I think only the gods that had a podium count, so most desert gods don't count. Killing Icthlarin would be pretty stupid, too.

That raises the question, which mortals are most likely to participate? Zemouregal is an obvious choice in my opinion, because he expressed a great desire to become a god. I could see him try to pick off Armadyl, or directly challenge Zamorak to prove that he is the strongest mahjarrat. Azzanadra isn't a candidate; he's way too loyal to Zaros. It would be interesting if he back-stabbed Zaros, though. Zilyana is crazy enough to try to kill Saradomin, and she's about as strong as Zamorak was before he got the staff, I think. The player could, but I think we know that we can't become a god. It'd be cool, however. Maybe someone from the Godless would try (and probably fail miserably) to kill a god.

That's what you get if you vote no. Basically, there's no reason to vote yes unless you legitimately think that the current solution is the best possible solution.

The solution to that would be to have a bunch of situations which each have a different best. That has even more problems though :p

No one plays it. Occasionally you see a group of people play 1 game to unlock the song, but that's it.

We have abilities for that now. Theoretically, but in practice there are no abilities which function like the old shortbow > 2h switch, or Korasi > claws, and certainly nothing like maul > gmaul > gmaul. Abilities are, on the whole, a poor substitute for the variety of old combat. They do not involve speed, nor do they involve range, there's no stat drain, there are no alternate attack styles and there's no weapon switching. I think it's good that those things don't exist anymore. They were a poor excuse for cleverness in combat.

Why, because there's no negative effect for this vote. If you won't use the update at all then it still won't hurt you to vote yes. Its an extra option. There's no reason to vote no except to deny that option to others. They hoped to release it early november so most of the development of it is already done or nearing completion so its not like its taking up many resources. What reason do you have for voting no except to deny it to others when the Old Highscores will still be there and there are no major rewards for the new system like new armour, weapons or items to skill. I am telling people to vote yes because I see no negative repercussions of this vote going through. You lose nothing by not participating even if the update goes through. You can't say there are no negative effects when you outright ignore everyone who names a negative effect

They aren't falling for anything. They don't have a choice.

I don't think Jagex should make everyone go hide. But they need to give a coherent storyline and motive for the gods to join, otherwise they all look like complete idiots being manipulated by an obvious scam. It's called patching up plot-holes. Also there is no reward. No one actually thinks that Sliske would just hand over the source of his power, just like that. The only 'reward' in World Event is an extremely dangerous and chaotic free-for-all brawl that would play into Sliske's hands. Yeah, but it'd be extremely unrealistic for them to collectively decide that no one will kill each other. Besides, Sliske has some very good reasons to get rid of the Stone.
