  1. This should be closed. Support of breaking the rules really isn't looked kindly on. I suggest this be locked immediately.
  2. God, those were the days. 200k for a santa hat 200k for a green mask 300k for a red mask 400k for a blue mask (just before RS2 that is) Those were the days. Before the average age of a RuneScape player dropped to 10. I don't care about graphics, I don't care about new items, and animations. Sure, they're cool, but I'd give it all up to have RS1 like was before RS2 was even announced! I still have my original scythe from that October of 2003. I hate it when I see people like N0valyfe that have never once played the game before RS2 was released, and yet they have gained a huge amount of xp in such a short time. Why can't there be more games like RS1? They need to give RS1 to some other company, so they can develop it, and have it to themselves as a seperate game. The way it is now, it's just a thing of the past that nobody can go to. I still have a santa hat on my RS1 account as well, and I remember going from level 57 to 61 when RS2 came out. I have never seen level 60 to this day, heh. I remember, I "borrowed" 100k from my great friend, and bought some armor, and a rune pickaxe. I have since paid him back, and he wasn't angry, he actually agreed to give me that 100k as a loan type thing, but God was that fun... I still remember dueling anywhere. I was in Falador West bank (a LOT different than it is today), and a guy level 30 something with rune chain comes up to me, and puts up 200k for my santa. I think "hey, I can beat him," so I decline, and offer to duel instead. He puts up his 200k, and I add my santa hat. What a foolish mistake that was. Turned out he was a mage tank. In RS1 it was a LOT more difficult to tell who was a pure and who was new to the game (as pures had really really REALLY low levels). I ended up selling my rune armor for 200k (I'm shocked it's stayed a constant price throughout the years), and bought another hat with my tail between my legs. Still, a very fun and exciting time of life for me. I just wish we could have that family like atmosphere back. I blame the whole downfall on the fact that JAGeX made everything too easy. Kids with little patience would leave the game because it took forever to level up, but that is what made it great. Only the people that really wanted to play would be there, and those people were generally nicer, and more mature. I was 14 when I started to play this great game. I'm 17 now. I joined in May of '03. But God do I regret not coming home after Winter Vacation that January, and logging onto RuneScape. If not for the sake of saying "I've played for 5 years," then to at least be involved with the creation of such a great game.
  3. actually it's been 5 days, it was released on Wednesday (it's Monday), so he's been getting over 108k xp per hour, which is sick.
  4. pictures anybody? This is awesome! I'm gonna love this summer (I'll not be gaining any more combat levels for a while). EDIT 1: Sweet, I like the new pictures. But it does seem that you can create your own place that others can visit! That's much better than the "one lot where nobody can visit you" thing!
  5. Jagex hasn't made an in-game update in a long while (excluding Royal Trouble). They are really dropping the ball.
  6. They may have done the update and are writting the news as we read this post.
  7. then what is the update? Some of us are at school and can't get on runescape.com.
  8. What, if it's a story on how somebody beat somebody else, it's fine, but any other time it's "no pic no proof"?
  9. Quick question, where does Jagex say this?
  10. Wrong. Prayer does make you stronger. You can do everything you can without prayer, and so much more. Just because you decide to use something doesn't make you any less of a person. If we were all out there to not "waste" your time, then we would just give you the items without even having to fight, now wouldn't we? But as I always say to your type: screw you. We're not here to give you the easiest kill possible, and if you think that, then you need to go rethink your entire life. I thought that the entire point of a fight was to put up a struggle, and see who comes out on top no matter what strategies are used, including prayer!
  11. You know, it's people like you that are in complete astonishment when someone reports you. My pure (who has the word "law" right in his name!) sees a bunch of the f2p genius, and as such, I report a lot of people, mainly for offensive language. If you want to swear, go ahead, but I'll report you for it. It has no place in this game, and casual cursing is one of those things that just gets annoying. Am I one of those guys that hears the word "fhck" and runs off screaming and crying? No, God no. But I do take offense when somebody strings together multiple words that take no real originality, and no real thought, in an effort to insult me. It's the same with the word "noob." I remember when you could be reported for saying that word btw.
