even do thirty when they're just flailing it, let alone ten real ones. You're only supposed to make it harder when the given weight isn't enough to train fast enough (ie, adding a twenty five pound weight to sit ups or back extension thingies). Hanging leg lifts aren't easy enough to need to cut down on the training time, so I don't know why you're suggesting it. i can do about 100 leg lifts because i have been doing them regularly, along with other serious ab workouts, daily for 2-3 years. i was taught to do leg lifts by a fitness instructor that was working out at the same time i was several years ago. he showed me how to do the oblique lifts and also holding weights between your ankles. its not hard to hold a weight, and i never specified how much (by weight, i dont mean a plate. i meant a dumbell.) i dont know why its so hard for people in your gym to do 10 real lifts; perhaps they just dont do ab workouts regularly. id also like to add that after im done with one set of leg-lifts, im tired and sore. i dont come off it on a high and jump directly into other ab workouts.

are you talking about "barbie girl"? i hope not, for all our sake. how does scoring in rugby work? is it by 10s or 1? if its by 1, then you really did own the other team.
  18. ahh...swords is for noobs. if you make that arena map, we can play it with only snipers and get some no-scopes.

i wouldnt recommend doing those workouts until you cant do anymore. start off with 3 sets of one daily. the next day if you want you can do 3 sets of another, or however your workout schedule allows. it will be easier to track progress with sets and much more effective. plus i think your abs will kill you if you just do them all day. if you want to get into something like boxing, id suggest kickboxing.
  20. it seems like the new achievements are out. now im only 49/59...weak. anyone know where to find a list of the achievements?

ahh. yeah ive seen people doing those before, but i have never tried them. thanks for reminding me, im going to add a few sets of it to my ab workout. that is a horrible ab workout. we have one of those machines at my gym, and it really wont do anything for you. if you want good abs, there are many workouts. ill just tell you a few of the ones that helped me tone my abs. workout 1 (this is one set): -50 crunches holding a 15lb weight behind your head (make sure you look directly at the ceiling-do NOT tuck your chin. lift your knees and legs off the floor while doing crunches to isolate your abs) -50 roman twists (obliques) holding a 15lb weight -45 to 60 second stabilizer/plank -20 pushups + hold pushup position for 45-60 seconds (optional) workout 2 (this is one set): -30 hanging leg lifts (frontal) -30 hanging leg lifts (right oblique) -30 hanging leg lifts (left oblique) for the oblique version of the leg lift, you have to twist your legs near the top of the lift toward the oblique you want to use. its hard to explain, but ill try to find a picture or post a video later. it is also optional, but recommended, to hold a weight between your ankles while doing leg-lifts. workout 3 (this is one set): this workout requires a benchpress -place appropriate weights -lift the bar and hold it with your elbows slightly bent -while keeping your knees straight and together with toes pointed out, lift your legs vertically until your kneecaps almost touch the bar. (repeat 15-25) -benchpress 10 reps (optional) the extra weight of the benchpress stimulates your abs and puts more pressure on them while toning your pecs. hanging leg-lifts are tough. i wouldnt expect you to be able to do them correctly unless you have been seriously training abs for a month or more.

not sure what you mean. teach me! but i have done hanging left lifts, if thats similar at all.
