First of all, you don't need the herblore level to start the quest or access the fairy rings. If you want to finish it, though, I'm fairly sure that the only herblore booster is Greenman's Ale, which boosts it by one. You might be able to buy a mature version for a two level boost, though.

Well, for melee start with rune plate, full helm, platelegs/plateskirt (same stats, skirt is cheaper), and then a full charged Rune Berserker Shield (from Fist of Guthix), rune gauntlets (also from FoG), an Explorer's Ring (Lumbridge Achievement Diary), an Amulet of Power or Amulet of Strength, and either a rune scimitar or rune longsword (Scim is most popular, I think, but both sides have their fans). If you can't be bothered keeping the berserker shield charged, just use a rune kiteshield. For ranged, full green d'hide, a maple shortbow, and adamant arrows. For mage, you'll want either FoG mage robes, or the Runecrafter robes from the Great orb Project if you can get them (not as good, but they don't degrade). Plus a staff, and the runes that you need for whatever spell you're casting.

Greater Demons trump roaches. They're in high level wild though, and revs patrol around there.

Yes, it would be insanely generous of Jagex to give F2P another update after the past couple of months. But that doesn't mean we can't hope. ;)

Runecrafting guild, runecrafting minigame, and a firemaking update? I think my head might explode from sheer happiness. :D I just hope it's F2P. :pray: (And for anyone who is getting ready to launch into a 'you don't pay, you don't deserve updates' rant; please note that I didn't say Jagex should give F2P the updates - I would just be veryveryvery happy if they did.)

Pkers could interrupt pve at any time too. and there are other places to fight ice giant you know (and in less dangerous areas with the same amount of competition). I for one am glad that Rev's are consistent. Back then, not only did I not know green drag slayer's inventory was, but I didn't know their intentions. If I killed a pker, good for me. If I killed a green drag slayer, I could be piled by others or waste my food for a REAL pker. That's the reason why I never brought any armor into the wildy. Acting in reaction is not nearly as good as getting first strike. But since I can now act with first strike, I am at a good advantage. I just wish they were a little more pwoerful at higher lvls. Maybe that's a good idea: A rev becomes more powerful at higher wilderness lvls (not just different combat lvls.) So a lvl 7 imp at 56 wildy will be MUCH more powerful than an imp at lvl 3. First of all, if PK'ers could actually steal you from monsters (in single combat), then I admit to my mistake. However, I've seen several people saying that they could not and you're the first person to say that they could. Since we can't exactly go out and test it for proof, I'll leave that alone. Also I know that there is one other area in F2P (which is what I am) for Ice Giants and that it's safe, but 1) it's usually fairly crowded, whereas wildy giants are always empty, 2) there are Ice Warriors getting in the way at the Ice Caves, but not in the wild, and 3) I wasn't complaining about the danger. I know the wild is dangerous, and i accept that as being reasonable. Thank you.

GAH!!! Revs seriously need to quit stealing me from my ice giant when I've got it down to like 5 hp! I can accept that I risk having revs kill me whenever I go into the wild - but can't they at least not be allowed to interrupt a fight in a non-multi zone? I mean, geez, it's not like PK'ers could do that! (Or teleblock in F2P, but I'm up by lvl 50 wild, so I can't tele anyways). Grrrr... That is all.

My settings always look like they're still the same (and in-game, I think they are), but the login screen says it's at the right spot, but always starts up at the highest volume. I fully agree with finding away to keep the music where it is. Also, I use Firefox too, so maybe that is the problem.

buying weapons and armour doesn't count. For all you know, I could've fletched my way to lvl 80 and high-alch the bows to get the money (which I did). I didn't buy a single bow and I increased fletching while I was at it to raise the money for my whip/rune/dragon armour. and getting your bones from the dragons you kill yourself doesn't make you look stupid...it makes you richer. So how is your spending money you raised by skilling to help out other skills different than anyone else who does the same, just for a non-combat skill?

So thieving is more work than firemaking? Isn't that a little silly? Considering that thieving is faster to get to 99. :roll: I don't know how you think of "buying" skills, but you don't just pay a genie 110m gp and instantly get 99 prayer. :lol: it may be faster...in some ways, but at least you didn't "cheat" your way by buying a bunch of logs to burn. no, what you do is BUY BONES to get to lvl 99! doh! So, since your smithing is level 72, I assume you do all you melee fighting in mithril armor with a mithril weapon (or, possibly, an adamant dagger or mace), that you made yourself, right? Because if you buy things to help you train, that's cheating! :shock: Yeah, sounds stupid, doesn't it? So does getting to 99 prayer without buying bones.

lol, I remember that. :) At least you made out better than I did: 100 coins. And a cabbage. \ My best drop was something like 50000 coins, though. :) Not too spectacular, but it made me happy.

What level do you suggest and what rune? Airs. You star making a profit at 22 (3x), and then every ten levels your profit goes up. OT: I had 5 skills unranked pre-update. Now they're all ranked. \ Still, it doesn't feel as good knowing that all my stats are ranked as it would have before. Ah well.

They haven't. Big bones are the way to go for f2p.
