Went through the pain of opening IE to check the steps for fixing this problem, and they're basically the same. Go to tools, Add-ons, Enable and disanble add-ons and disable Skype. repeat to re-enable. The problem is definitely Skype-only. If you have a friend without Skype, ask them. They would not have the same problem with the guides. ;)

Out of curiosity... How do any of the styles fit with tip.it except the tip.it one itself? :? I like the style, though I'm not sure it would pull me away from the default theme, because I'm so used to that one, but I just don't see how saying 'it wouldn't fit well with tipit' is relevant, considering we already have styles that don't 'fit.' Could you explain that, maybe? Ambivalent as to whether this should be added or not, since I doubt I'd use it and I'm not sure how easy/hard it is to add styles.

Assuming you're using firefox, go to tools, add-ons, and disable the skype add-on. That should solve the problem. If you actually use Skype for calling people, then you'll have to re-enable it after you're done with the guide by following the steps above, but clicking enable instead of disable.