  12. You seriously should go kill yourself. I'm sorry if anyone takes this as a "OH EHM G33!!!11one" kind of thing, but if you aren't willing to put any effort in anything, you don't deserve to live. And by saying "it's a game," you're just saying that you don't care about anything at all. Don't use them? It's not something you can say "I want to buy ____ but I don't want to buy from a merchanter." It's pretty much like the autoers, you don't know who you're buying from. Now, as to the merchanter debate, you guys are thinking that it's a matter of "it takes more skill than the other 'skills' in RuneScape." True, it does, but that's because you're dealing with other PEOPLE, not just yourself or an NPC. You need to think of merchanting as what it is: buy low sell high. Basically, merchanters are no better than insurance salesmen, which is basically legalized scamming/stealing. Yes, you can demand to pay the normal price, but then they just decline and yell "0mgz0rz n0oooob!1" Which, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's pretty low. Not once have I encountered a "nice" merchanter. It's always "you buy for my price, or you don't get anything." As well, most merchanters I run into are full-time merchanters, meaning they don't do much other than merchant, which leads me to believe that they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the game. In fact, they are HURTING it by stealing money, and items from not just the players, but the game itself.
  13. And Clicking 1000 times at a rock, with guides, takes skill? Did I EVER say that?
  14. It takes "skill" to know where to merchant? No it doesn't, there are guides all over the place of where to do this stuff, it takes no skill. And you can merchant without even knowing that stuff. The definition of merchanting is not making 5m, but it's only making SOME profit. Even if you made 1gp, it's still merchanting. Granted, you may not be considered the best at it, you have still merchanted. As for the price changes... again, no skill involved. Just look at the official forums, boom, there you go. Actually, you can't "predict" when this will happen, unless you decide to sell everything on Sunday, or Monday. You have no proof that you can "predict" these types of things. It's like a suicide bomber. You can't predict when, and where he will attack, it just happens. Again, just look on the RS.com forums, and you'll stay up to date with them. No skill involved other than clicking and reading.
  15. Actually, it's them that take advantage of you. By paying something for nothing, you pretty much pay them to go about their daily lives. Think of it like this: they set their program, they leave. They come back, sell you some stuff, sell the gp on Ebay, make real hard cash. 30M runs about $300 USD. That's pretty easy to get while macroing.
  16. Actually, there's a much simpler way, one that nobody has seen yet. Wanna know what it is? RS1. That's right, the place that has recently been flooded with autoers is actually the best place to go. I know, I know, you're probably thinking "it was overrun with autoers," and you're right, it was. Why? Two reasons: a) the people playing, and B) the lack of security updates. Anyone here that has played since before RS2, will know what I'm talking about. Back then, it was a great place to be! RuneScape was a friendly place, like a small little town; everybody knew everybody else. Then RS2 came along, and suddenly the "small town" became a "larger than life country of it's own." With this, comes the bad side of the game, the little kids. You may say "but that's stereotypical CWolf2! And that's wrong!" Well screw that idea, because the truth is, they wouldn't exist if they weren't true. The younger crowd tends to be the less mature group of the game (not always, but most of the time), everyone knows this. Before RS2 came out, this game was awesome! People would lend you the "rare" items for a picture, and trust that you would give it back (which you WOULD). Was it wrong of them to trust you? No, it would be wrong of you to abuse that trust, much like people do today. But back to the point: curing the disease that is "autoing." In RS1, Woodcutting was great, AND complex, unlike it is now. RS2 has seemed to dim down basically everything. What took hours, now takes mere seconds (you try trading 4,000 yew logs in RS1 why not?). With RS1, you would swing at the tree, and you'd only get one try. If you missed, you missed, and stopped cutting. Now, you don't "miss," you simply keep chopping, even through each log. I suggest we take hints from the older game, as they seemed to stop the tide of autoing for quite some time. And as for the autoing on RS1? It was mainly with mining, smithing, anything that wasn't Woodcutting. Why? It was too much of a pain, and F2P only had normal trees, so there was no use in it. That was the great part! You had to pay to get anything great in the game. If it were up to me, I'd say do what WoW started on, random spawns for trees, ores, and the like. Fishing may not be great, but it's pretty close to perfect (now we just need to get rid of the titles that advertize "fish here for sharks!"). Well, I would post more, and I hope you guys don't take this way out of context. I'm off to bed, I shalt be backeth later...eth.
  17. Here's my defense pure (I'm working on a new one as well; these guys are awesome, and fun to just walk around with): Okay, so I editted it, haha, he actually has 2 attack (accidental level while training), and that is why I'm making a new defense pure. But yeah, these guys are AMAZING at skilling. I will work on getting one to level 60 or 70 defense, that would be awesome to see a level 32 in full Guthan, or a level 27 in full Dragon (minus the shield, of course). But yeah, a level 18 in full Saradomin (or whatever you prefer, minus the plate though) is an amazing sight to see, and I'm glad I made these two, because they are noticed everywhere. I actually had a person come up to me and say "wow, full addy (g) on a level 18!" Then I put on the rune... heh, that shocked her. But like I was saying, defense pures as skillers: at level 18 combat, you are getting level 38 random events. Now, provided they aren't the evil chicken, you basically won't be hit by these random events. There is a downside though, you can't hit anything higher than a 1. Even with the best armor (that you can't wear), the best weapon (d2h, which you can't wield), the best potions (super str), the best specials (dragon battle axe), and the best in prayer (which you can't use), you will still only hit a 1. That is why, if you ever see a person hit a 2, they aren't pure defense. It took me a few weeks to get my pure to his level 40, and it took me 4 days to get it from level 30 to 40. But they are VERY helpful and useful. If you obtain level 85 mining, they can go to the wilderness Rune Rocks without fear of being pked (unless by a mage that is). This means that they can't be touched by many people their level, or people too far above the miner. Like I said, however, they can be easily taken down, just like other pures, if your would-be killer were more than 20 levels above you (20 is just an example). But even still, with some rune armor, and some energy, you can outlive most any encounter. I have been in the wild before, and I even withstood a direct attack from a mage pure, and stood to tell about it! Mind you I was in level 13 wilderness, but the fact remains (I stood and fought for a few rounds before fleeing). Defense pures are GREAT fun, but again, it is paintaking hard work, and requires a good amount of financial backing to make these guys the best they can be. I would advise you don't even try this until you are a high level (85+) on your main account before even attempting to make a defense pure, as these little fellas won't be making you much money until a good few months have passed.
  18. Wow, I love the new camo armor! Do you have pics of the helmet?
  19. Just thought I'd embolden a bit of a grammar error you made. I'm a bit of a cynic. :) Okay okay, fair play, I missed two letters while typing, but only two... still better than him.
  20. well, your rite, but mostly wrong, as long as the $ they get isnt stolen, they honestly couldnt care any less. now if it is stolen or something illegal, then they care... if some guy you saw on the corner of your hosue gave you $5 a month, for nothing...would you question him? or would you take it and not ask about it you would take it, dont lie. everyone would take it... free money... no way anyone would turn that down I love how you assume so many things. My friendS have gotten their accounts locked because they thought someone else paid for them, so don't tell me "they are fine with it as long as they get the money". And could you please brush up on your English skills? I seriously doubt anyone would take you serious otherwise. What you would do, and what Jagex would do are two completely different things, mainly because just randomly taking money could get them in serious legal trouble. Would you still take the money if he told you it was to keep quiet that a serial murderer was hiding in your house? I think not. And xpx, to be frank, I never liked you, in fact, I think your ego is bigger than the state of Texas, but that's for another time. You really should be banned from the game. I mean come on, you are telling people to cheat at the game! That in itself is breaking the rules. Then, you yourself probably do that exact method you so clearly explained... you should just leave.
  21. A stupid little brown skirt... it wouldn't let me wear it, so I just dropped it. I got a torag plate the next round though. By the way, if you don't know that that's a joke, take a break from the computer. But seriously, the weirdest thing I've ever gotten: about 300 someodd coins, and a 14 from Ahrim.
  22. Morally right and legally right are two different things, genius. And if you don't like being teleported from/protection prayed from etc... get the hell out of the wild, simple.
  23. not every tried gettin around it... like me, my name is jessy61071. 1 "0" isnt trying to get around any filter No, but what about the people with 00oo0o 0 o0 o o as their username (or something close to that)? You can't just ban people with that as their username, there are WAY too many to do that without someone getting harmed by said user before they can ban them. Most of the time, people with these numbers are scammers, and reside on world 1 and 2. That is not always the case, however. You're upset because they put a line through your name... I suggest you get over it, as the people I know, don't have 0's in their name for the sake of making it look cool. And to those who do, think of the group rather than just your selfish selves.
